The Focus sash is a one time use item that enables a Pokémon at full health to withstand a potential 1 hit KO attack and survive with exactly 1 HP leftover. This item has been proven useful to exceptionally frail Pokémon. What kind of Pokémon do you like to give a focus sash? Are there any strategies you've developed using the item?

Some common things that focus sash Pokémon utilize are Endeavor + Priority moves and Counter or Mirror Coat. In addition to that some excellent focus sash Pokémon to take note of are, Shedinja, Breloom, Cloyster, Deoxys, Galvantula, and Smeargle.

Focus Sash on Salamence is really good if you want enough time to set up a Dragon Dance and sweep. I also like Cloyster so I can set up a Shell Smash, same with Gorebyss.

I use the Focus Sash for a lot of Pokémon that I don't know what item to give them, so 1-2 members on every one of my teams will end up with a Focus Sash.

Mamoswine also gets in some good work because it can set up your Stealth Rocks and Ice Shard something before going down if it happens to not outspeed.

The Focus Sash is an extremely useful item that can work super well on just about anything, so I really enjoy using it, especially to stop sweepers that didn't set up entry hazards :).

Can't believe this wasn't mentioned (Probably cause there are far too many viable Focus Sash users in the game, but I'm still rather shocked.)

    Garchomp (F) @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Rough Skin
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly / Naive Nature
    - Stealth Rock
    - Outrage / Dragon Claw
    - Swords Dance / Fire Blast
    - Earthquake

There's no question or doubt in my mind that the best Focus Sash user in the OU meta is none other than the monster himself, Garchomp. This set became rather popular during Gen 5 OU, when people realized Chomper's rather huge offensive presence (130 Attack / 102 Speed base) & above average bulk (108 HP / 95 Defense / 85 Special Defense base) made it the perfect SR setter for offensive teams. In addition to it's very solid stats, Garchomp can force a lot of switches, meaning once it sets down Stealth Rock, the opponent will be scrambling for something to beat this thing. The set is rather simple, Stealth Rock being Stealth Rock obviously, the option between Outrage & Dragon Claw is up to personal preference. I prefer Outrage myself, but choose Dragon Claw if you don't like getting locked in to one move. Swords Dance raises Dragon Claws / Outrages power to min blowing levels, turning Garchomp into a devastating early-game sweeper / immediate presence. Fire Blast on the other hand (Put a Naive Nature if using this.), can nail Ferrothorn, Scizor, & Skarmory for real solid damage, Skarmory most importantly since it walls this set otherwise. Earthquake is bog-standard STAB with solid neutral coverage.

Smeargle is a really popular Pokémon that is sashed to hell and back.
Whether it be hazards/support, or shell smashing.

I personally used it in ubers for a sun sticky web team, and it was a lot of fun.

    Mamoswine a nice focus sasher!
With endeavor and ice shard it guarantees to take down at least one Pokémon!

I personally use a Focus Sash Mamoswine, and it has done miracles for me! It's just a really good item for a Pokémon like Mamoswine, and I've had some great victories thanks to it!

I like giving Focus Sash to Noivern and Aerodactyl so I can survive long enough to set up Tailwind.

Focus sash can actually be pretty effective on really frail Pokémon, such as Charizard. If running them non-mega, Charizard with focus sash is both useful and surprosing! The foe will most likely expect a mega or something!

Focus Sash Rattata is the best Focus Sash Pokémon. :3

Breloom has to be one of my favorite Sash Pokémon; I can get a free Spore (assuming they aren't immune to it), hit something with Bullet Seed and break their own Sash, predict a switch-in with Rock Tomb to lower Speed (i.e. Talonflame and Charizard), or just try a simple Mach Punch. After his Sash is consumed, I can just Mach Punch for free damage after Breloom has done its job if I'm outsped.

I also think Sash Alakazam deserves a mention too; when given a free switch, it can KO something and thanks to Magic Guard, you won't have your Sash broken by entry hazards.
I like going with Psyshock/Shadow Ball/Dazzling Gleam/Encore (I was debating between Dazzling Gleam and Focus Blast but I don't trust my luck with the latter :P) with my Alakazam. I like him more than Mega Alakazam, tbh.

Greninja really benefits from becoming a 2 hit KO Pokémon thanks to Focus Sash, because frailty is its main problem, especially when you want to switch it in.

[3D='volcarona'] and [3D='crawdaunt']. Dragon Dance and Quiver Dance are difficult to set, but Sash makes it more easy (still dangerous XD).

Anything that's fragile and has Magic Guard are the best users of Sashes imo. Look no further than my picture. Nothing frustrates me more than entry hazards ruining a perfectly good Sash.

Currently, I think Infernape and Weavile are the best sash leads in the OU Metagame. Weavile has the awesome offensive ice typing, as well as dark typing that hits almost everything for neutral/super effective damage; Ice Shard, Knock Off, Taunt, and Fake out make it an effective Pokémon for scouting, preventing setting up, and revenge killing, and sash complements its ability to stay alive.

Infernape, on the other hand, is awesome, as its fire and fighting coverage is amazing. Its movepool is above average, allowing sash users to have whatever they really want, but the most preferable sets would include any of the following: Stealth Rocks, Endeavor, Fire Blast, Close Combat, and Vacuum Wave. It has great speed and the sash is definitely helpful for keeping it alive.

Along with all of the other Pokémon mentioned in this thread, take a look at these two offensive sash users if you want something new on your team!

Weavile was a great sasher and is still pretty good with an increased movepool
