First Programming Language?

    Mmm. This has more than likely been asked before, but why not put it out there again, huh?

    Simply put, what was the first computer programming language and/or scripting language you took a look at? Would you be interested in looking at other languages? Or does the jargon and syntax of it all deter you? (Since the workload can be pretty daunting)

    I have learned a decent amount of Java and C++, but I'm nowhere near proficient in either language. I hope to eventually learn many other languages as well and gain a greater understanding of the two I already know. Even though it can be a pain, I enjoy the challenge.

    I've gotten to be pretty good at Java, HTML, and CSS, yet my first programming language is actually Node.js, a framework of JavaScript. I started to learn programming for the sake of contributing to PokemonShowdown servers I associated with and ran back in 2012, and now I'm an intended computer science major.

    The first language that I actively learned to use was definitely Java, as I actually have resources I've used for it.

    I used to do a course in IT before this, so I have had experience dabbling in SQL and a bit of HTML. I don't remember 99% of what I've learnt anymore though. I won't be attempting to learn any more; coding just isn't for me.
