What do you think they will turn out like? There's been a lot of speculation in our threads, and a lot of fan art. I'm guessing most people are thinking Fennekin will turn out to be a Fire/Psychic, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out as a Fire/Dark, after all it's a fox of sorts, foxes aren't that friendly.

Also, please don't spam this thread with "CONFIRMED FOR FIRE FIGHTING" it's funny, yeah, but it's not worth posting unless you are actually serious about your claim. So tell us here, what do you think our new starters will turn out like when they reach their final stages of evolution?

I haven't thought of what elements they all are going to be but I do keep thinking that Chespin's evolution might be Grass Dark. I don't really know why I'm leaning that way but I am. Maybe it's a small hope. Even Grass/Fighting would be pretty interesting to see. Haha. As for looks, I hope they all look pretty cool looking and not like...some creature that was created when someone dropped their spaghetti on the ground.

I'm really hoping we get to see something new, and some typings we haven't seen before. They all have the potential somewhere to be new.

For Fennekin, I think it'll be Fire/ Psychic, Fire/ Dark or Fire/ Ghost. Chespin, maybe Grass/ Poison, Grass/ Fighting or Grass/ Ground. Froakie; possibly Water/ Psychic, Water/ Fighting or Water/ Ice.

I honestly have no clue. Some interesting types would be cool, though, like Grass/ Fighting or Fire/ Poison. :|

I really have no clue what to think. Although my guess is they might do Fire/Psychic, Water/Fighting, Grass Dark, so that each is strong and weak to the others.

Death to fighting type. I'm guessing a grass, fire/psychic, and water/ground.

It's possible that Gamefreak might pull a gen 2 on us and keep all the starters pure types. Fennekin I think will be standing up by its third evolution, along with Froakie. Chespin might adopt a Sandslash-like pose, I think.

Im thinking/hoping its Water/Poison, Fire/Psychic and Grass/Dark. Itd give them an advantage against your rivals starters late in the game, and I feel they fit.

im leaning towards grass/ground, fire/psychic and water/ice. im not a fan of the "popular" theory that we're gonna have grass/dark, fire/psychic and water/fighting, simply because its boring and like every new generation you get people whining for it. everyone's dying to replace the original elemental trio with these types and i don't know why, so then it seems like they just try to lump them into dual types with water, fire and grass. i do wanna see unique typings but come on people :D

Maybe they will turn out pure types, that could be interesting! Certainly would give fans a bit of a shock, I think.

I wouldn't have any problem with pure types but I can't see it happening. I'm leaning towards Fire/Psychic, Grass/Ground and Water/Poison right now, though there's so little to base it off of.

I would actually love to see a Grass/Ground typing. I don't particularly like Fennekin, so I don't really care what it turns out to be. Grass/Ground and a DECENT Water/Fighting would be pretty groovy, though.

But hey, who knows. They might just be all pure types.

I don't think that they will be pure, just the way they look turns me away form that. But following the type effectiveness I would say that we might have a grass/dark, water/poison and a fire/fairy I don't know why no one has thought that fenniken could be a fairy type with its release and everything...just my hopes and dreams though

I like that idea. I'd love using a Water/Poison Froakie.

Because I'm a bit of a fan of this other theory though, I have to say this...
I get the feeling that most of you have probably already heard that theory about the starters being based on classes in other RPGs. Chespin being the night, Froakie being the rogue, and Fennekin being the mage. That makes sense to me due to the designs that were released for the second evolutions. If Chespin were to be a knight it would make more sense to me that he would be part Steel, representing a knight's armor.

Of course, there's no proof to that theory, but I like it, and it seems likely enough to, at least, bring up.

There is some sense in that theory but in the beginning you could already see how the starters were going to be. Chespin was a bit more defensive, Fennekin looked special and Froakie seemed offensive. I don't think that the starters are based alone on knights, magi and rogues. Many other contributing factors play into a Pokémon's design. But I must admit, what you're saying does make sense to me.

I wasn't at all meaning to imply that knights, rogues, and mages were the only things these Pokémon were based off of. I meant to just say that it could have been a big contribution to the Pokémon.
