As I play through my Conquest game on Lunatic Classic mode (pls god help me), I've come to realize that this is the creative challenge I was looking for. As we all know, Fire Emblem has always been a game about Statistics. In order to play the game successfully (aka like a bawss), we must compare and contrast the weapon, movement, and class advantages to disadvantages. Preemptively looking ahead before starting the fight is one of the main ways to play this game at harder difficulties; especially to keep your favorite characters alive.

With how easy it is to get skills now, sometimes it's good to be creative in our selections that are available to us. If we do this, then the use of DLC grinding packs will be virtually useless. (Though there are some DLC that I do highly recommend checking out.) This thread is here to help us explore the ideas of creative characters: character builds and statistics that we normally don't see in the Fates world, but none-the-less are very beneficial for someone who is looking for the challenge they want in Fire Emblem.

    Rules:
1.) This is a discussion thread! Don't just post some statistics and move on to the next thread. Keep this active! If you have an idea for a good character build and haven't tested it out yet, post it here! We can discuss it! XD

2.) Follow Global Rules of course.

3.) If you've done some experimenting and created a unique character on your own, it is recommended that you post the growth stats of that character so we can analyze it!

    DLC Recommendations:
    A.) Vanguard Dawn
If we are able to beat the three bosses at the bottom of the tower, then we can use the skills from these bosses and apply them to different characters without having to promote them to Vanguard. OP!)

    B.) Before Awakening
(Just because Awakening is awesome and this DLC is free.)

    C.) A gift from Anna!
Who doesn't like free DLC that gives us free Seals?

D.) Dread Scroll and Ebon Wing
I got mine because I purchased the Special Edition of Fire Emblem: Fates. Totally worth btw. There are other ways of acquiring the item, though, through DLC.

E.) Any other DLC that gives us a Seal Class l0l.

F.) Ghostly Gold (for Conquest players)
Honestly I do understand that money is severely limited in this play mode. However, with that being said this isn't a necessity. You're going to be using all your gold on skills either way for the most part, so if you already have a very good idea which characters are going to need what skills, you won't need this DLC. However, for those of us like myself who explore different paths and character builds, it might be nice to kill a little mobs real quickly two or three times so we have enough gold to try out what skills work best during growth and at End Game.)

    For the sake of discussion:
It is highly highly highly recommended that before we start experimenting with builds we check the natural growth rates of characters + classes.
Growth Rates for Characters | Growth Rates for Classes. | Image of 1st Gen Character Growth Rates at Classes obtained.

As I mentioned previously, comparing and contrasting preemptively makes the game 10x easier to beat on harder difficulties.

In this area of the thread I will link out to some posts that have amazing character builds on it.

    1st Post Discussion:
Effie, the fastest, strongest, and definitely scariest General on the block. For Conquest.
Oh my Effie. You are so incredibly strong for a tank.

    Natural Growth Rates for Effie:
    HP: 35
    Strength: 60
    Mag: 0
    Skill: 35
    Speed: 50
    Luck: 50
    Def: 35
    Res: 30

Keep her as a Knight until level 15 - 20 then promote her to Ninja via Partner Seal. By this point, have Kaze or if your Avatar's Male and has a talent of Ninja at S rank in order to obtain this class. By level 20, promote her to Master Ninja and watch this character begin to blossom.

    Master Ninja Class Growth rates:
    HP: 5
    Strength: 5
    Mag: 0
    Skill: 20
    Speed: 20
    Luck: 0
    Def: 5
    Res: 20

    Effie as Master Ninja:
    HP: 40
    Strength: 65
    Mag: 0
    Skill: 55
    Speed: 70
    Luck: 50
    Def: 40
    Res: 50

Have Aptitude on her (if you don't mind hacked skills. They are everywhere in castles so you must be careful if you're trying to avoid these.) for a +10% bonus to all stats and you are GTG.

Keep her as a Master Ninja for until level 10 - 15 then promote her back to General. I usually would promote before 15 because Shurikenfaire is not needed on her, however she should be tanky enough in the Defense department (especially with Aptitude on) to sustain for a while. When reclassed to General, through probably not as tanky as she could be, she will have some extreme girth in both Res and Def department and also be stupid fast and stupid strong. She will be the unit you can throw out into the middle of a Horde and cause ultimate Chaos.

Recommended Late Game skills to have on General Ninja Effie:
    Lifetaker/Renewal
    Aegis
    Pavise
    Quixotic

The last skill you can have a variety of options best suited for what you're going against. My recommendations are:

    Lancefaire/Lethality/Aether

    Time to make Shura useful!
    Class: Ballistician
Personal Skill: Highwayman - If the enemy cannot counter-attack, the enemy's Strength and Speed stat drops by 3 at the end of the battle.
    Weapon: Setsuna's Yumi
    Skills:
    - Renewal
    - Opportunity Shot
    - Surefooted
    - Rifled Barrel
    - Counter

This is a pretty simple debuff set up for Shura that shouldn't require much explanation. The cannon receives the debuffing capability of Setsuna's Yumi - not sure if his personal skill affects this or not. If it does, then it's an extra debuff. The strategy is basically just firing from afar with the cannon to soften up enemies. You can give him another weapon if you so desire, but I can't attest to his killing ability. Renewal and Counter are for surviving + weakening targets who manage to get close, and then you have Surefooted to aid in the escape. Opportunity shot gives you a chance at randomly firing your cannon based on skill %, so it's pretty nice to have. Rifled barrel gives you more range.

Shura's growth rates are pretty scary.

Too bad no matter what we do to him he'll still not scratch the surface compared other character's growth rates. At least he's not as bad as Gunther, though, good lawd. :c

That they are; however, his stats don't matter all that much with this build, as its purpose is entirely for debuff utility.
