I need this thread back now. I'm a huge fan of Fire Emblem Awakening (No way, you couldn't figure that out XD) and it my fav game of all time.

So feel free to discuss Fire Emblem here since... well... that's what the point of this thread is!

Let me say that Brady is a severely underrated character. I reclassed him to a mage and then into a dark knight. Let's just say that the result was the most powerful team member that I've ever had. He used Galeforce and ran through several maps of his own. Just amazing.

Sorry to bust your happiness but I thought the storyline was awful. awfullllllll compared to any other fire emblem I've played. I'd recommend some of those other GBA fire emblems, the stories were sooooo much better. The gameplay of awakening was much better and crazier though, I enjoyed that a lot. The first Fire Emblem released in America was my favorite though, so many cool characters.

Yeah, I have to be honest, the storyline really wasn't all that great. I love the game for the very awesome unique characters and the gameplay. I think that being the child of Validar was just about the dumbest thing ever. I mean, you don't even look like him no matter what you do!

I see why they needed the future past thing to get more characters with the kids and all... the validar's kid thing was needed for the story to work. Not the only way to do it I guess but it was their choice. I loved the other stories much better, they weren't tied down by the need for time travel but made an actual good story. The characters were also in my opinion not as cool, they were very stereotypical in a lot of respects I thought. The other games had chances to develop the characters whereas awakening just was like yay power of friendship loyalty beat grima yay. No huge betrayals or mistakes or anything. My last complaint was how disconnected the plot was, it was a few different substories that were weakly tied together in the end. Very weakly, only by Lucina complaining about how hard it is to change the future. Yeah lots of complaints there, but it was still a very good game. Lots of fun to go through.

The story was indeed lack luster compared to games like Sacred Stones and Geneology of The Holy War, but that's not to say Fire Emblem Awakening wasn't a bad game - in fact, it saved Fire Emblem from discontinuing it's series!

Which, btw, are you guys excited for the new fire emblem game? c:

I have to say, in my opinion, the characters in Awakening were amazing and I like them a lot more than the characters from the other Fire Emblems I've played. I love every single one of the Awakening cast and think they were all developed so well with all the support conversation, something the other Fire Emblem games lack or have a limited amount of.

YES! It looks so great. Its not one but TWO new games. One is following Awakening's overworld formula and the other uses the linear chapter to chapter formula of past Fire Emblems.
I personally like Awakening's formula better as I'm not a huge fan of linearity but whatever, I'll try to go in as unbiased as possible.

I totally am! I think I'm going to get the Japanese version of the game just so I can get it sooner. I mean, I don't want to wait until 2016 to get such an awesome game.

Who cares about storyline when you can become the most powerful dark paladin of the world ? D8< *ok ok understood, please, have mercy.*

Otherwise the next game seems terrible, even though I don't really understand the differences between the two versions. Is it only the storyline and formula point or does it concern something else ?

I don't think that there are two versions of the game, I think that the game has two different paths. It seems like the game has two sets of characters to choose from. You are supposed to decide between blood or loyalty and I think that's a really cool decision to decide how you want the rest of the game to play out.

In fact, the whole thing is just cool to me.

Oh that would be great ! It sounded weird to me, the content would be so huge inside one game. I hope we'll see some news very soon. ^_^ Did you already start to think about your own choice ?

I think I'll follow the lobster king first. I mean, that guy just looks super cool. I'm really excited for this game, but it could be shorter as a result of the option to choose your own path.

What sorts of features do you guys hope to get form the new fire emblem game? o:

Call me crazy, but, I realllllly hope Fog of War Returns - and Marriages, cause those are always fun. But, i hope that the characters all don't become super, super overpowered like from Awakening.. jut for the sake of a challenge and all!

Should I post in here? Nah. -no seriously that pun was too great to miss-
My favorite characters in the series is Chrom, and recently due to awakening, Robin. I hope in the next FE game, they don't make Chrom as bad as they did in Awakening. I spent hours leveling up Chrom, to make him equal to my other characters.
As far as marriage goes, I loved the concept, and it better return in new games~

Normal Mode in Awakening is so easy when you train. I got Brady's stats to an unbelievable height and he just dominated. Olivia was also super super powerful and the game really wasn't challening in that game mode.

New Features... I think I know what Fog of War is since I played Advance Wars, but I think I don't want that idea because FoW is super annoying. I don't know what else, but I'm hyped for the game.

I bought Fire Emblem 7 on the Wii U eShop a couple days ago. I used to arena and the one save state that Virtual Console games give you to level grind Erk and Guy and now they just rip through anything as a Sage and Swordmaster.
