Who is your favourite writer for anime, light novel or manga? Do you like certain writers over others?

I think that my favourite light novel author would be Satoshi Wagahara (even if he has only done one series...) DiaPT is an awesome series, I love it so much.

As for anime writers, Gen Urobuchi and Key are probably my two favourites. They write amazing animes that are just awesomely crafted and show how animes that aren't adapted from a manga can be extremely awesome (especially without this kinda guy...

Hirohiko Araki, the author of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. He is absolutely amazing, and all of his creations are really great. We must praise him. I can't wait to see where he goes with Jojolion. 8)

Koushun Takami gets my vote. Battle Royale was such an underrated book that was so well thought out and written. It would get my vote any day.

Mine Yoshizaki (Keroro Gunso/Sgt. Frog) wins mine by default, since I don't watch a whole lot of anime. In the few years that I did check in with the KG anime and manga volumes, I'd really liked what I'd seen/read! The series may be pretty goofy and lighthearted most of the time, but a few of the episodes and just about all of the movies had some definite emotional bits in them. That, and just about every character is enjoyable in their own way. I was happy to hear when Yoshizaki decided to make a reboot flash series of the show some time last Spring.

Akira Toriyama, without fail. Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball will always be keepers to me. Honorable mention for Tite Kubo, too. As much as I berate his recent story directions, I can never really tell what's going to happen next, other than when he sets something in motion, it could potentially take a long while to play out on paper.

CLAMP, even though they're a group. I love a ton of their mangas! And also Sorachi Hideaki, Gintama is awesome.

Even though I haven't read too much Manga series, my favourite has to be Hidenori Kusaka, writer for Pokémon Adventures. Have you seen his stories? They are amazing, and I feel too drawn into them to put the books down. His stories made me cry, laugh and go on an adventure as if I were there.
