As for myself, I am currently attempting to level up this Alolan Exeggcute here in hopes it will grow into the tallest palm tree imaginable. Legendary eggs can wait, I want my meme material for Valor battles. XD

 

What kind of Tauros is that in the OP? xD Reminds me of a US flag with the red white and blue color scheme.

Love the idea of a chat here though. Definitely need to get some training in for my buddies before I wander into the Valor Battle section lol.

 

Interesting concept, it's pretty neato. Anyways, I am here just hunting Pokémon. I catch what I feel like and I plan to raise my Pikachu to level 100 yolo.

 

I'm not really training my 'mons up for Valor Battle I never tried the old system out so I'm still a bit hesitant to start.

 

I'm focused on hatching the Eggs. I think I have gotten all four of them, as every Egg I've run into lately has been a 'repeat'. On top of that, been keeping an eye out for Dratini...

 

I'm not training for battle yet. I wanna focus on hatching all 4 hatchable legendaries first. I'm half way done! 2 down 2 to go!

 

I'm just busy trying to hatch this little eggy and get points for more Pokeballs. I have 4 other eggs waiting for me to hatch

 

I'm saving all my PP and Ultra Balls for Mewtwo, while also working on Alolan Grimer's Evo Dex entry. I'm currently doing two Valor Battles, they're kinda fun, actually. Nice way to build up PP and gain BP.

 

I haven't tried the old system out either, but this time around Valor Battles are super easy. The only reason I managed to win my first round was because I studied the opponent's Pokémon first before deciding which of my Pokémon to send out, hoping that they wouldn't send out the one Pokémon that completely resists mine, as well as having a bit of luck with who goes first. It also helps to use dual-type Pokémon, as they can use two types of attacks instead of one.

 

Right now my focus is pretty basic:

:: Nabbing either rarer species or just things I like the looks of (ones that match my aesthetic),
:: Working on filling up the Evo-Dex with species that no one has worked on to evolve yet (based on what I have, as in the first point),
:: Focusing later on just having a single species I can use as a 'main' buddy.

I'm assigning them in that priority - first first, second second, third third. I already know who I'm going to use on point #3 (Seadra - or Kingdra whenever that update drops), and other than that I'll just keep my eyes open for things. So far this scheme has worked, so I don't see much need to change my plan or set-up yet.

I try to keep a steady stream of posts going, not only because it helps as incentive to fill up the Evo-Dex, but as a moderator I should be active on the forums anyway.
I don't plan on doing anything with Valor Battle just yet, largely because it doesn't have much draw to me, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the rest of the system (or so I think).

 

Thanks for the tips @SnowboundBecca I guess I'll try it out eventually when I have a bit of free time. I saw that Pokémon above level 35 can use stronger moves, so I'm gonna level up my Raichu in preparation!

I've been having the same problem with Chansey lately. I suppose it's true what they say: catching it is all up to chance. And apparently, my luck fluctuates from decent to terrible on a regular basis. :/

 

It's a little weird like that. Nothing has even taken me more than 5 balls to catch (not even the weird ones like Aerodactyl), and things like Chansey, Lapras, and Ditto I just nab instantly. I'm not sure if it's a magic touch, time of day, or just a number of other factors besides.

I did manage to find a Tangela without the tab error a while ago, to make up for my previous shortcoming. As suggested by another, I did name it "Weed on Shoes".
