"This is F.L.C Gamma Drive reporting to HQ, I just witnessed another ship get boarded and taken out of the skies. Shall I still engage towards the planet?" the captain called over a private network

"Affirmative, we must explore this new planet no matter what. Humanity is doomed to fail if we fail." a cackling voice came through the speaker.

"Very well." the captain replied clipping their microphone back to the intercom. "This'll be a bumpy ride" he mutters to himself.

In the back of the large space craft were the rest of the cabin crew. Unlike the Space Cortex, the Gamma Drive was built to carry supplies to the new world. It does not have as many military personnel.

"Jeez, the Cortex just went down... Are you guys sure this place is safe? I don't wanna fucking die due to this" Karma scoffed.

"You're the one who signed the paper." A scientist walking past spoke. In that moment Karma grabbed the scientist by the collar. "What you say to me punk?" His teeth gritted staring into the scientists eyes. "Oi, for a person who's whole premise is Karma. You still act so rash about things." Victoria remarked.

Dropping the scientist Karma charged at Victoria his fist in the air. "If you're gonna punch me, at least make it hurt" Victoria scoffed blowing their hair out of their face before the punch even landed. Karma trips on his foot and falls on the floor of the shuttle.

"Damned kid..." Karma muttered. "Be a shame if Karma bit you back wouldn't it?" Victoria yawned as she spoke.

"Uhm . . . Can you both please stop fighting?" a feminine voice called out. Victoria turned to see a younger looking girl. She was wearing a dress and beret. The dress was brown and mid length with a white hem. A teddy bear decal stitched to the right breast. Her hair went pass her shoulders to curls, dyed silver. She wasn't very tall.

"Tsch. As if, there's nothing kindness will give us in this world." Karma scoffed at the girl. "Sorry bout him, he's an asshole." Victoria muttered to the girl. "He uses anger as a way of limiting his power. The angrier he gets the less bad things happen to those around him."

"I... See.." the girl cupped her hands together and looked down to Karma on the floor. "No one asked some pumpkin spice bitch." Karma scoffed back at the girl.

    "Sorry... But I'm not a pumpkin spice . . . I'm Ava." the girl stuttered. "I'm Victoria, that's Karma."

As the three chatted, the ship started to shutter and shake. "What's going on now?" Victoria groaned. "How are we to know, I'm on the fucking floor. And this bitch is dumber than a box of ro-" *Whack*

"sorry for him." Victoria scoffed. "Let's go try and see what's goin on, Ava."

Ava nodded and followed Victoria. The ship jostled and jumped as they ran to the other cabin mates. "What's goin on?" was the most common phrase they heard as they ran. "Seems like everyone's clueless." Victoria vaulted over a sliding crate as she ran for a gun.

Grabbing a rifle she aimed down towards the main gate, and in that very moment the ship made a large jump throwing everyone into the air. The planes on board had their wings shatter sending debris everywhere. Victoria looked out the window to see the planet coming closer. "Shit." She scoffed grabbing onto Ava, and diving into a closet. "You better not touch anywhere weird" Victoria scoffed as Ava held onto her as if she were a teddy bear.

    CRESHVHHBOM

Everything went dark, the lights all off. The force of the landing had sent Victoria straight into a wall breaking her nose. Ava's arm had sprained. "Jeez... So muh for a safe trib." Victoria spoke. Ava whimpered and shook as Victoria pushed herself up, opening the door.

It was still dark, the ship landed on it's cabins so not much light could be seen. "Looks like we gotta go out the emergency exit." Victoria remained calm in this situation somehow, grabbing on a handrail to slide down towards an exit door. Cracking the handle off and opening it.

Sunlight shined off the stream of blood running down her face staining her hoodie. "Wonder if that dumb fuck managed to live." She muttered walking out to a forested land. Looking around she saw many things.

Today was yet another boring day for Shawn. He was one of the few military assigned as security for the ship, and was currently assigned to stand guard around the medical bay hallways. Then again, that's how Shawn like his days sometimes. He's had his fair shares of exiting days, and most of them end in a negative way. Since nothing really happens very much in this ship, he decided to sit down and do some card reading, since he really had nothing better to do.

"Alright fates, what do you have for me today?" He asked himself, shuffling his deck of tarot cards. (I know what you're thinking. No this wont cause their effects, since he's not drawing the cards with the intent of using them for their "intended purpose".) A few riffles later, and he drew his first card 'The Tower'.

"Heh, not a good start for today. What's next?" He laughed off his first draw, as he began drawing the second and third cards 'Death' and 'Judgement'. "Huh... Not a good day, huh. Well that ain't good, let's go for another try."

He placed the three cards back in the deck and shuffled them once again. Once riffled a few times, he drew three cards once more. He had drawn the same cards once again, but in a different order. Laughing things off as bad RNG, he decided to shuffle his deck one last time, but was interrupted by the ship suddenly shacking. He briefly waited for the captain at the intercom to explain the sudden shaking, but was only greeted by a loud alarm flaring up on his wrist mounted monitor.

Realizing that things were now definitely going wrong, he immediately stood up to begin calming and escorting the passengers to safety, but soon stopped as the doors to the medical ward opened up revealing a large man in a lab coat with a facemask on.

"Doctor Sandusky, you need to vacate the area immediately. Things are not good right now, and I shall escort you to a panic room. Please cooperate, and follow immediately." Shawn spoke, in his military professional voice. Looking at the doctor while beckoning at the doctor for him to follow.

"Do I look like a child to you? You know I'm older than you by a whole 10 years Shawn." The doctor retorted to the short military man's beckoning. "I can tell shit's hitting the fan, so the sooner we can got out of here the better. Let us go!"

The ship continued to jostle and jump as they began making their way to the panic room that doubled as a detachable escape pod if need be. Shawn and Benedict attempted to talk/calm down the other passengers as they were making their way to the room. Shawn would try harder to calm down the other passengers, but his contract states that he must escort all VIPs before the other passengers, and the doctor was a certified VIP. As soon as they got close to the panic room in order to drop off the doctor, the ship made a large jump throwing both of them and all the other passengers into the air. One look into his monitor told him what had just happened, the wings of the ship have shattered, and they were going down, FAST.

"Shit! Doctor, you need to get into that room right this instant!" Shawn shouted, quickly grabbing the doctor by his wrist and pulling him quite roughly into the panic room. As soon as he began turning around to rescue more passengers, the doors to the panic room have slammed shut, and auto ejected itself from the ship. He quickly made his way to the shut door, and began slamming it with his fist a few times. "No, no, no NO!"

The Doctor, realizing what had just happened, attempted to rationalize with the mercenary. "Shawn... SHAWN! Stop hitting the door, we've been cut off from the main ship, and we're going down as well as the ship." Standing up, Benedict walked towards one of the windows to see that they were indeed going down at an alarming rate. "There's nothing we can do right now, we need to get ourselves seated properly and brace for impact before we hit the surface. We can search the crash site for survivors as soon as we land."

Unable to dispute with the doctors arguments, Shawn begins making his way to one of the seats and begins strapping himself for impact. As soon as both of them were done preparing, it didn't take long for them to crash land at the surface and nearly giving them both whiplash. After a few seconds, they took a bit to unbuckle themselves and opened the latch that would unlock the metal doors. Once outside, things looked pretty calm and normal. If it wasn't for the obvious crisis and destroyed looking drop pod behind them, this view would've been nice to look at. But Shawn's' job came first, and he began searching around for where the main ship had crashed, it took him a few seconds, but he eventually saw a lot of smoke in the sky past a few tree lines.

"We're not that far from the crash site, Doc. C'mon, we gotta rescue them!" Shawn spoke, making his way towards the smoke.

Dez leaned nonchalantly against the door frame, looking out at the atrium. She was tasked with guarding housing complex B, along with four others. Barely anything happened the whole trip, and Dex was bored out of her mind. She couldn't wait until they arrived and she could finally leave this stupid ship for a while, and/or celebrate that they arrived safely, preferably with alcohol.

As she was lost in thoughts of downing more champagne than one would think was possible, she heard a younger voice next to her.

    "Um, excuse me."

Dez turned toward the voice and saw a late teenage boy at her. "What do you want kid?" she asked rather brashly.

"Oh, well..." Lloyd started, slightly startled at Dez's response. "I'm just a bit curious as to what protocols you have in place. What would you do if someone were to break a law here?"

"Arrest them." Dez responded. She already hated this kid for asking dumb questions.

"Okay but what if they fight back?"

    "They won't beat me."

"How can you be so sure?"

Dez raised an eyebrow at Lloyd, then took her railgun off her back and activated it. The barrel glowed red intensely. "They won't beat me." Dez said again, matter-of-factly.

"I see..." Lloyd looked at the gun, both intimidated by it but also a bit awestruck. Anyone could easily tell how powerful it was just by looking at it and hearing the slight hum it gave off. Dez put the railgun away, having proved her point.

"So you like heavy weaponry then? I prefer something a bit more refined. Speed and precision work better for me than raw power."

Dez groaned in her head at how this kid couldn't take the hint that she didn't want to talk to him. "Look kid-"

Just as she was about to tell him to get lost, the ship jostled violently around them. Alarms started going off, and while the captain was likely trying to give an evacuation order, all that came over the intercom was static.

"Dez, you still up on the third floor? Round up everyone up there and take them to the pods on the east side." Dez's com piece blared to life, giving her her orders.

"On it, Blake." she responded. She looked at the boy in front of her. "You stay close to me, got it?"

    "Got it." Lloyd responded.

Dez started sprinting down walkway, checking every room for passengers and telling everyone she found to head to the eastern escape pod bay. There was another violent shake, and part of the walkway started to collapse. Dez grabbed Lloyd and another woman before they fell and pulled them to where it was still stable. She looked back down, about to try to rescue anyone else she could, but something else had gotten to them first. It looked like a large, shaggy wolf with wings folded against its arms. It was entirely black except for its glowing red eyes and the blood splattered on its paws and face. There were several bloody corpses around it, plus half of one in its mouth.

Dez, realizing everyone she intended to help was already killed, turned and started running toward the stairs to, yelling at Lloyd and the woman to follow her.

"What's going on what happened?" Lloyd asked.

"It doesn't matter just get to the pods we have to get out of here!" Dez responded, deciding this wasn't the best time to mention that there was a bloodthirsty beast right behind them.

The three pf them got to the stairs and ran down to the first floor. She motioned to the corridor on their right. "You two head down therr to the pods I'll take up the rear in case something comes after us."

"What do you mean by 'something'?!" the woman asked, panicking.

There was a loud noise, and the beast from before burst through a wall on the opposite side. It saw them immediately and started running toward them.

"That something now go!" Dez took out her railgun and began firing at it as the three of them ran. It only seemed to sting it a little as it didn't slow down. Dez looked up and saw a coolant pipe above them, she shot it and it burst, sending a spray of supercooled air down in front of the entrance to the corridor. Dez had no idea if that would stop it, but she didn't really have any other options. Given that it didn't run right through it, it must've worked at least a little.

The three continued down the corridor, the pod bay was now on site. They got to the door, but it was sealed off. Lloyd looked through the window to see what was wrong. There was a large hole in the side of the room.

"The pod bay's been breached!" Lloyd told the other two.

"Shit!" Dez said. "The closest other one is back the way we came and I don't think we have time to go the long way." Dez looked around for ideas, and saw a sign for the barracks. "The barracks! It's one of the most fortified places on the ship it should withstand the crash enough for us to survive if we seal the doors. Come on!"

Dez started running down the corridor again, but was cut off by part of the ceiling coming down. The wolf-bat-thing fell through and roared at them. Somehow, it had managed to go around and cut them off.

It swiped at Dez. She was just barely able to dodge it, but lost her footing and fell. It looked over her and was about to bite down, when something else shot it square in the face. It didn't seem to hurt it, but it pissed it off. It looked up and roared ad Lloyd, who now had hos bow drawn. It lunged toward Lloyd, but he managed to use his sensemove and dodge, so the beast overshot him and fell down the corridor a ways. The woman helped Dex up and the continued running down the corridor toward the barracks.

They got to the entrance to the barracks, but so did the beast. It grabbed the woman with them. "No!" Dez shouted. She prepared to shoot at it to try and rescue her, but it tore her head off before she could. Dex stared for a second, regretting how she failed to save her. Then the large doors started to close. Lloyd had gotten to the button to seal the doors.

They both looked back out as the doors closed, watching the woman they were just with be torn apart.

"Is that thing native?" Lloyd tentatively asked.

"I have no idea." Dez responded, still a bit shaken at her failure.

The beat finished its meal and started trying to break through the doors. It was having trouble but it was still doing some damage.

"My locker is 852. The combination is 2374. Get in there and hide. There's nothing in it but some casual clothes right now you should be able to fit fine."

"What about you? I'm not just leaving you here!"

"If I don't hold it off it'll just find and kill both of us. It's my duty to protect you. Now go!"

In the midst of the argument, the beast managed to punch a hole in the door. But then it stopped. It looked around as if assessing the situation, then left as the ship started to dip steeply.

"We're about to go down. Get to my locker! I don't know if the doors can handle the crash with that hole in them!"

Dez ran to her locker, dragging Lloyd with her. She quickly entered the combination, and swung it open. She shoved herself in, then pulled Lloyd into a protective hold and closed the door. They could feel the entire ship falling out of the sky now.

Dez quietly counted down the seconds until impact. She timed it well, and as soon as she got to 0 the ship hit the surface and everything was tossed around. After a few seconds of waiting, Dez tried pushing the door open, only to realize it was locked because that's how lockers work. Somehow the crash hadn't broken that. She brought out one of her gauntlets and punched the door instead, and this time it opened.

The two of them spilled out and tried to get their bearings. The entire ship was leaning sideways, so the floor was up at about a 30° angle. The power was out but the emergency lights were still working. There was water flowing past them on the floor. "You okay?" Dez asked.

    "Yeah." Lloyd responded. "You?"

"Incredibly enough." Dez turned around and took the spare clothes she had in her locker, and put them in a backpack that was on the floor. She doubted its owner would miss it right now. She dipped her finger in the water and tasted it.

"Salt water. That means we probably landed in the ocean. Hopefully there's land nearby. Let's go."

Dez walked down the corridor they were just running down minutes ago. The atrium now had a massive hole in the side of it. Luckily it seemed they landed in shallow water near a beach, and the hole was facing land. There was debris scattered everywhere, and in the distance there was smoke, as well as another ship plummeting towards the surface.

"Did the whole fleet get taken down?" Dez asked, shocked.

The two stared out at the forest a distance away. "Well let's hope there are other survivors." Lloyd said. The two set off, trudging through the waist-high water.

"I never caught your name, kid." Dez said.

"Lloyd. I'm a rookie researcher. You?"

"Call me Dez. I'm a soldier, in case that wasn't obvious." Dez suddenly remembered her com piece. She spoke into it. "Hello, this is Dez, any of you there? I'm just outside the atrium heading toward land." No response. Dez sighed. "If anyone can hear this, I'm with a researcher and we're heading out into the forest. Meet us at the beach if you can." Still no response.

"I guess we're on our own for now." Dez said. The two continued walking.
