Ever since the original Pokémon Red and Green/Blue, there have been certain species of Pokémon that are said to have gone extinct long ago, with the only record of their existence being their fossilized remains. However, thanks to the wonders of technology, those Pokémon can be revived in the modern day. These extinct Pokémon are all Rock-types (except for the ones introduced in Sword and Shield, which are... special...), possibly as a side effect of having been restored from petrified bone, or maybe there were just a lot of Rock-type Pokémon running around in ancient times. Or maybe petrification as we know it isn't a thing in the Pokémon world and the "fossils" we from Pokémon that already had mineral-based skeletal structures?
What are your thoughts on fossil Pokémon? Do you like them? Do you hate them? Are there any prehistoric lifeforms that you want to be made into fossil Pokémon? Do you have any of your own theories regarding the fossil Pokémon and/or how the revival process works?

I really like fossil Pokémon. It's an interesting concept, and the Pokémon usually have some pretty unique and interesting designs. Even the Sword and Shield ones, though not in a good way.

I think it would be cool though to have a fossil Pokémon that looks really skeletal and stuff, since when most people think of fossils, they think of the fossilized bones.

I don't really have super deep thoughts or feelings towards them, but I like fossil Pokémon conceptually. I think it's interesting to be able to bring back extinct Pokémon species. My personal favorite is probably between Archeops for how fun it is to use ingame and Dracozolt because it's among the most interesting fossils conceptually and looks better than its other Galar fossil bretheren, but I don't feel hugely attached to any individual fossils either, so that may not be saying much.

I personally believe the fossil Pokémon are, for the most part, Rock type only because they were revived from literal stone fragments of their skeletal remains. I can kinda see the OG fossils (Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl lines) being part Rock as it fits their design, but some of the others from later on don't carry that Rock type design as well. Lileep line could have been Water/Grass instead of Grass/Rock in it's natural timeline, for example.
I used Amura/Auraous in my Y playthrough and loved her a lot, but besides her and Omastar, I don't have a real fondness of the fossils.

I would like to see more depictions of dinosaurs, such as stegosaurus, megalodon, ect, OR creepy sea life from back then. We had Relicanth, based on a real fish that still lives, but was around back then, but he's not really in the creep factor..
