I'm not sure how many people remember the very first Pokémon they saw, but I'm curious about the ones that do.

I remember when I was 6 or 7 when my brother showed me a Pokémon card for the first time, and the Pokémon card was of Voltorb. :) Amusingly, it was also the first Pokémon I caught during a mass outbreak after finishing story mode in my Diamond game.

When I 7, I got my first Pokémon game and I think it was ruby, Groundon would be the first Pokémon. But officially, the first I saw was Mudkip.

I think the first one I saw was Ponyta. My friend gave me a Ponyta card so I think that was my first. Can't really remember if I watched the first Pokémon episode or got the card first though.

I believe Pikachu was the first one, I had tons of stuffed toys of Pikachu. My first Pokémon card however I believe was in one of the Gen 1 starter decks I bought with birthday money when I was like 6 or so.

I saw weedle first, I was young, and it was part of a poster that detailed the coming of Pokémon to the US, and it was the first I had laid my eyes on...from that moment I knew that weedle was meant to be my partner....while at the same time my brother saw sandshrew on the same poster. (There were quite a few different Pokémon on the poster, but our eyes were caught by those specific Pokémon.)

Well... For a while as a kid before I actually got into Pokémon I did know what it was because, let's be honest here, who doesn't? However, like many others, the only thing I really knew Pokémon for was Pikachu. So, even though I guess there could have been something else I saw first, Pikachu was the first Pokémon I saw and identified as a Pokémon.

Squirtle was my first ever Pokémon. I saw Squirtle in Pokémon blue and i picked him. I used to collect Squirtle stuff (not anymore). My favorite Pokémon.

I honestly don't remember what was the very first Pokémon I ever saw. Probably Pikachu. (anime) or Bulbasaur.

I can't really remember what the very first Pokémon was that I saw. Though I didn't see the commercials for the show or any of the games, my friends at school talked about it a lot. So the most memorable Pokémon that I can clearly remember seeing within the first couple of times of ever watching the show, was the episode where Ash caught Squirtle. So I think Squirtle may have been the first Pokémon I have seen.

Oh I was also...about 9 or 10 (fourth grade) when I saw my first episode. Haha.

I believe it was Geodude. The first time I ever saw anything related to Pokémon was one of the very first print ads before Pokémon came to North America. It was on the back of a Disney Adventures magazine and showed a net going over a bunch of Pokémon with the "Gotta catch 'em all!" slogan. There were many, but the one that I noticed first and remember the best was Geodude.

I can't remember if I first watched the cartoon or played a game. If it was the games, then Nidorino because of the Nidorino Vs. Gengar intro. The anime starts like that too, on the very first episode, but then again if I watched the opening it was probably Mewtwo.
I've got no idea actually. I don't remember that much from when I was like 5, so...
    Man...

Not sure if I started the games or the show first so my first Pokémon might have been Pikachu.
