What was your first game? And as a bonus- what got you into Pokémon? For me, my first game was Diamond, and my brother introduced me to Pokémon right as Gen IV was being announced.
Platinum, and was introduced to Pokémon by a friend. have got all the rpg Pokémon games since. Coincidentally, Sinnoh is also my favorite region, and Gallade, introduced in gen 4, is my favorite Pokémon
I got Pokémon Red, Silver, and Gold at the same time, around the age of 8. I was introduced to Pokémon when I was like 3-4. I was at a auction, pretty thrifty place, and discovered a pack of 60 or so trainer cards (Not the actual Pokémon, but trainers, like Recycle!) from base-team rocket. I was so intrigued by the artwork that I had to look farther into it! The one card that I was really intrigued with was That poor Jigglypuff ;n;
My first game was actually Spyro the Dragon for PS1. It's influenced my art quite a bit, as you can probably see. ^-^; As for what got me into Pokémon, I'd say it was the anime. I'm a 90's kid, so I was always waking up early Saturday mornings to watch the first season unfold. I didn't play the games 100% until I watched the movie Jirachi Wish Maker and Emerald version came out. Absol became my favorite Pokémon since then.
Blue for me. =) Everyone in school was playing so naturally I had to get in on it, was hard not to be a pokefan as a kid in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Pokémon helped me learn English and I later got Red for xmas. The addiction only grew from there.
The first game I ever played was Pokémon Blue, though I wasn't able to play much of it because it belonged to my babysitter. The first game I was able to play properly was Pokémon Pearl.
My first game was Blue. I actually got it before the anime aired here, but it sure kept my interest up.
Yellow! It was my first game that I owned ever I think! My dad bought me it. I got to play a friend's red a lot before hand tho!
Pokémon Black! Well, technically Pokémon Rumble Blast but that isn't a core series game. My best friend in first grade introduced me to the Sinnoh anime and Dawn was my absolute favorite character even after watching the previous region animes with her, so I really wanted Diamond and Pearl games. But then my parents bought me Pokémon Black for my tenth birthday (I think?) and I was so overjoyed. It's still my favorite game!
My first game was Heartgold, and is still one of my favorites to this day. I was introduced to it by a friend who always played Diamond.
Pokémon Red. My cousins had a gameboy emulator and a copy of the game in english, which we couldn't read (I'm not a native speaker) and we got stuck first for 3 hours in Viridian because we didn't know about the parcel and second for 5 hours in Mt Moon because we had no idea where to go. I fell in love instantly.
My first was Pokémon Black. My sister-in-law gave it to me lol. I think the thing that kept my interest in Pokémon alive back then was fanfiction to be honest
One of the earliest memories I have of gaming would be Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Challenge for the PS2. Of course, you had to love Hot Wheels as a kid (I still do myself), and the game was so much fun. For what got me into Pokémon, I'd say that would have to be Lucario. I thought it looked so cool, and it pretty much sparked my interest in other Pokémon, too, and that's what really got me into it. That's why Lucario is my favorite Pokémon
My very first game was Donkey Kong (ARC), on the Commodore 64. Yes, I am an old man. ; Pokémon? Was in Boy Scouts at the time, and during summer camp my roommate had Blue version that he was kind enough to let me play (though, obviously, not save).
The first game I played was red version, but the first game I owned was blue version. My friends and my brother got me into Pokémon. I was EXTREMELY resistant to Pokémon but after 3 or 4 months of grinding at me I finally came down with a case of pokemania. What got me back into it was again friends who reminded me of why I loved it and why I have the right to choose for myself.
What got me into Pokémon... Probably my mum. When I was about 6 (maybe earlier but I can't remember much back then) my mum put on the very first episode of Pokémon. I kept asking for it, since mum had the first nine seasons, and when I was 8 (at the same time I got a DS) I got Pokémon Platinum.
Pokémon Red, on an old gameboy that belonged to my older sister. It had Pokémon Red, and slowly got me into it.
The anime got me into Pokémon and the only reason I watched anime was because of an older cousin of mine. My first game was Red when I was ~7 and I got the game coupled with my first handheld gaming device (Gameboy Color). My mom surprised me picking me up from after school care and I'll never forget it!
