We had a thread like this before, but it's time to step it up a notch since this one big forum now. What is your favorite past generation out of the list in the poll? Mine would be Generation 4! Huge improvement on the others in my eyes. They brought us Platinum and HGSS, which are some of my favorite games. I loved the new evolution's in the original Gen 4 games. So cool!

I have to go for Gen 4 as well, although I wouldn't have if it didn't see the remakes of Gold and Silver. I can't really go on saying Gen 2 when there are superior versions of my favorite games from the series. The old 8-bit Gen 2 is still nostalgic for me but I can't ignore the awesome remakes.

I like Gen 4. Mostly because its where I started my Pokémon journey and that will always be special to me.

I have to say gen 4 too. Just as Achromatic said it had a huge improvement. I really liked the Pokémon and how the games were made and the HGSS. But still my favourite game is diamond because it was my first Pokémon game that I had ever played and I just loved it. :3

I thought Gen 4 sucked. The contests just got bland, secret bases got shafted with plain unnecessary and even bad additions, there was STILL no secondary continent you could go to etc. I would've voted for Gen 4 too if we talked about remakes, HGSS is awesome, but I don't so I'll just leave it at gen 3.

Eh, I didn't like gen 4 all that much. I keep forgetting that I have played the games :C For some reason to me, it's not memorable. But hey, if you like it, awesome 8D
My favorite is now kind of a 50/50 between Gen 2 and Gen 3. (voted for 2 though). The games were a lot of fun. I liked most of the Pokémon that were introduced and I didn't mind all 3 starter Pokémon either.

I vote for Gen 3. I started with FireRed so I'm kind of partial to it. Although Gen 2 and 4 were awesome as well, Gen 2 because I played Gold for a while, and Gen 4 because it stepped up how I played the franchise.

I voted generation II because it brought lots of changes and because of nostalgia.
Both generation II and III revamped and upgraded the series a lot.

All generation IV upgraded was the physical/special split. It was still a good gen, though, of course.

Gen IV for me! Diamond was the first Pokémon game I'd ever owned myself. Id played the previous generation games, but they were always copies from friends, never my own. I just really enjoyed the Pokémon and map of the Sinnoh region.

Gen 4. Platinum and Heart Gold/Soul Silver are just amazing.

Normally all generations have good and bad sides. When I must choose one I would say I like the second gen the most. I liked the Pokémon and in games you was able to breed the first time, you had day and night and you were able to visit the old region. That was awesome!
I didn't like generation 4 so much, the story was boring and I didn't like a lot Pokémon from these gen.

Only two of them entered my heart:

    End of story.

well generation 1 is the best for me and for a lot of people that i know because well i kid from that generation.
in fact i looked the whole gen 1 and then 2 and then stopped looking because i didnt had time.
so now i looking to all generations.
note the first gen you saw will be your favorite due to nostalgia
kids that never watched gen 1(where not born yet) will probably dont like it
    for me its a classic,
back when there was brock and misty and ash together and not those new guys may and dawn...
    ^^
it was a treasure for my childhood and it still :)

Gotta rep what I started with. Generation 4 always provides me with the best memories. Whether it was kicking Cyrus' ass, catching Palkia to that awesome theme tune, winning my first champion battle, or even bugging my Dad to get Platinum on release day, that generation just provides an undeniably amazing nostalgia that I wish I could recreate. Now I have to feel awkward about asking my parents to drive me to the nearest GameStop for a Pokémon game. Now I feel outcasted being one of the few people who like Pokémon in my school. The good old days of always having someone to play with have faded into a distant memory, and that memory always makes me happy.

    That's why I'm picking Gen. 4.

That was one of my first reasons I loved Gen 2, I freakin love red <3 Then I came to love the music, Pokémon, story, yada yada ect. ect.
But I haft to go with gen 3, Ruby was my first main series game (With colosseum being my first Pokémon game ever, but that was like, Gen 2 I think..) and I loved it. Granted I got lost on where to go literally just before you get the legendary and started over then never continued until like, a year or two later and I got lost on victory road cause I stupidly forgot how important flash is and teached a move over it DX
I have no idea where my ruby version is, seeing as my brother lost it some time ago, but I still search for it now and then hoping to find it xD
Plus FireRed and LeafGreen where epic. (Besides the whole 'giving Red brown hair' thing, wich bothered me at first, but not anymore)
    Nuff' said.
(Ignore my first post, I was being stupid and accidentally sent it twice xP)

Generation 4. It had some really cool legendaries, and I liked a lot of the evolutions that were added. Granted, some of them (Lickilicky) are incredibly stupid and have no real need to exist, but then there are things like Weavile which fit so perfectly that sometimes I forget they're from fourth gen. Team Galactic is probably the most threatening evil team in any Pokémon game to date. Seriously though, Cynthia is a damn cool champion.

My favorite has to be Gen IV. Almost half of my favorite Pokémon are 4th Gen (the other half being Gen III), and the ones that aren't my favorites are usually great as well! (Shut up Rhyperior and Lickilicky) The legends were badass overall, and, on top of that all, Cynthia has to be one of my all-time favorite characters!
But I also like Gen I a lot, because, y'know, nostalgia shizzle...
