It was the 2nd generation, but I am growing to love the 6th generation even more. Kalos is simply stunning, and the Pokémon there are super awesome. However, the 2nd generation was the generation that I've solidified my love for Pokémon even more, and not to mention it has the best starters (favorite is the Chikorita line!). It's incredible <3

For Pokémon, it'd be gen 5 (Don't hate me for it!)

But for everything else, gen 6. With the megas, new graphics, updated mechanics and my favorite region (Kalos) gen 6 was just brilliant.

Generation II, also known as Pokémon games Gold / Silver / Crystal, for multiple reasons. Beautiful graphics, beautiful colours, & Crystal was the first Pokémon game to include animations. Also, nobody can forget this.

    II > I > V > VI > IV > III

AKA probably the most hated opinion on the internet.
I feel like I'm the only one in existence who didn't like Gen III all that much.

I loved every generation, but my favourite is Gen 3. I loved fighting both Magma and Aqua in Emerald, and of course, there's the legendary catching. The latest gens are awesome as well, and I'm still hella nostalgic about Kanto :D THEY'RE ALL SO FREAKING AWESOME !!

5th generation was really good. Pokémon successfully pulled off quite an amazing sequel and I'm proud of them for making 2 great game sets.

-Almost all of my favorite Pokémon are here!
-here's come from cinthia, the coolest leader ever!
-get's barry, the most funny rival!
    -awsome music!
-and my firt Pokémon ever played

Gen 6, for sure! The graphics were what hooked me in the first place. X was such a magical game for me, I just love everything about it!

Personally I love Gen III and Gen I! Gen III because, well, the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald games were incredible; they had loads of stuff that you can always get back to and play, like with the storyline with Team Aqua and Team Magman, or if you're playing Emerald that'd be the both of them. Also hey had one of the best post games, at least for me on Pokémon Emerald, since the Battle Frontier is always awesome to play against, even if we'r ejust learning about EV/IVs at the time. c:

Now, me liking Gen I might be an unpopular opinion but, y'know, those are games that I can never really dislike or find boring; I grew up with those games and even now, I really, really like the music that the game boy produced for the games. Like seriously, have you heard the Vermillion City theme:

It's really spectacular, imo! So yeah, the music was a plus for me, as well as the general battles.. in which Yellow was the first game that had that sorta challenge for me when playing any sort of Pokémon games because the levels just shoot up, but otherwise, the battles were pretty unforgettable, like when it came down to the Elite Four? THAT was pretty epic. <3

The third generation and Hoenn! I love the region and Pokémon designs there. It introduced some of my all-time favorite Pokémon like Altaria, Zangoose, Absol, Flygon, Metagross, and plenty others, plus it has one of my favorite overall human Pokémon characters (Steven). My Pokémon obsession was at its peak during the R/S days so that only fueled my love for it. <3

I really like all the generations with a smattering of favourite Pokémon in every generation but I say the 3rd generation is the best one for me! Most of my favourite Pokémon are in this generation and I love the region and what you have to go through in order to complete the game! Having competitions is an added bonus since it allows a different gameplay into a familiar game :3

The fourth generation. I really love the plot and the cross generational evolutions. It made a huge step for Pokémon with the physical special split and really memorable characters.

I think Generation III is my personal favorite. A lot of my favorite Pokémon (Gardevoir, Mawile, Absol, Milotic) are from that generation, and Hoenn is one of my favorite regions of all. Generation IV is a close second though, as the Sinnoh region is my absolute favorite region, and it has some other Pokémon that belong on my list of favorites (Froslass, Gallade). However, Generation III also brought us Pokémon Firered and Leafgreen, which are the first Pokémon games that I ever played, and that's how I got into Pokémon in the first place. So maybe it should be a tie between III and IV, I don't know :P

Gen 1, hands down! It's the one I grew up with, the one I'm most familiar with, and the one that will always be close to my heart. Sure, if you compare it to the later Generations, it seems almost backwards, but it's still fun. Pokémon never regained the hype and popularity that it captured in the 90s with Gen 1.
