Freedom and security are in a balance with one another, with one having to be weakened for the other to be strengthened. With more freedom comes less security, and with greater security comes lowered freedom. Which do you think is more important and why? Do you think there should be a 50:50 balance, or is one of the two more relevant than the other?
Are there aspects of freedom you feel shouldn't be lost?
    How about with security?

Have you played InFAMOUS: Second Son? That's pretty much the idealogical conflict between Delsin, the main protagonist, and Augustine, the main antagonist.

I'd rather have more security than freedom if I HAD to pick one. With more freedom, people tend to do whatever they want. Sometimes at the cost of someone else's freedom. So long as the freedoms taken aren't ridiculous, I wouldn't mind a slight lean in security.

Honestly I think it depends on the person. From a conservative standpoint, one would want more security, even at the cost of some freedom. From a liberal standpoint, one would want more freedom, because losing a right at the cost of security can ironically cause a loss of security and other benefits. It all goes down to how much power one thinks should be entrusted to those with the power to grant security. With every benefit there is a cost. More security results in reduced freedom and more freedom results in reduced security. There should definitely be a balance, but depending on the situation should one factor in more than one another.

@[member="Bloom"] pretty much summed it up for me. There should generally be a balance between the two, but often times I'd vouch for a slight lean on freedom. That's just who I am though.

Definitely there needs to be a balance between freedom and security. I mean, I would like to have the freedom to speak my mind, but I wouldn't want someone running around with a gun, shooting people down etc.

However, my stand about freedom is that it comes with responsibility. Always note that freedom of speech is just a fine line from freedom to offend, something we don't wanna get into.
