I honestly liked playing Brawl the most. I remember one time I was at high school during a Christmas party, and we all decided to have a small tournament. I managed to win a round through shear luck. Playing Lucario, I was staying away from the other players to recover a bit as an explosive barrel dropped right on top of them while they were fighting, knocking them both out. One of my favorite moments that I remember fondly. XD
I have the fondest memories of Brawl. Me and my sister used to play it all the time together. I don't really have any attachment to 4 or 64. Melee was a close second~
I only got Smash Bros. first during the late Brawl Era, A.K.A. 2012-2014. I thus have never played 64 or melee except a couple times at my cousins house. I liked Brawl overall more than Smash4 because of the story mode. I will admit though that I am better as Sonic in Smash 4 than in Brawl.
Brawl's character roster isn't as great as Sm4sh's, but it wins my vote because it's the game that I've had the most fun with. My brother and I would rent it from the video store back when it was new, and few things would beat getting up early in the morning to play the Subspace Emissary or some free-for-alls together.
Brawl, the story mode was something that I did with my brother and it brought us much closer together. I have played all other and while the roster of 4 is better suited to me, Brawl still wins.
Super Smash Bros for the 3DS is by far my favorite Smash title. It's incredible that you can play Smash on the go. There are also so many different unlockable customizations you can use for a huge variety of characters.
I would say 3DS, but I've had far less memories with that than I did with Melee and Brawl, with Brawl ever so slightly edging out over Melee.
Does Project M count? ._. If so, then that, since that was what I played the most with friends in Smash club. If not, probably Melee for the same reason.
Brawl definitely. Mostly because it was my first smash game. Spent hours and hours playing it with my siblings. (Just realised this is my 666th post. Haha)
I've played Brawl and a teensy bit of SSB4. But Subspace Emissary is the thing I loved most about Brawl. I really enjoy Story Mode and bits like that, and SSB4 having that was what made it my favourite. I know the entire story by heart, and my friend and I are bumbling through it for the first time! Can't wait to beat the game. Although I am very, very far from it - just got halfway through.
64, since it was the first Smash game I played. My sister and I practically decimated our N64 system with all the hours spent on that game. haha
All of them, for different reasons. SSB64 was my first owned console game (I bought it the same day I bought my N64) and I would spend hours upon hours just playing it and having fun. When Melee came out, I got a Gamecube and that game with it (as well as the Legend of Zelda 4-pack and Metroid Prime). Not only would I spend hours upon hours playing it, I eventually got into playing competitively (though, while I didn't realize it at the time, my biochemistry would prevent me from being successful as a competitive player). My brother was the one who got Brawl, ironically; we got it on the midnight release (and tried to participate in the mini-tournament set up by Gamestop, though the Wiimotes kept disconnecting and made playing nigh-impossible) and played that all the time as well (we were still playing 64 and Melee). By the time SSB4 came out life had happened and I no longer had any of my consoles, but because I was working I decided to get a 3DS and the portable copy of that game. Never played online because the lag was nearly unbearable, but I loved having Smash on the go.
Brawl. I know it isn't the best Smash game to be played competitively, but it was the first smash game I've ever played. It was one of the games I played frequently besides Pokémon. I really loved the graphics, the music, and I really loved the SSB story mode. Also, I find it the best Smash game to play with the items on.
3DS/Wii U because I love the art style and all the stages, characters, and remixes. Edit: Now it’s Super Smash Bros Ultimate. It just got revealed and it’s amazing
