Okay, so I know that the concept of remaking FR/LG seems awfully redundant, what with them being remakes themselves, but think about it- The whole point of remakes is to bring them up to date, and to make them fresh for a new audience. The Kanto games (Not counting Kanto's appearance in HG/SS) hasn't been seen since Gen III, which was the same generation as Hoenn had last been seen up until ORAS. This would introduce Kanto, or at least the classic Kanto games, to a new audience who never played R/B/Y/FR/LG, including myself. I'm going to talk about things I feel would make good changes- First, Mega Evolutions:
    - Mega Butterfree (Reasoning- Beedrill has a Mega, so why should its counterpart be left in the dust? Not sure about typing, but I feel Bug/Psychic would make sense, since it learns plenty of Psychic-type moves as it is.)
    - Mega Machamp (Reasoning- It, Golem (Who I'll talk about in a second), and Alakazam always felt a bit like a trinity to me, so it makes sense. I think it'd probably remain a pure Fighting-type.)
    - Mega Golem (Reasoning- See above. I could see them replacing its Ground-type, but I'm not sure.)
    - Mega Slowking (Reasoning- Slowbro got one, so it seems almost unfair that it doesn't have one, like with Butterfree and Gallade back before it got a Mega. Probably the same typing, I could see it being more offensively-based than its bro. (No, I'm not sorry.))
    - Mega Porygon-Z (I dunno, it'd make sense. Maybe Normal/Psychic or Normal/Electric, or god forbid, Normal/Fairy, but since the former two make so much sense but it didn't have them already, I don't see it happening.)
    - Mega Raichu (Reasoning- Game Freak seem eager to forget Raichu exists, but I could still see this being a strong possibility. I could also see it being Electric/Fighting- I dunno, it seems like it'd fit Raichu. And they seem eager to have new type combinations with some Megas, like Altaria and Sceptile, or at least uncommon ones, like Megazard X and Ampharos, so it could also be Electric/Ground.)
    - Mega Wigglytuff (Reasoning- Like with Alakazam, Machamp, and Golem, I see Pikachu, Clefairy, and Jigglypuff as a trio, so they should all get Megas. I could see it being Fairy/Flying, given how it can float and it's the Balloon Pokémon, but it retaining its regular typing, becoming Fairy/Fighting, or even a pure Fairy-type are things I see happening as well.)
    - Mega Clefable (Reasoning- See above. Fairy/Flying seems likely, with it having wings that it seemingly can't use, although the chances of this would seem less likely if Wigglytuff got that typing. I could see Fairy/Psychic as well.)
    - Mega Hitmons (Reasoning- You'll see later. Hitmonchan could probably have metallic or rocky guarding thingies and boxing gloves, which would make it Fighting/Steel or Fighting/Rock, Hitmonlee... I'm not sure, but I could see Fighting/Dark, as it seems like a dirty fighter to me. Hitmontop is where I'm truly puzzled, but it could probably be a pure Fighting-type.)
    - Mega Mew (Reasoning- See later. Almost certainly Psychic/Fairy.)
So now, for my change ideas:
    - Your starter's Mega Stone is obtained later into the game, about halfway, like in ORAS. For Charmander, you'd get both. The other two's are obtained elsewhere, like in ORAS.
    - Blue/Gary will Mega Evolve his starter in the final battle.
    - You can get every Mega Stone in one game, like in ORAS.
    - There's something like the PokeNav Plus, which will have Amie, PSS, and Super Training in one app, and something like the DexNav as well.
    - The Kanto Pokédex has been expanded a little to accomodate the post Gen I evolutions, such as Crobat. Related to this is the fact that...
    - Karate King now gives you a choice between Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop, who will be at Lv. 30. The one he gives you will hold its Mega Stone. He'll give you the other two once you become the Champion.
    - There will be something like the Delta Episode postgame, perhaps involving the Sevii Islands, which will involve Mewtwo and Mew. It'll probably have you use Mega Mew to take on Mewtwo or something. Before you say how crazy it is that they'd give you an Event Pokémon, you get Deoxys in ORAS, sooo...
Overall, those are my ideas, and in case you couldn't tell, I'm really passionate about Game Freak making something like this. What are your thoughts on the possibility of this happening, and what would you want/expect out of it?

I maintain a hope that they will re make all the Pokémon regions onto the 3DS. I know it's unlikely but think about it. First like you said it can access a fresh audience. Second players would no longer be dependent on Pokémon Link, and slightly more likely to use Pokémon Bank. It would update all of the games so that they had the same canon, like how the changed Mauvile City so that it has connections to Lumiose City. So I hope your right and they remake Kanto.

I like the idea of mega Porygon Z. the only reason it might not get one is because its man made, but it's stone could be the first man made one as well. Sliph Co may even release it as a sort of patch to the faulty glitchy evolution, So design wise it would normalize. Hmm may need to draw this.

I hope it comes to be though, and some of these megas are really cool. I also hope that they someday patch all the remakes so that they are compatible but I'm sure that will never happen either

The reason that this probably won't happen is then they will have to start re-releasing regions every two gens. Next we would have a Kanto, Hoenn and Kalos re-release, and so on and so forth. I understand where you are coming from, but it is highly unlikely for Game Freak to do this.

I suppose so, but this is the first time they've come round to remaking games from a generation with remakes. I suppose we'll need to wait and see, however... I personally don't want Z to happen, if not just because I hated X and Y and Zygarde is the single most disappointing Pokémon ever to me, so I hope they do this or something along the lines of it instead.
