I promise, the next one will not be as linked to smogon as the last couple have been

Smogon has 5 tiers in total (I'm not counting PU as a tier) and they all have their strengths. OU is the most popular tier with the most mega-evolutions whilst UU is a slower tier with a better pace, RU is a new up-and coming tier after it's relatively long and stally down and NU is a confined tier, despite the amounts of Pokémon.

All of these tiers give a different experiences, so tell me, what is your favorite tiers? Is there any tiers that need some TLC or a rethink? Give me your opinions!

I don't really like Smogon's tiers, but out of them I like the OU most. My favorite format/metagame doesn't count as a tier, since it well, it doesn't have tiers. It is PokeBattleValue 1000, PBV 1000 in short. If you have played Saishidou, it's essentially the same the, but without the turn limits. Reason for this similarity might be partially due to how [member='Bryce D'] used to be a programmer of PokeBattle, where PBV 1000 was played.

I had my first few Showdown victories last weekend, and I didn't look at my tiers during team construction. When I finally did check them a few hours ago preparing for the showdown tournament (for which my isp decided to troll me by not letting my browser reach the showdown server), I found out that my two main fighters on that team were both PU! I don't know for sure what that means (I have a guess), but it's populated by species like Minun and Ditto and Watchog. The remainder of my winning team was two RUs and a UU and a NFE, so maybe I tend to aim to the unpopular or unexpected sorts.

I swear I'm not a hipster, but I do have something of an aversion to the hive mind, in this case meaning all those OU legendaries and 600 beast ubers and whatnot. I've never used a legend in a showdown battle ever, or in the games (not including Delta Episode) after my first Sapphire run. It could be a pro-underdog mentality, but so far it seems to be working for me. Some folks don't expect the unexpected, I guess.

If LC doesn't count then I like OU a lot. I pretty much suck at every other tier, well besides Ubers, but that got boring to me after a while. I've only played each tier once back in B/W when I was still a newcomer to competitive Pokémon as well, but still.

If LC does count, however, then I have to say I like LC. Honestly I think it's a fun tier, and I don't really see the same Pokémon almost every match like in OU. LC really gives me a fresh new experience, not only that, but you have to be a little creative if you ask me.
