Does anyone heard of fan made Pokémon games in gernal? I heard of and played Pokémon reborn and Pokémon insurgence. It would be interesting to know someone played simillar Pokémon games like these two
Well, I only know of one other decent Pokémon fangame, Pokémon Uranium. Although, it's EXTREMELY hard to get now. Still, if you want to play it, good luck in your search.
I know of only a handful, I think? Mostly through word of mouth anyway, but I've never played any, rip.
In my case it's not a fangame, but a romhack, but I really enjoyed SacredGold and StormSilver. They're romhacks of HGSS that: - make all 493 Pokémon obtainable in one game without trading or events, and integrates them all really, really well. - balances and logical-izes Pokémon by ways of stats, movesets, and even types and evolution methods. Farfetch'd with good Attack? Luxray as Electric-Dark? All Eeveelutions evolving by different stones? Cut as a grass move almost as strong as Surf? Yes please! - some extra lore added in, most of which is borderline-canon, and which has some nice rewards for side-questing. It's not a ground-up fangame, but I really enjoyed it. Maybe it's to your liking too.
FanGames are really fun! I've played some, I think even more than actualy games, because I've never had a console so I use emulators. So, I've played 'MewYou' which is a really short game about you, Mew, who has to escape from an evil team; you go on finding some Pokefriends on the way to your escape, and it's really well-done. I've also played 'Pokémon, Dark Rising', which is very glitchy but the story is pretty well-done and the difficulty is very high, so if you're into that, I'd totally recommend it. Then I've played 'Pokémon, Glazed' (actually, I'm still halfway through it, it has two regions), and it's pretty good, but it doesn't have many distinct features that I remember, the first gyms are quite difficult, but then it's easy because the gym leaders don't level up as much as you did (and they should, tbh), and you also have a Pikachu as an enemy which is p funny. I've probably played some more but I haven't finished/don't remember them (for example, Pokémon Keyra which was never finshed :/). I also want to play 'Pokémon - Phoenix Rising' which is not a hack-rom so it's made in RPGMaker and it seems REALLY good. The first beta is already out, and it has new forms and the graphics are really good and tbh it's evident that they're doing an amazing job with it. I've also heard of Insurgence and Uranium (it's not that hard to get anyways, once it was released in the internet, Nintendo can't stop it hah; I remember I grabbed the installer when it came out and then they took it down like 3 days later :O), and they do seem pretty cool.
I've never been a huge fan of fanmade games, though I have played one. I played the Roblox version of Pokémon, which got taken down recently. I only played it because my brother's friend did, so don't judge. No new Pokémon are created, just the ones from gen 1-7.
Going to say it, Phoenix Rising was the worse fangame I've played on all aspects but graphics. Its super laggy, recently lost its head developer (which hurts games to the point it can kill projects), has had massive glitches that could ruin files because of incorrectly done updates, Lacks assess to interior files (personal nitpick because I do devamp mods), Left in a Dev Warpoint and then when it was found anyone who gave to much info were it was found was banned from the Discord, very toxic-selfcentered community, among other problems- Ethereal Gates was so much better and had practically the same op graphics, I would recommend playing that game instead (Its only in Demo Stage atm with the next planned release being the full game it seems) Etheral Gates > Pheonix Rising Insurge/Zeta/Omi are Ok Fangames but don't put a lot of balancing into account like ROM Hacks containing all gen mons do, so that can be a turn off for some and why I liked Z/O over Insurge (All three are made by the same person- diff teams and a new team and lead are remaking Z/O) SPEE (Super Pokémon Eevee Edition or something like that) was really really good if your a sucker for Final Fantasy games and Gen 2 Graphics Pokémon Academy Life (Something like that I can't remember most titles) is a Pokémon Virtual Novel and good if you like games like those or reading Moemon is a fun mod to spice up games with said rom mod, but its nothing more then a sprite change InfiniteFusion is fun too, cruddy graphic wise less you mod sprites yourself, you fuse Pokémon together like those sites you can find on the web, only gen 1 mons right now (Unless it updated again I haven't checked) Insurgence/Rejuvenation are difficult games and for those looking for a challenge I'm also part of a team making a hack of Firered were all mons are Bidoofified- its not ready for play yet though
Oh wow, thanks for the recommendations! Also, I didn't know! I was following the project on the sidelines tbh. Has it been discontinued? It seemed pretty rad, but what you're saying, it's such a shame :O. I had seen that there were like 4 bets in a span of 1 day, but I didn't download any of them anyways. I liked the new forms that PR had shown, though :/. I'll check out that Ethereal Gates, seem pretty rad from what I'm seeing on PC. The art is great, plus, new Pokémon! Yay! Funnily enough, I was following them on Twitter already for some reason. Oh, I know the Academy Life one, got it downloaded but haven't played it yet!
@Darkmaster006 It hasn't been discontinued yet but I theorize that it may possibly will, as I've seen that before with projects under similar circumstance, regardless it will induce a lot of change into PR which could be quiet a blessing or go down deeper in the hole its already made. Only time will tell
