History is both expansive and uncertain, with many events being uncertain or unknown. That which is known is often interesting and insightful, making you think about past events and current ones more carefully and thoroughly. There're horrific occurrences as well as joyous ones, periods of calm and others filled to the brim with activity.

Is there an overall time period you enjoy learning about, or a time period within one country or continent? A specific battle that leaves you awed, or financial and political decisions that you like to ponder about? Relationships between people, countries or empires that inspire you, or trouble you? Share your favourite(s) with us!

Well, I personally find the stories of the ancient Roman empire pretty awesome. I have a friend who knows very much about history, and I could listen to his stories all day (even though I sucked at history because I simply didn't care XD)

World War 2 for me. I'm a war geek I guess and the Americans did some pretty badass things once they got in :P

I think the Sengoku Jidai is my favourite era. I have a thing for Japanese culture, and for some reason this era specifically interests me a whole lot. I like Samurai and Ninjas a whole lot, and I guess video games based on that era are probably a major reason why I like it so much...

Also, I like the Viking era, mainly because of Ranger's Apprentice/Brotherband and their mythology.

I love learning about World War II. The rise of facism, the conversion of Germany from a poor, struggling nation trying to shake off the effects of World War I, the Great Depression, and the Treaty of Versailles back to a militaristic country that intimidated the world, the desperate attempts of the Allies to placate Germany without war, the inevitable war and its tides... I just can't learn enough!

I love learning about mythology, so maybe it's kinda dumb but I love learning about Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt. Their mythology is fascinating, as are the pyramids and all that too!

Unfortunately school is lacking in that category. :U

I really love the Josean era. I love all their clothing, food, and history. It's so interesting to learn how the culture worked in the past, and how much things have changed since then with the emperors and the change in society. The overall legacy of the era left a huge impact on the culture in Korea nowadays, with the dialect and traditions. I think that's just amazing.
