Well, I might as well jumpstart this subforum to ask what what are your favorite ROM Hacks(I didn't see an active topic on the matter). These ROM Hacks can range from Pokémon to Mario hacks. But there is a difference between hacks and actual games. For instance, the popular Zeta and Omnicrom are actual games made with a gamemaker. So with that said my favorite game has to be not even a Pokémon hack(weird since I hack them).

My favorite hack has to be Mario's Adventure, a hack of Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. It has new powerups and is extrememly difficult, but that is remedied by having unlimited lives, so you can easily jump back in, once you play. Also, the levels were given a complete makeover and it has a weather module which changes the way you play each level according to the weather. It is such a great hack and any platformer veterans will love it :D

I personally like Pokémon Light Platinum. It was really long and it had a lot of different things fit into a game. I liked the redone graphics and the storyline and a whole bunch of things.

The only ROM hacks I ever played are Pokémon Snakewood and Pokémon Omicron, but I have to say that Pokémon Zeta/Omnicron are absolutely amazing, they're really well done.

Yeah. Zeta and Omnicron are actual fan games since they use a .exe file to run rather than a ROM file(.gba, .nes etc). But I will agree it was really well made. As for Snakewood, I never really gotten into that particular hack, I probably should :p

Light Platinum was my favourite ROM hack I ever played. Other ones were Flora Sky, Volt White/Blaze Black(IDK if that's what it was called).

Pokémon Zeta and Pokémon Omicron are by far my favorite ROM hacks ever made. They are pretty much all you can ask from a hacked Pokémon game to be. The creator of this hack (suzerain, if I remember correctly), has done an incredible job at this nearly perfect hack:

    - Two entirely new regions, made from scratch, unlike other hacks that just take an existing region and change some small things. I personally never actually got to the second region at all, but the first one was simply amazing. It just seemed so good, it might as well have been an actual region.
    - You are playing on a Generation III emulator, but the game has Pokémon from all generations, including the Kalos Pokémon. You also have the special and physical split, Fairy typing, re-usable TM's, and even freaking Mega Evolutions, all put into one game.
    - The story is more intense as I've ever seen in any other real Pokémon game. Even X&Y with the 3D technology can't top the amazing plotline this hack throws at you. And they bring you the fan favorite characters from other games as well, such as N and Cyrus!
    - The music, god the music! This is the only game where I don't even want to use a single Repel, because the random encounter music is so damned epic! I don't know if they made any of the soundtracks themselves, or they just took the best music from other games, but they did an excellent job at it.
    - In-game challenge modes! No more cheating because that Nuzlocke death was really unfair, the game will make sure you can't revive it. Randomizers are ready to go, along with many other challenges that I have never even heard of.
    - And let's not forget all the extra features! HM replacing items, the best thing ever! IV Stones, to guarantee that your Pokémon will be the very best! And Secret Bases, they are at their best! So much to do in those bases alone, I spent a couple of hours before leaving it.
    - Side quest, lots of them. At least 50% of the NPC's in this game serves an actual purpose! One of the prime examples would be a random sick man, who gives you the TM for Acid in return of an Antidote. There's so much to do in these games, you won't get bored ever!

I feel like I'm straight up advertising these hacks, or praising them as gods, but this is only what I could come up with from the top of my mind. It's been months since I've played these hacks, but I still remember the awesomeness of it :D

I very much enjoyed Pokémon Light Platinum. It was a different story. Lots of adventure, lots of fun, even though there were a few bugs here and there lol.
Plus, it allowed me to have all 5 gen fire type starters in 1 party, heh.. :3

Wow, hard choice.... I have to say it's Ruby Destiny III. Ruby Destiny III was the best experience I ever saw. You get a Riolu in the storyline, which I carried through the entire game. You can get all of the starters, so no missing out, but the plot and the music is what did it for me. The music is spot-on and sounds amazing, and the plot had me on the edge of my seat... No ROM hack has ever given me such experience.

I liked FloraSky, although I never finished that because I lost a couple hours of progress and didn't want to go through that again.

Flora Sky had an extremely lengthy but well-planned post-game. It is one of my favorite Pokémon ROM Hacks.

My favorite ROM Hack is "The Legend of Zelda - Parallel Worlds", specifically, the Remodel version. The original is great, too, but all its dungeons required knowledge of speedrunning tricks (bomb jumping, etc.) to get through them. The Remodel changed all the dungeons so that they're difficult for legitimate reasons (well-made traps, great puzzles, strong enemies, etc.). It's a hack of A Link to the Past, and I even have a reproduction cartridge of the Remodel that I can play on my SNES.

I would recommend it to any Zelda fan.

My favorite is Flora Sky, you could just play it for a long time and it wasn't boring!

It was very well made for a rom hack!
