there are many singers around the world. they have different singing styles for they are known. Everyone has a reason to like a singer. so what's your reason? why you like that singer the most? well i don't have a particular singer as my fav, the singer who has good lyrics and the way of singing is my fav. i listen the songs of Justin bieber, Taylor swift, Enrique iglesias and sometimes Akon.

I like Sia, Sia's song are always powerful and they always deliver her message really well. Plus they're catchy so that's a good bonus xD

I like a lot of alternative rock bands like Coldplay and The Killers and that's what I listen to often.

I've recently got into dancehall, specifically Major Lazer too so yay!

I can't think of any more at the moment but I'll add more if I remember :D

I like all VOCALOID music. I don't know the names of the character's actual voices, but my favourite is the girl who's voice is the Kagamine twins.

I also like the lead singer from supercell.

Trevor McNevan. He's lead singer of Thousand Foot Krutch. The range of his voice is pretty impressive, though.

I'm a selective country music listener, although some video game music or anime songs sometimes get sprinkled in. Christina Vee, the voice of shantae, has a pretty decent voice and I enjoy a lot of the songs she sings. My favorite singer would probably be carrie underwood, as she has an incredible voice and sings a lot of really cool sounding songs.

I like to think I'm pretty multi-genre, but as far as vocalists go, there are two main kinds I like: mid-century jazz singers, and the kind I'll link to in #3.

#1: Frank Sinatra. Really, how could I not mention the Chairman himself. I wish I could sing like him (who doesn't?), but I think I'd be a better Dean Martin impersonator. Many people say Sinatra is the best singer of the last century, and I'm likely to agree.

#2: Julie London. I don't know much of her music, the linked song in particular shakes me to my core. I once met a lady who could do a pretty good impression of Miss London, and I really enjoyed listening to her sing.

#3: Joseph Duplantier: A contemporary singer from France (mostly singing in English), I think he demonstrates great consistency with his style, and demonstrates a degree of control that's not so common in his field. (Also, hooray for sophisticated, low-budget art-house music videos!)

Even though I mainly to anime songs and VOCALOID, I think Taylor Swift has a really outstanding voice. Whenever I listen to radio, most of the songs from female artists sound kinda samey, but I don't feel that way about Taylor Swift. But of course the greatest singer of all time is him.

For more mainstream music I love Hozier's voice. It's just unique and really suits his music. For raw talent I'd have to say Richie Kotzen, the fact that he's able to sing as well as he does while playing some fairly complicated guitar parts without a plectrum and playing next to arguably the best bassist and drummer in the world in The Winery Dogs. But my personal favourite has to be Miles Kennedy, not only for his incredible voice but for the fact that he writes the songs (along with Mark Tremonti) for probably my favourite band Alter Bridge.

But yeah they're all incredibly talented guys. As for female singers, honestly most of their voices sound fairly similar to me so it's difficult to decide on a favourite, at least for more mainstream singers. I guess I'd have to go with Lzzy Hale, just for well it suits their music.

Excluding anime, my favourite singers and bands have to be these (no order):

    - Michael Jackson
    - The Beatles
    - Europe
    - ABBA
    - Phil Collins
    - Mister Mister
    - George Michael
    - John Farnham
    - Katy Perry (I don't listen to newer music, but I really love Katy Perry)

They all have really beautiful songs that I'd rather listen to than today's music... all with beautiful meaning.

One of my favorites right now is Marina and the Diamonds. I've been listening to her stuff for awhile, but I'm really on a kick right now. I've had her second album Electra Heart on repeat for the past month. It's a really insightful album, delving into various "archetypes" of women in American culture, and it's really overall an analysis of how many people expect women to be cookie-cutter rather than what they are -- people.

Not to mention, it's got quite a few songs on it that make me want to drink pink wine coolers, pop bubblegum and break a boy's heart, which is always a fun mindset to get into.

My favorite artist is probably Black Veil Brides. At first glance they look like just a bunch of emo fags who promote suicide, but they're the exact opposite. Their songs have such meaningful messages and they're so awfully stereotyped. They're such an amazing band and actually saved my life. The stereotypes that they promote suicide and all that Rent true at all. Their music has meaning and is better than most of the poppy crappy modern music that's playing nowadays. Just listen to 'Savior' or 'The Legacy' or 'Never Give In' and you'll see what I mean

My favourite singer would definitely have to be Michael Barnes from Red, his voice has a huge range and really drives the emotional feelings that songs by Red elicit. And, Shadow Absol, I'm sorry you ever had to go through that :( If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm open. Also, I recommend that you give Red a try since you seem to like hard rock and metal so much (just like me!) and the meaning behind their songs gave me hope when I was struggling, anyway, Michael Barnes FTW!!!

My favorite singers in no particular order:

    Tier 1
    -Freddie Mercury
    -Ronnie James Dio
    -Robert Plant
    -Meat Loaf
    -Bruce Dickinson
-Tom Keifer (during his time with Cinderella, he was amazing)

    Tier 2
    -Axl Rose
    -Steven Tyler
    -Brian Johnson

All of them were extremely powerful rock vocalists at some point in their career.

So, some of my favourite singers would be some very obscure artists, plus one or two more mainstream groups.

    My favourite Singers would be:
Risa Orabe (LiSa (Yui's singing voice in Angel Beats))
Harry James Angus and Felix Riebl (The Cat Empire)
    Asgeir Trausti
Nanna Himasrdottir and Ragnar Porhallsson (Of Monsters and Men)
    Mica Penniman (MIKA)
    Ed Sheeran
    Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc)
    Missy Higgins

All of these people have such intoxicating voices that make me feel such emotion. Risa, Asgeir and the OMaM duo have such calming voices, as does Ed Sheeran. Missy Higgins and MIKA have such powerful voices that have so much emotion behind them, and their music is awesome. Then Rai and the Cat Empire singers just have such energy in their singing...

Oh yea, also, Nathan Sharp (NateWantsToBattle), but unlike the others, there are actually times where I don't think his voice works very well.

    Isn't a tiering system a particular order?

I lisaten to alot of japanese music so to be honest i know bands and groups more than singers since I don't actually speak japanese. The lead singers for T.M. Revolution and Siam Shade are two of my favorites. For music in english, it really goes song to song... except linkin park. Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington are my favorites on that side. Other than that I just go so by song untill I've heard enough by one band to say "yeah I really like this singer".

Personally I love Voltaire, for the simple reason of his songs have amazing lyrics and I love singing along to them. But really, I like most music that's easy to sing along to =w=b

I have way too many favorites, but I'll list some anyways.
The Queen of Jazz, Ella Fitzgerald. She has one of the most uplifting music I've ever heard and just listening to her music makes me happy.
Sam Smith - Something about his songs just makes me feel something. His voice has so man emotions that I absolutely adore.
Demi Lovato - She has such a strong sound and ahh. Her singing gives me chills.
LEE HI - I'M SORRY BUT SHE HAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND SHE'S ONLY 19. One of my favs.

I'm not one for vocals in my songs. I prefer instrumentals far above songs with lyrics. However, Les Friction's singer blows me away with his talent. He has a massive range and manages to put a ton of emotion into his voice when he's singing.
