Do any of you read or write fanfiction on Wattpad, fanfiction.net, etc? Despite my Wattpad accounts, I don’t read or write fanfic. I made the account because my friends wanted me to. I’m also not the biggest reader. I prefer writing to reading, but even then, I’d rather write horror than fanfic. I guess the genre doesn’t appeal to me?
Yes to both. I love reading, and writing is good. I have an account on FFN, Wattpad (even though I don't go on there anymore), and AO3. FFN and AO3 are my go-to fanfic sites, with AO3 being the easiest one to navigate with available sorting options.
I have an FFN account, but I haven't been able to get on lately. reCaptcha does not agree with my internet speed. In regards to reading, I often have trouble finding things suited to my tastes. In regards to writing, I like to focus on what I tend to look for. I haven't worked all that much on writing lately however because I'm trying to focus on my Kirby Sprite Comic over on Comic Fury.
I used to be a fan of fanfiction, but even when I was one, my selection was very limited. I also am a writer writing to fanfic. As my writing talents slowly improve, I find myself enjoying better written stories and so most of fanfic is immediately out because of that. Not to mention the lack of time in my recent days and my disability making reading a choir, it slowly lead me off reading fanfiction. Still write though.
I use to have a FFN and Quotev account, and wrote some stories on Quotev. Nowadays I stick to reading on AO3 but even that has slowed for me. Don't know why but I don't read a ton anymore
I write fanfiction, which I post both here and on FF.net, though I haven't really been in a writing mood lately. I've been trying to get back in the habit though. I also have an AO3 account, though I haven't uploaded anything there and don't do much reading there either. I do read a few stories over on FF.net but not very many.
I used to write fanfictions back when I was an old member of LV and not banned. You can imagine that the stories flowed like a almost out of ink pen on a piece of paper that doesn't let you write. But I don't do it anymore. I tried but I can't I enjoy my own stories instead of a fanfic.
Oh yes, I like reading and writing FanFictions~! I do get horrible writers' block a lot though... Recently, I've only been reading FanFics, mostly Pokémon or Fairy Tail, though recently I've been exploring other fandoms, too~ About one to two hours in my day is spent on reading FanFictions, eheheh...
I write not a lot anymore like I used to do, but yeah I still do so on Fanfiction.net let's see im already a member for 15 years XD
I have a fanfiction account, and when I first made it, I read a bunch of fanfiction, but I don't read as much anymore, I don't enjoy the serial nature of most of the content, or sifting through countless mediocre stories. I recognize that fanfiction is a great way to begin developing your own talents as a writer though, and so I support people who are using it that way. I've even written a handful of stories (much more than I ever posted), though I try to do more original writing now.
Yes to both! I'm moving more towards original fiction, but I'm still around on Wattpad. I changed my name and moved twice, but right now I'm not gonna say anything about my username. I'm just too cringe for the world to take in. ·v-
I love reading and writing fanfiction. It gives me the chance to get just a little bit more content of my favorite characters, which is great, because usually my favorite characters are ones that don't get a whole lot of attention in the movie/show/book or whatever. I get to explore characters mindsets more, and reading fanfiction introduces me to new ideas that I never considered before. Of course, there will always be the fanfiction that are shorter, or not all that well written, and with so many stories it can be overwhelming sometimes to find a really good one, but I've been able to figure out how to narrow it down and make it easier. I have read some beautiful, wonderfully written fanfiction. So, yeah, big fan.
Back then (a few years ago), I used to read a lot more, but that gradually decreased. I'm still no stranger to fanfiction nowadays, but I only check in once every three or four days or so to see whether or not one any interesting story got an update. Currently, I'm beta-reading a story still relatively early in it's development, but only plan on doing so until a certain point (i.e. until the characters leave the region). After that, I guess I'll just slowly move away from the sphere altogether... I do enjoy writing things on my own, but since I am really critical on my works, I rarely publish. I prefer writing non-fictional texts anyway, so it shouldn't be a surprisr that fanfics are not my forte xD
Since my last post in this thread, I now read a lot more fanfiction than I used to, and continue to write my own (which I just got back to after an unplanned hiatus). In terms of reading, I mainly go back and forth between FF.net and AO3 depending on which site a given story is on, or whatever other platform if it's a story that has stopped updating on either of them but continues elsewhere on the internet (it's happened to a couple stories I like). I also crosspost my stories to both of those sites as well (as well as in our literature library section here on LV). I used to have a few old stories that were FF.net exclusive but I've recently started uploading them to AO3 as well, plus some snippets and things that were previously exclusive to here.
