I've recently heard about Fruits Basket being rebooted, and I for one am absolutely ecstatic. Fruits Basket was one of my favorite anime, and then I read the manga and fell in love with it even more. Is anybody else excited about it? If so, what are you most looking forward to? Bonus questions. Who is your favorite Fruits Basket character? Which is your favorite couple? And finally, what is your zodiac animal? My zodiac animal is the rat (Go Yuki!). My favorite character...uh, I really like Ritsu and Hatori, but I think my favorite character is Shigure. Anybody who can go toe to toe with Akito is pretty incredible, which leads me to my favorite Fruits Basket couple. I don't even know why, but I really like the passive aggressive/plain old aggressive relationship between Shigure and Akito.
Never seen it, never read it, but I'm looking forward to watching it for the first time ever as soon as I get the chance. As far as I'm aware, they use the Chinese Zodiacs, so whoever's the Horse Zodiac will be my favorite, even though I don't get along with the horse all the time. After all, I am the goat of the wheel. So, really, I can't wait to see it for the first time, and I hope it lives up to what I've heard about it.
I'm insanely excited. The original was one of the first anime series I saw all the way through, and it is near and dear to my heart. Personally I'm more into Yuki's character type so he was my favorite, but Kyo is of course super adorable. Have very high expectations and am hopeful the reboot will live up to it. *^*
Have you ever read the manga? Because this reboot is going to be truer to the manga than the first anime was (to be fair, the first anime was a pretty spot on adaptation, and it could have been just fine, but it made one tiny little mistake that kind of screwed with something really important in the manga, so they couldn't keep adapting it, which I think is the reason why the first anime only portrays the first six volumes out of the twenty three.) On a side note, of Yuki and Kyo, do you ship one of them with Tohru, and if so, which one?
I watched the first episode of Fruits Basket, while my friend RAVED about it. I've been meaning to watch it for years and years now, but I never got around to it. Nevertheless I'm excited to hear there's a reboot!
I actually never read the manga. :< Was more into anime at the time. Guess that can be considered a good thing, since I'll go into this rebooted series without knowing what'll happen and can enjoy the surprises as they come. I don't think too heavily about shipping though, but like the idea of Tohru x Kyo! They make a good pair. ♡
Fruits Basket is one of the best shoujo stories ever and am happy it's finally getting the anime reboot it deserves. I love Kyo most, he was 13 year old me's husbando haha. Tohru and Kyo is OTP! I wanna rewatch the old anime and reread the manga.. My Chinese Zodiac is Rooster. I always wanted Tiger or Dragon.
