    Hello LV it's story time
So I wake up at 6 because I really REALLY crave some nice rising crust pizza. So I pop it in the toaster oven we just bought for the alotted time which worked fine with the old one till it broke and guess what? It cooked the crust and not the inside, like at all, it was still cold. I'm so upset, I can't eat this! Now I'll have to buy another pizza!

So what about you guys? Ever get something that you thought would work fine but actually sucked?

ps I know it was 6 am and I know I was about to eat pizza for breakfast but I'm an adult.

I do not doubt this for a single second.

Is it weird to think that the one appliance I'm thinking of is also a toaster oven, and that my household threw it away because it stopped working altogether - and I found this out by attempting to cook a frozen pizza?

    Because it is.
(We've been shopping on and off for a new toaster oven ever since, but since the actual need for a toaster oven is low, it's never been seriously pursued.)

They don't make toaster ovens like they used to I guess!

We need it here, we use it for everything. I aint cooking no chicken strips in the big oven.

What is it with pizza and breaking things?

When I moved into this current apartment the oven included with it was old. I'm talking 1970s era. But, it worked fine for a while, until one day I went to cook a pizza. A big old 12-14 inch gimmick. Well I set my timer and go look in on it when it's supposed to be done and the thing's half cooked. So I leave it in more, no deal, no more cooking. I salvaged that one by microwaving it the rest of the way on a big plate but it turned out gross and chewy as a result. Called property manager, he came and took a look and said the fuse for the oven blew. Stove top still worked, but the oven would not. He bought a new fuse, changed it, and we turned on the oven for a test and it worked. Great, fixed.

Except not, because less than three minutes later I see a bright blue flash and the oven goes out again. So the fuse gets replaced again. Same thing. Eventually they called in this appliance technician who was coming anyway to look at the building's washing machine and it was discovered the whole fuse bar/array/whatever you call it (under the top panel was an array of six oldschool fuse slots) was shot. Even if a brand new fuse was put in the oven being powered would just continue to spectacularly wreck them within minutes. Nothing to be done.

It all worked out though, a few days later there was a knock at the door and two guys with a new oven for replacement. Wasn't brand new, the one I have now is maybe from the mid-80s or something but hell I can't complain, it works like a beast and there was no cost or labor on my part.
