Favorite Rival from the Anime

I have to say Paul. He was a cool character and felt like the original video game rival. He always looked down on Ash and was almost always an obstacle in Ash's way, showing him that he isn't the strongest out there. The only thing I didn't like about Paul was when he abandons one of his Pokémon cause it was too weak, but other than that he was really good.

 

Paul for a few reasons: I would pick Gary but I felt a stronger connection with Paul and Ash throughout the Sinnoh region. Paul's method is different and his method + Personality crashes with Ash termendously. What I love about these two are their Pokémon battles. Their battles were always intense and even Ash was extremly depressed after his one battle with Paul. The final battle was the best rival battle in my eyes. Like other battles by them this was an intense battle but I couldn't take my eyes off it until the very end! It was such a great battle. This rivalary had the most character development which is why I've chosen him as my favorite rival.

 

my favourite rival was cameron because i liked his style and hoped for there would be more cameron vs ash in the series

 

For some reason I like Gary. It has been Ash's very first rival from the beginning. And it still is!

 

Gary. As much as Paul is cool and all, he is a carbon copy of Silver really, and I kind of don't like that. Gary has character development somewhat, though he is still the same Oak I love <3 I also like Drew, the one battle he had with Ash was surprising and cool, but Gary will always be my favorite rival <3
