Has there ever been a song that you want to burst into tears every time you hear it? Or maybe it just radiates emotion. Discuss here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUrYEXREdnI This song is definitely up there for me. It's not necessarily a sad song, but it certainly reaches out to me. I really think the melody of the chorus is quite beautiful, and its arrange adds to the song a lot too. How about you?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QfPDmzpC2Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkvVr6n1cGk The game is super emotional, so naturally the songs from it carry a lot of that emotion with it. Amazing game, even more amazing story, and very emotional
Oh many I have some good ones: Spoiler https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2QkKHmAJNs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWO4ff1HXYY I love these two to death, and I like listening to them after a long day, they help me slow down and relax.
Easily https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSjIz8oQuko This song came out when I was in a broken home, so naturally it affected me greatly. Even now when I listen it reminds me of my younger self and how my parents would fight. Suffice to say, I don't listen to it haha, I'll go back to Eisbecher =w=
Every Katatonia Album after Brave New Murder Puts me on a really emotional state also this song from Gary Jules https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N3N1MlvVc4 Its funny tho Because thats a cover from a new wave band from the 80 named Tears for Fears and the song they made Is actually really happy and psychedelic at times regardless the lyrics which are the same on both versions also Modest Mouse - Little Motel always makes shed a tear
I've got a few. One in particular comes to mind, and it is just heart-stopping. If I listen to it, I break down in tears. But here's the thing: I don't cry. Like, ever, at all. I think I have some kind of psychological disability or something. Anyhow, this one song (which is a 2006 classical-genre theatric/poetic wordless song), just destroys me inside. I will not name it for you, because I don't want you to cry too. If you want a hint: 73834073 Some other ones though: Kaltes Grab (Cold Grave) by Megaherz (genre: hard rock ballad). The lyrics are in German, but the emotion of the song (especially half or two-thirds of the way through) transcend language. It's a song about "I can't go on living without you" and the difficult decision that comes after that declaration. The Silver Cord by Gojira (genre: ambient). This is just a quiet interlude on one of my favorite albums, sandwiched between a song about being hunted by a god of death and a song about being pushed into the harshness of the world before you're ready. Something about this song feels like I'm taking my last breaths, like this is the end of me, especially with the artful almost-drops near the end. Majora's Wrath, from Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, remixed/remastered/reorchestrated by Theophany (genre: cinematic classical). Not particularly sad, but boy does it make me nervous, and nevousness is an emotion. I'm wanting to look up to the sky and make sure I have more than three days to live. Sends shivers down my spine, I tell you. Until It Sleeps, originally by Metallica, as performed by Apocalyptica (genre: orchestral, no vocals). Just a deep and powerful song that conveys the original message of reliance on a loved one, but minus all the stuff that people who don't like metal hate.
There are two songs that for a long time brought me either to a waterfall or close to tears when I heard them. To where you are by josh groban. This song is often played at the the funerals of my loved ones or I play it to help me deel with the pain and sadness I feel. This song often brings the flood gates open but it is such a beautiful song that I can't help but listen to it. If you hear me play this song, tears may shortly follow. The other song doesn't make me cry but it gives me quite the emotions when I hear it. Remember the song that was playing in the dragon ball z movie history of trunks? You know, the one where trunks finds gohan face down dead in the puddle of water and goes super saiyan? Yeah, that song has always had a strong effect on me. For a song that can make me mad or strangelly enough calm me down, we go to red to black by fort minor. I play it when I'm royally pissed because it just drains the rage right out of me somehow. Hikaru Nara by goose house is a happy song that makes me happier and more positive and can help me get through the roughest of shifts at work. The best part is I can remember the gist of a song and play it in a loop in my head as if I'm listening to it. So If I need to listen to one of these songs, I have instant access. I don't know any other way to explain it. I hear it as the song plays, not me singing it in my head.
I'm a very musical person, so music can almost control how I think and feel. A few songs that have the biggest affect on me are: Never Give In by Black Veil Brides- this song is very motivational to me. It inspires me to get up and keep going and not let anything stop me and not let any obstacles get in my way Bleed Red by Ronnie Dunn- ok I have some anger issues and can easily get violent when I mad, but no matter how much I want to kill someone I love m so mad, this song always calms me down It's My Life by Bon Jovi- to me (and this may not be the intended meaning but it's how I interpret it) this song basically tells you to just live your life. You're not gone live forever and you shouldn't let anyone decide what you do. After all, it's your life and you have the right to live it your way
Three songs for me. One English, One Korean, and another without any vocals at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDAd0S92Uko https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzCbEdtNbJ0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7maJOI3QMu0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgTvwohkKx8 Come Back to Me by Les Friction is by far the most emotional song I've ever heard, and that's mostly because I know the context behind it. The lead singer wrote this song for his dead brother. The main line of the song "Come Back to Me" is said only once at the very end during the song's crescendo. It's the singer begging for his brother back. Honestly, I tear up just thinking about the song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvVgNpEX8xU The album this is from. is intensely dark. But this is a nice break from it all. Let yourself go and dream!
Here's a few of mine: "Hold On Pain Ends" by The Color Morale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCP2q2JVkk4 . If you didn't notice, the acronym for this song spells HOPE. That alone is pretty awesome, but I think what makes me the most happy about this song is that the singer is basically telling you that your scars are okay and you should own them and not try and be ashamed of them. The most EMOTIONAL part of it for me though is the ending chorus. The Color Morale released a video to go along with this single when it was released showing the recording process of the final chorus (many people all singing it). They brought in a whole group of fans and the singer told them "okay guys, I don't care if you sing in key or whatever, as long as you're singing from the heart that's all that matters." Which I thought was amazing and made me love this song. "Saviorself" by the Color Morale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34xveem-Sqw . So as to not offend anyone I won't go into detail, but this song is basically how I feel about religion. The screams in this song are raw and sound like he's putting his heart into it, same with the clean singing. The guitar part in the outro just makes me think, not about anything in particular, but it just makes me think. "If It Means A Lot To You" by A Day To Remember https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFWpYiK_qzw . Jeremy McKinnon is probably my favorite singer, but although the song itself is phenomenal, I love this song and it gets me emotional for a whole different reason. One night I had a moment of weakness where I had to reach out to a friend in probably my hardest time ever and they helped me out and got me through the stuff I was going through. This song was the song playing at the time. Besides being incredibly thankful to that person, they also become my inspiration for loving this song so much. "Understanding What We've Grown To Be" by We Came As Romans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsvxWp-vBvY . Good change up song between screaming and singing, and the message of the song is great telling us to all love one another. The most important part of the song that gets me emotional though is the second half, where the "I need to understand what we've grown to be" comes in. One of my favorite lines in a song to this day is from this song, "tonight, when I look into the sky, I know this is why I am alive." Like Saviorself, this song just makes me think, and just be thankful that "I'm alive." "So stand with me if you feel this feeling." "A War Inside" by We Came As Romans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gxiu-STta4 . One of the heavier songs on this list, but I think it really speaks volumes for someone struggling with their feelings back and forth between depression and being happy. As someone who has been down that road I can really connect with this song. Dave's screams compliment Kyle's singing very well and the switching between the two really does give the sense of good vs evil. Then at the ending of the song, it stays just singing and it feels like the war has been won. "My Hands" by Leona Lewis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu_oPODHPhs . This is the song that plays during the final cutscene of Final Fantasy 13. I know it wasn't a very liked game, but I personally loved Final Fantasy 13 and the story really touched me. The ending reunion of Sazh and Dajh, and Serah, Snow and Lightning was the first thing to get me to tear up, especially over a video game, in I can't even count how long. Besides being a song I just enjoyed, I thought it really contributed to the ending feeling. The ending of the song ending right when the cutscene ended spot on made it that much better.
TCM are a very good band. One of my favourites, both lyrically and emotionally. They widen the playing field a lot with their on time signature sound. Keeps you nodding, but also it's fun! : 3 I like this song by them. Same album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM8zpcE-LCY
I have oh so many Spoiler https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRNRCGezhRQ&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A&index=51 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la_b5AUmJMs&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A&index=134 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynNSh9vWgzM&index=215&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s3uLEmw8fM&index=224&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aTOaRB_XX4&index=223&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiQv_qV2wcc&index=257&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc6c5F6vuF0&index=282&list=FLvDtWdvmHzjKGm9RcMQo79A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvuNo02q0mY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWWLh4TIpx8 Found one I was supposed to track out first post here. More than likely, the best song on the entire album. So passionate, so absorbed in their own creation. It's quite something else. Ofc it has gutturals in it a some point, but those only add to the raw emotion. It's a bit "commercial" for melodic death metal, but oh well!
Riding on the The Color Morale wagon again, this is another very emotional song for me from them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvDiYtW-K_c
I FORGOT TO MENTION ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS! Watching the music video and the drama it goes with makes it even worse haha... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRWyDl26Qt0
