So far...we know there's the Turtonator, Oricoria (Baile Style), the Litten line, Salandit, and the Alolan Marowak. Do you think, or know if there are going to be more fire types in the line up for this generation? I feel it's somewhat lacking right now. **I do know that the entire alola Pokédex was leaked...but I do not want to touch upon that.** I just want to know from just your pure thoughts and opinions.
Salandits got an evolution and RKS System Fire Silvaly technically counts. Other than those these are the only Fire Types in Alola. Not as bad as Diamond and Pearl where there were only TWO in the whole Sinnoh Dex and that counts Chimchar's line.
Kind of a shame but I suppose it makes a little sense where the region is made up of islands and tons of water. Water seems like kind of a mini-theme in a sense, that's the impression I got from the demo where in battle your active Pokémon's HP/EXP meters pop up in a little splash with watery sound effect. Just is not a real fiery place I guess despite being based on a place known for volcanoes. Like @[member="TheBlazingInfernape"] said could be worse, we've seen worse.
I feel like there is always a lack of fire types. Every generation is feels like if you don't start with a fire type you won't play through with one. Maybe it's because fire types are pretty difficult to design aside from making and orange and put flames all over it. Maybe Nintendo is running out of animals to colour orange?
Makes no sense to me when the temperature is like 80 degrees or more year-round... T^T... Oh well... guess gotta make do with what we got. =/
Is probably the second or third highest concentration of fire types in a game ever iirc (highest being BW2 with 10) if we have access to all before post game that is, I remember DP where we only had two eugh that was a pain in the neck. Fire types tend to not be abundant in pretty much any game.
Fire types aren't that common in any of the generations really, I think there are about 64 pre Alola, which is less than 9% of all Pokémon despite it being a starter type since gen1 (Grass has 95 and Water 126). I'm glad it's at least more than Gen 4 had, but with Alola I have a feeling we will be seeing quite a few past gen Pokémon in the wild, some of which will hopefully be fire type.
In my opinion, it is a shame we dont have more but I personally dont mind too much since the type is usually not the best with duel typeings leaving a very weak pure fire type behind. Also due to where the region is, we dont see a lot of areas for fire types, even if there is a volcano or something, it just isn't the right enviorment for them.
Now that we know the whole dex... There's definitely a stinging lack of fire types. It doesn't help that one of them is version exclusive, either.
