Do you like having a lot of friends, or do you prefer just a few? Do you end up with a lot anyway? Would you call yourself sociable? How do you normally meet your friends? How close are you to your friends?

I wouldn't consider myself as someone with a large amount of friends, there are plenty of people that have many more friends than I do. I'd still say I have a good amount of friends though, and I don't feel like I really need any more than I already have. But still, I won't turn away a person if they're someone who's friend-worthy.

I'm not very sociable, but I can be. It will always depend on the location, situation, person, and my mood. Being social was never my strong point, and it does get in the way sometimes, but I've learned to live with it. Just like almost everyone else, I feel like it's easier to talk to someone through the internet rather than face-to-face. One of my main reasons is because it gives me more time to think of a decent response that can actually continue the conversation. But when I'm around friends, I don't really even need time to think when talking, because it all just comes naturally.

Most of my irl friends I've met either through school or my neighborhood. As a kid, I was very active and loved going outside, and my neighborhood was the perfect place for kids to play. We used to play a whole bunch of different games almost every day, ranging from soccer, to football, to man-hunt, to air-soft gun wars, to video games, and everything inbetween. It's something I always wish I could go back and enjoy as a kid.
At school, I've almost always had a group of friends that always started shenanigans during class or lunch. Especially lunch.

At this point in my life, I have a small amount of friends that I'd actually consider to be "close" to me.
One of them I've known ever since we were both little, since we grew up in the same neighborhood and always played games in the huge group of friends we had back then. I was never too close to him at first, but when I moved back to Orlando in 2013 (I think it was), we started hanging out a lot more and easily became best friends.
Another one I don't get to talk to very often, but the times I do get to talk to them are always awesome.
Another one I used to talk to and hang out with a lot, but we've slowly drifted apart ever since I moved. Still, we both check up on each other every now and then and send memes and whatnot. She almost always has some crazy/funny story to tell me whenever she messages me, and I'm basically a child irl so I love stories.
I have a few others in mind, but I also don't talk to them as much as I used to. I still love them as friends though, and I've known them long enough to the point where it wouldn't be weird if we just started talking again out of nowhere for no real reason, so I'm sure I'll talk to them again someday.

I try to be as sociable as I can. So much so that it sometimes comes off in the wrong way when I approach females (and some males, apparently). I mean honestly, people need to stop flattering themselves. Me being nice to you and/or compliment you here or there doesn't mean I'm interested in you romantically, but that's a rant for another time!

I like making friends, and I do have quite a bit of them.

As for how close I am to them, well, I'm closer to some more than others. Even though I do approach and talk to people, I only pursue a deeper friendship if they're good people.

Listen, we can't help it if we get hopeful just being around you! I mean every time I see you I'm like "Is my hair okay? How's my breath? Did I miss a spot shaving? OMIGOD Eru's coming closer! *squeak!*" I just can't help it, you have that aura of magnetic magnificence!

Anyhow, short story time. I'm going to be attending a wedding soon. In fact, not only am I going to be attending, I'm going to be one of the groomsmen. Three other groomsmen plus the groom, I only knew the groom before all this started planning. It started me thinking about something: when I get married, who will my groomsmen be? My 2-4 best guyfriends? Who are they, even?

I have friends. Work friends, school friends, a beneficial friend, and a few friends-of-friends. But friends who are above that level? People who I will remain close to after one of us gets a new job, or graduates, or marries, or moves away? Not many. Enough to count on one hand, and they're mostly female. Will I have to gather my "groomspeople" instead?

It's mostly my fault. I can be talkative, but I'm normally quiet. I just don't start conversations, instead I carry them. Just look at my ratio of post count to thread-start count here (or don't, I'm not going to, and I don't care). Because of my reluctance to be the one to start a conversation, my new relationship creation rate is mathematically cut by half at least.

I don't mind it though. I'd rather have five deep and meaningful friendships than five hundred facebook friendships.

Well, when you put it that, I suppose you're right. I am pretty irresistible!
I get "rejected" without me ever even thinking asking them out! Dx
I'll probably be free in a few years. ;)

Oh me oh my, where do I begin?

Due to how I view trust as being something incredibly strong and important, and my general unwillingness to trust people because of it, it takes a lot of work (both outward and inward) before I can call someone my friend. I am amicable enough that becoming my acquaintance is easy, but...for me to call someone a friend, that's a fairly large step.

You could label me as 'introverted to a fault' if you wished and you wouldn't be far off. I do not do very well in any kind of setting where there are more than 4 people at once (the more there are, the harder it becomes to handle), so of those who are among my friends, I am not in their company in the context of large groups. I simply cannot operate under that context. I am more of a one-on-one type of fellow. That way I feel there is more individuality drawn out, as I feel in group contexts and mentalities, a lot of individualism is forcibly suppressed for the good of the group. I do not care about (or for) that.

Because of that, my group of friends is and remains small. I am not particularly outgoing and I often have to watch someone for weeks or months before I make a conscious decision to approach that person. Usually I make friends faster when they approach me, but...that's much rarer and I can't count on that to happen often. Though, for the friends I do have, I try to keep regular contact with them as much as I am able. (That's another reason my number of friends is small - were it too large, I wouldn't be able to keep contact with all of them, as well as I could with less.)

I am not 100% fond of people, but I love everybody equally. I used to have lots of friends, but now I only have a few, as people change once they reach high school. I'd consider a friend to be somebody who you can get along with, and somebody who treats you fairly. Now, not many people treat me fairly (maybe nobody ^_^ ) but I still respect and love my friends.

I wouldn't call myself very sociable, despite the fact that I am very outgoing with my best friends. I don't usually meet my friends (except for my best friend!) because I live very far away from them all.

Whilst I do have quite a few friends at school, I would only consider a few as my closest friends. The ones who are the close friends are the ones which I can hang out with during out of school hours. Usually we go to the movies or the shops. Though I won't really consider myself as sociable, I'm quite a shy person and it's hard for me to start up and continue a conversation with a person that I don't really know.

That being said I'm very open with my close friends and I'm able to be myself, but I've had people say to me that I'm a quiet person, when I'm not. They just don't know how I really am with friends >_>

There have been certain friends which I've completely broken all connections with. I thought they were people whom I could trust but it turned out to be the complete opposite. Never got to know their real personality until it was too late, they never apologised either, some people can be such asses :wry:

I'm not very social at all. But I have a small circle of close friends, and that's enough for me. Of course I also have acquaintances and other friends outside the squad, but they're not as close as I am to the group. I'm not about to turn down someone if they want to be friends or such, but I'm most likely not going to get as close to them as I am with some.

I've known my one friend for, wow, 7-8 years now? Something like that. We met in elementary school and we've been friends ever since. Two others I met in sixth grade. One actually annoyed me quite a bit, but we're really close now. The other I didn't get closer to until freshman year.
The other two were kinda through my other friends, but they're part of the group and so I've gotten closer to them as well.

She's not in my main circle, but shoutout to my best friend in eighth grade and since. We wreck each other with feels and I laugh at her book choices. It rained. :D
