Some of you may know that I attended the 2015 Pokémon World Championships this year. One of the things I got to do was play in some side events. These events are set up by the official Pokémon Company and you can play for prizes and all sorts of stuff. Now, one of the events I entered in was a "Multi-Battle Free For All". Yup that's right, it was 4 players fighting it out in an every man for themselves battle. Free For Alls have gotten a lot of popularity on the internet this past year and it seems Pokémon has taken notice, seeing how an official side event was done in this format. This brings me to my main point.

Could this mean Free For Alls will show up in Gen. 7 as an actual format? As things currently are Rock Slide and moves like that cant be aimed at your partner and if two people are left on one side the battle just ends without a true winner. This is why many have been wishing for an actual format to fix these issues. So what do you think? Could we be seeing FFAs implemented in an upcoming game? Seeing how Pokémon has officially acknowledged the battle style and obviously seems to like it with it being a side event in all it wouldn't be too... Farfetch'd. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I've seen people do this sort of thing on Multi-battles before, but I think it would be cool to have it as a format. fighting against three other people at a time, hoping that you don't get ganged up on, trying to predict the other people's switches, it could be interesting.

I think the championships were an excellent way to get their feet wet with free for all. Actually, it seems like they got more than just their feet wet, they just jumped waist-deep into this pool on a battlefield bigger than a test tube (I'm sorry, these metaphors are just all over the place). I'm giving it a 100% likelihood that they're considering adding 4-way battles into Generation 7 (but Kalos part 2 sounds unlikely from a programming standpoint).

From this point on, I'm thinking the final yes or no depends on just a few factors: Did the fans seem to enjoy it, did some specific group of staff making the games like what they see, and will it be easy/possible to implement it at all. I'm thinking the answers are probably yes, yes, and yes, so I'm optimistic about this.

It would be cool, but for some reason I got a feeling is not gonna happen. Even if is starting to become a thing I'm not sure they would add a FFA format.
