...with the third versions being 7c, Triangle, Hot Chocolate, and Purgatory, respectively.

 

I could see them going back to colors and even elements in the future, that wouldn't surprise me. Neither would a gimmick on gender, like Pokémon XX and XY versions, where the differences between the two games are based around gender of the character you can choose and some NPCs, as well as the gender-specific Pokémon species, and players are encouraged to get the version matching their own.

 

I want to see them use something from the periodic table. Like Pokémon Manganese or Plutonium xD

 

That would be pretty neat actually, legendary Poison/Steel legendary called Xhernobhyl.

 

Pokémon said they were moving into the new era of Pokémon they are starting to try some new things while also keeping all the old features intact (EX: Switching to 3ds System) I believe they might go back to traditional colors and gemstones but as of now they are going to keep trying things new and inovative

 

Only the first and fifth generations were colors, really.
Then the second generation, sans crystal, and Platinum were minerals/metals.
And the rest of them except pearl were gemstones. Peal is just a pearl. And Crystal isn't really a gemstone but whatever.

They never had a real pattern. X and Y are a little different, yeah, but nobody saw Black and White coming either, not to mention Black 2 and White 2. tbh, I don't care too much what the names are.

 

They could use names of galaxies and have a Pokémon world that is in a different galaxy than the Milky Way.

 

Pokémon Taco and Pokémon Burrito all the way.

 

...and the inevitable third version shall be Pokémon Quesadilla!
