As the title says, what are some fanfics that you suggest? I would love to read some in my free time, so link them here! Preferably Pokémon fanfics, but any is allowed! For me, personally, I suggest this fanfic! It's pretty damn long (77 chapters and still not finished, holy hell), but the author is currently working on another project, so I'm sure there's some time to catch up. It has a really great plot, unique and lovable main characters, great fights, some sprinkles of romance- seriously, I highly recommend it. What about you guys?
Here's a few of my personal favourites: Even the Flu ( https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6329043/1/Even-the-Flu ) - Whitney gets sick and Morty takes care of her. Cute one-shot with some Resistance-shipping Game, Set, Match ( https://www.fanfiction.net/s/4970161/1/Game-Set-Match ) - Brock is trying to get hooked up with someone, and ropes Ash and Misty into it. Brockx?, Pokeshipping Family Matters ( https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6936251/1/Family-Matters ) - Series of slice-of-life one-shots in the life of Ash and Misty as adults - as a married couple and parents - and their kids, Aiden, Michelle, and Elizabeth. Solid Pokeshipping, Contestshipping, GeekChicShipping. As a matter of fact, I definitely recommend all of "nyislandersgirl"'s fanfics; they're well-written and all of the established characters are represented well (the children are adorable as well - all the pairings have their own children) Letting Go ( https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12228348/1/Letting-Go ) - One-shot about the aftermath of Togetic's departure. May's perspective; mild implied Pokeshipping (Ash and Misty never speak) Snow Day ( https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2207955/1/Snow-Day ) - One-shot centered around Giovanni and Sabrina - their manga selves - as they 'take a day off'. No shipping. I like it because it shows a more human side to both characters. Those are some Pokémon-centric fics I would recommend; if you want other recommendations from other fandoms I can provide a couple.
One thing to point out: You said "this fanfic", yet, never mentioned the fanfic's name. Just talking about how good it is. XD Also, I recommend you read TheIllusionFox's Pokémon fanfic called "The Shifter Stone"(Character development are there enough for me to like the characters, interesting plot and concept itself, too). Here's the link to it: https://lakevalor.net/threads/the-shifter-stones.16681/#post-353745 And I also recommend you reading...my fanfic. I know, sounds weird and advertising at the same time for me to say that but in all seriousness, most folks I showed my fanfic to said that it's good. I put a lot of effort into the character development, the story, the concept, and did the writing justice enough for everyone to understand it. There's even a character in the fanfic that I love so much to create. It made me surprised at times that I wrote that character so well. I hope you do give the fanfic a try, one day. It's called "Mixturing Moves" and if you're wondering where to find it at, you can either search it up in the LV literature library or click on the image in my signature that leads to the fanfic. n_n
That part is linked, just click it and it'll take you to there ^^ But, I'll totally check it out! Us writers gotta support each other!
Took me a minute to figure it out too. Also, I posted a fanfic on here a bit ago. Was inspired by the 9th 'episode' of Pokémon Generations... I like how it turned out, too, so if you want (I figured out how to insert a link into a phrase) definitely check it out. It's called "Investigative Journalism" and is about Gabby and Ty, the report team from the games and that episode of Generations.
@vaporwave I forgot to mention that you can let me know what you think about my fanfic here, in PMs, or on DMs in Discord. .3.
*warning! Self advertisement!* Well...You could always read MY FANFIC! https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12377450/1/Different Or you could choose not to, it's your choice!
Oh besides my own? Normally, I don't like to self-advertise, but since you're asking...everyone who's read my Moon novelization (still ongoing) seems to really enjoy it. Do give it a read if you want and let me know how it is. All of these are good Pokémon fanfics I've read over on fanfiction.net Brendan's Journey is written by my good friend jmoul18 and it's a novelization of Omega Ruby. It's a fantastic read with a little bit of everything. It's an M rated fic, so read at your own risk. Great Teacher OniGuzma by SuperfastSquiddle is a good read and post-Sun/Moon story on where Guzma gets hired as a Pokémon battling teacher for his old school. Really a heartwarming story and gives a good glimpse at a different perspective of ya boi. Love&Basketball sorta AU by VerifiedBreeze. An Advanceshipping fic in where May and Ash are high school students as they go their separate career paths to stardom. There's a sequel in the works, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
Yeah I will agree with Sonic Ramon here. Go read Mixturing Moves. Because not only does he put all of his writing passion towards that series, but it's actually good. Which is something I don't say in emphasis many times. (Yeah it's a slight bias, what of it.) Also... You're welcome. On a more serious note, I guess I'll go the self-advertising route and suggest my own fanfic, Pokémon Ageos Chronicles. This is specifically the reboot I started up in the very beginning of April. The original of this fanfic I made as a loose adaptation of a campaign I used to be part of (but stil lassociated with in some degree), and I've brought some of the elements I used in the original from that campaign but refined them a bit more for the common reader to actually digest. That and I've gotten rid of the JRPG bullshit that plagued the original. Link here: https://lakevalor.net/threads/project-harudyne-series-1-pokemon-ageos-chronicles.17197/ or just click on my signature's picture. (Although just for the record, if you could, can you not post anything in my fanfic's thread please? My PMs on here are open, so if you would like to share your opinion or feedback, that is where you do it. Thank you.)
Welcome to the thread of self promotion, might as well put my own dice into the ring. I suggest reading the Eev of Conquest, a Pokémon Conquest fanfic that is based in a slightly different world of Ransei. Battles have escalated to the thousandths and the war between Nobunaga and the heroes has never been fiercer. One little shiny eevee is in her school, being trained to be sent to the front but her difference is color has often lead her to being picked on by others. This story follows her journey from this little powerless eevee to one of the most powerful forces on the battlefield. Link in my signature I also recommend Mixturing Moves. I havent read a lot of it, but from what I can see it is worth your time and its the only fanfic I've had the time to read.
I won't recommend any of my own stories, but I've got a few Pokémon fics right here that I enjoyed reading (click on the titles to read them): In Progress: Skies Above Us - A sort of novelisation of the Sun/Moon games with several features expanded on. I really liked how the protagonist struggles throughout the story, it really shows how difficult a Pokémon journey can be. My only real problem is the prologue is a little tedious and can be skipped without missing out on anything. Great Teacher OniGuzma - Guzma becomes a teacher after the games. What else is there to say? It's got humour, drama and plenty of angst. Complete: Carnage Necropolis - Warning! Not for the faint of heart! An incredibly long zombie story involving Ash and his friends set around the Johto arc. If you like suspense and tons of gore, this fic is for you. If not, you might want to keep away from it. Burial At Sea - One-shot. A little horror, though nothing too extreme. It shows a nice, dark side of the Pokémon world. Silver Screens - Diantha/Cynthia fic. A movie director wants to make a film based off Cynthia's experiences saving Sinnoh from Team Galactic starring Diantha. Contains shipping and some good old-fashioned saving the world. The World In Red - One-shot. A look at Red's success and the pressure that's placed on him to be the very best. It's been one of my favourites for quite a while. New Game - Yet another one-shot. Heartfelt and pretty interesting how it looks at the perspectives of your Pokémon. We Hope to See You Again - One-shot. Hey kids, wanna read something really angsty? Reading Between the Lines - A series of short stories that delve into the lives of the Sinnoh NPCs. Contains some pretty interesting insight on their lives and an all-around fun read. No Antidote - A pretty famous fic, so you may have already read it. A Pokémon journey from the perspective of the starter. Soon into his trainer's journey, things go horribly wrong and it's up to the Pokémon to continue the quest. Hope you guys enjoy!
I have a few to recommend. Pokémon Resonance - A bit of self advertising here. This story is about a trainer named Zero Surama, joined by two Umbreon that escaped from a lab and a mysterious Riolu amnesiac, who are on a quest to collect all of the Johto Gym badges in a year. Throughout his adventure, he meets new friends and rivals, but when the likes of Pokémon Hunter Charlemagne and Team Ragnarok begin to target him, he must team up with some of the trainers he meets. Link in my signature. Pedestal - Another Pokémon fic. Join Zachary Jones in his quest to become Sinnoh champ. The road to being the champ is paved with misfortune. He never can seem to catch a break with all the double weaknesses and much more. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Lost in Time - In this Novelization of Explorers of Time, Chris finds himself turned into a Riolu with almost no memory of his human life. When he is washed up on a beach, he is awoken by a Vulpix. Together, they join the Wigglytuff Guild and form Team Checkmate. PMD Defenders of Warmth - Several humans wake up in the bodies of Pokémon: a Vulpix, a Zigzagoon, an Archen, a Deerling, a Pidgey, and a Spoiler Scyther . These humans eventually must come together when Kyurem rears his face.
By the way, I'll like to agree with my helper on my fanfic and great friend here, @DiancieIsBae, that his fanfic is pretty interesting to read. If he ever post his old version of Pokémon Ageos Chronicles here, then you'll likely see the differences and improvements from the new version compared to the old. Things might be too slow pacing in the fanfic but if you'd managed to get past that or don't mind it at all, then you should enjoy the fanfic. n_n
How about “Calem’s Alola Adventure”?? But, with all shamless self-advertisement aside, he’s a recommendation that may be borderline poke-sacrilegious. Digimon- Apocolypse by Fruitloop Trooper. He’s written a lot of stories, but that one was amazing.
Recently I've read 'Guardian of The Forest' by Relic8. The story takes place after the events PMD Time/Darkness/Sky, and is about a riolu named Howl. He migrates to a different region due to him feeling 'weak' and no longer wants to feel like a burden to his partner, Illume (much to her discontent). After a timeskip we see that Howl has grown up and evolved into a Lucario, and vouches to protect the pokémon living on this new reigon from the fabled beings known as humans. If you're looking for something heavier and more thought-provoking, then I can recommend Another Verse. It's loosely based on Moon version, but gets deeper into the mind of the protagonist and examines the relationships between trainer and pokémon. There's a lot of attention to detail as well which makes it interesting to read.
