Any of y'all got Fantasy Life?
    Basically
Fantasy Life is an Action MMORPG-esque game developed by 1UP Studios (previously known as Brownie Brown). The famous Final Fantasy illustrator was involved on illustrations for it and Nobuo Uematsu actually composed musics for it. In this game, you get to experience a life like never before, by decorating your house and of course achieving your own goals. There are 12 jobs in the game. 4 of them are combat-based, which is Paladin, Mercenary, Archer and Magician. Then, we have the Gathering jobs, which are Miner, Woodcutter and Fisherman. And finally, there are Crafting jobs, which is Blacksmith, Carpenter, Cooker, Alchemist, and Fashion Designer. They all ensure that you won't play the same way as your buddies would.

The game was initially released in Japan on December 27th 2012. Then, a massive upgrade came in form of Fantasy Life Link!, which added online multiplayer along with a new island to explore for daring souls and a number of improvements. Owners of the original Fantasy Life could upgrade it for 2,000 yen, while newcomers can get the packaged version, which includes all content from Fantasy Life and the Link! upgrade.
Right after E3 went on, Fantasy Life on Nintendo 3DS is finally announced for Europe and North America. And on top of that, they will get it on September 26th and October 24th respectively!

If you'd like to download the game rather than purchase a boxed copy, the file size of the European version is 6,856 blocks (857 MB), while the American one will be probably slightly smaller.

It's really fun and I think any who likes Pokémon would enjoy it ^^

I have it, I love the different lives. I think my favorite thing about the game is exploring the world and doing the quests.

I am considering getting this game; however, I heard that it can be a chore for certain Lives (namely the non-battle oriented ones such as Chef or Woodcutter), and that the main story lasts less than twelve hours. It reminds me a lot of Harvest Moon/Rune Factory without the marriage aspect, so I sort of wanna get it, but I want to hear more opinions about it first.

Agreeing with this. It does seem really good but OR/AS is almost out too. What do I do?!

Well since both of you are Pokémon fans, and your love seems to be with Pokémon. I'd suggest you buy ORAS and then wait until Christmas for Fantasy Life where there will be sales :)

Christmas is when the new Harvest Moon game comes out, though ;-; Plus I need to conserve money for my trip in January.

This might be one of those games I put off getting for a while, though if I have enough to get it and HM (given I don't get the latter as a gift) then I'll get it then. It does look pretty cute, and I like the idea of having pets that can fight with you (just like in RF!).

Fantasy Life is a decent game all around. There are some aspects that people don't like about it, like some of the quests and such. Plus to get to places where some of your crafting supplies are, you need to advance the story quite a bit.

But I do like the look and feel of it. It's like finl fantasy combined with Animal Crossing, and it has some decent character customization. Plus with all the Lives it has, you'll never really get bored, Just switch to another life if things get too dull for you at the moment.

All in all, I'd give it a 4/5. Though I am no expert on such things and peoples tastes vary.

I really like the look of this game. I have seen some gameplay of it and it looks pretty interesting. I have other games *cough* ORAS *cough* that I'm going to get first, but I want this as well.

I'm really torn on it... I really want to get it, but I'm so unsure if it'll be worth it.

It's a really good game, the story may not be top notch but there is a lot to do with there being 12 lives and all. If you don get this game I don't think you'll regret it since the quests are fun and the humor will most likely make you want to read more about what's going on. Also this little game has a lot of customization options.

So how much replay does this game have? I really want it after OR/AS.

From what I've heard there is a good amount of replay value especially considering that you probably won't choose all of the life classes in one go. Also, there is a DLC that adds a bit of Postgame content and from what I've heard increases your level cap.

I've just gotten the game recently and it's quite charming. I haven't completed much of the game yet, still only in the first town, but I like it.

It's actually a lot of fun. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came in to it, but it's very addictive and I don't think I'll be done playing it for a little while yet. Good game, highly recommend it to anyone. :)

I got Fantasy Life a couple weeks ago, and though I was worried it'd feel more like a chore, I've been enjoying it soooo much. So long as I start off with an offensive Life (I went with Wizard because I'm a magic geek) and stick with that for a while, gathering materials for the item gathering/item making Lives isn't a pain since you can easily take down monsters and whatnot. The quests don't feel too much like chores; in fact, they're really fun. The plot's pretty lackluster and I've found each chapter easy to complete thus far (granted, I've been overleveled due to doing Life/Misc. quests), and the characters are pretty static, but the game's more about doing your own thing than it is following a story, so it isn't too big an issue.

Would definitely recommend to people who enjoy RPGs and sandbox games (it isn't like Minecraft or Terraria, but you still get quite a bit of freedom to do what you want, sort of like in Harvest Moon and Rune Factory).

Indeed, I recommend it to anyone! I've been having so much fun with this. All the characters are enjoyable and I really can't find a single character I dislike either. I've been playing the game a whole lot recently and can't seem to put it down. Everyone should buy it!

I really enjoy the fact you can go everywhere and anywhere. Also, Ryan managed to make me a really cool sword and some awesome gear too so I'm doing pretty well for myself. Currently in the Port Puerto storyline.

I've gotta ask, what is you guys favorite monster you've encountered?

I'll share some of my pictures in this thread soon. :)

I can't recommend any game more strongly than this one. I've absolutely fallen in love with it. I got it a week ago, and already have 120+ hours into it. I've achieved creator in all but 4 or 5 lives now, and I'm on my way to level 200. Highly addicting game, lovable characters, enjoyable plot, and nearly endless things to do. The game is as complex as you want it to be.

I've clocked over 30 hours, completed the Al Maajik storyline, and just recently got Master rank in the Angler and Wizard Lives. (I might hit it in the Miner and Woodcutter Lives; I wanted to wait until I completed most/all the Expert quests but have completed a few Master ones so those might nab me the rank.)

I think it was an adorable idea to have credits roll and credit the characters in the game when you achieve Master rank, haha.
(This is a small spoiler for those who haven't achieved Master rank in any Life; it's nothing important to the plot or anything but I've spoiler tagged it just in case people want to discover it for themselves.)

    re: favorite monster, I like the dark dragon in Aridian (Airidian? too lazy to look up correct spelling) Desert. It's badass-looking, difficult to defeat (at least at my level), and is a minion of my favorite character, who I think is adorable ;;

I'm having such a fun time with this game, I've almost completed it. I really love all the characters and things you can do in this game, it's honestly one of the best games that I've played. It's such a shame it's so underrated and not a whole ton of people are playing it compared to other game serious. :(

Did anyone else spend a lot of time creating their character?

I love that there were so many options available.
