The strings, drums, and the goshdarn piano are all so perfect! Xenoblade's soundtrack is easily the best soundtrack I've heard in a video game (Fire Emblem: Awakening is veeeery close) but this song in particular is my favourite.
Yoko Shimomura, I salute you. Let's hope that Hiroyuki Sawano can do just as good of a job in Xenoblade X

I have so many favorite video game songs that picking just one is hard! But a top favorite of mine has always been Night Flight from the first Spyro the Dragon game; I really love the vibe that it gives off, mixed with liking the stage itself a lot.

Even if the game is in 8-Bit; I've seen a ton of Gold/Silver/Crystal's OST be transformed into an amazing, orchestrated master pieces. (GSC has my favorite soundtrack from the Pokémon Series for sure.) However, over all...

This is one of the reasons why I like D/P so much. I remember hearing this as a kid and it was the most calming and relaxing song I have ever heard, and I still like it to this day. Nothing can beat this song in my opinion.

Kingdom Hearts as a whole has some of the best music I've ever heard, and I'm hoping that trend is kept in the upcoming games

My favourite Pokémon game music is the Apple Woods theme from PMD Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky.

 

My two absolute favourite songs from video games are the Opening Theme from Modern Warfare 2 and Elizabeth's Theme from Bioshock Infinite. The latter is way too beautiful and I just have a thing for instrumentals.

Oftentimes my days are spent migrating around Youtube looking for video game tracks, or remixes thereof, so almost my entire library of music consists of such. And while I've never played Sonic Generations (console or handheld, though I have been dissuaded from the handheld due to lower quality), I have played Sonic 3, and was pleased to find Crush 40(?)'s rendition of Big Arm was absolutely spectacular. It's held that spot since early 2012, and has yet to be unseated.

There are also all of the other albums of remixed video game music I follow, and that, while the renditions aren't technically part of a video game, their originals are. And currently, I am enthralled with a celestial-sounding remix (hence why it appeals to me) of the boss theme from Etrian Odyssey III:

...which is yet another game I don't have and want to play. Etrian Odyssey III is really high on the list I try to find remixed tracks for since I adore the originals, and a great deal of those are found in Etrian Mystery Dungeon (which I do own), thus further cementing the idea. I will not lie; "Hoist the Sword with Pride in the Heart" and "The End of the Raging Waves" (a track which is slowly climbing up my list and might even unseat Big Arm) are two of the best video game tracks I've ever come across.

 

I have quite a handful of game music that I love; Game OST's are amazing honestly. A few of my favorites are A Future for the Krogan from Mass Effect 3, Sad Monster from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and Simple and Clean from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.
