Me and my family are Christians and my parents don't want me to play "evil" games please help this also includes monster hunter I can't convince them the monsters aren't demons
I'm a Christian, and there are PLENTY of games that are not "evil". Truth be told, aside from certain ones video games are pretty neutral - they're just storytelling using an audiovisual format. Super Mario Bros., Kirby, The Legend of Zelda (show them some concept art for A Link To the Past; there's a LOT of Christian references in that game), and the like are quite tame. Sure you have your Bayonettas and your Grand Theft Autos, but they're in the minority and can safely be ignored.
Well they are fine with Zelda I have played trough most of them for 3ds Kirby is fine I own smash brothers obviously I play Pokémon have you ever played rune factory 4 or harvest moon I might be able to convince them to let me buy those???????? One time I got them to let me buy fire emblem birthright but they had no idea the content. Camilla
Is it only games with demonic looking creatures that would be considered "evil", or would games with intense fighting also fall under that label? There're plentiful games on Nintendo systems that should be fine, especially original DS games if you're okay with the lower graphical quality. Stardew Valley is a great game! It has monsters to fight but they're mostly slimes, bugs, skeletons and so on so that shouldn't be a problem. It's on a lot of platforms too so you shouldn't have a problem getting hold of it. Which consoles do you have by the by, that'll help a lot with recommendations.
Really it is just demonic looking creatures also is stardew valley on the ds\3ds I only saw it pc, Xbox and PS4. I have a kindle so no steam =( basically I have a new nintendo 3ds and a kindle no computer =(
Ugh... Cowmilla. *headdesk* If there was anything that'd make me swear, it's Fates (and Awakening to a lesser extent). Stupid useless fanservice... The older Fire Emblem games (western-release ones, anyway) are a fair bit cleaner, and I highly recommend 7 and 9 (Blazing Sword and Path of Radiance); Sacred Stones has you fighting undead monsters, but they're sprite-based so it's not too bad, and you never fight AS one. Yeah, Harvest Moon and Rune Factory are very clean games (to my knowledge; there could be certain things I'm unaware of, but as I'm unaware of them I can't advise regarding them). If you like puzzle games, Portal and Portal 2 are really great games.
I have judgey siblings so no Wii fire emblem also like children under 10 who are very impressionable also I played revelation and echoes and like I said no PC:'( I would love to play portal andmots sequel
Do you have a GBA? Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones are on that one. Stay away from the Wii FE, though; it's not very good. Writing is kinda all over the place. Oh yeah, no PC... uh, when all else fails, there's always Tetris.
The red gameboy the only one that survived 10 years of children so many babies its L and R buttons broke it really sucked it L and R buttons really
How about kingdom hearts?? There’s two of them for the DS and another for the 3ds. A lot of the monster you face in them pretty much look like cartoon disney characters. Some of them are disney characters.
I've played Harvest Moon and Rune Factory so I can recommend them both, possibly less-so Rune Factory since there're goblins, imps and so on. You can avoid them if you don't go into the "dungeon" areas though so you could easily play through without your parents noticing. The enemies in the first areas you explore are sheep so that's all fine haha~ The elf characters have pointed ears though, not sure how they would feel about that since it's a feature associated with demons sometimes..? Harvest moon is 100% tame. There're little imps in some of them but what I've played of the Story of Seasons games is much more subtle than say... Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. Ace Attorney would be worth checking out too if you're into visual novel-esque games. The game is made up of the trials, investigations, and character interactions. Minor supernatural elements in some of the games but most of the characters react dismissively or scared so they're not an issue. Professor Layton is good too! Quite similar gameplay-wise to Ace Attorney but with a detective feel to it. Very puzzle heavy but they have a useful hint system and there're plenty of guides online if you just wanna experience the story without being frustrated. I personally enjoy Cooking Mama, not sure how that'll sit with you since a lot of people regard it as a kid's game. It's quite fun and might encourage you to explore cooking if you're able to, double positive in my books! Inazuma Eleven if you're interested in football and/or the anime series. I'm no good at the gameplay but the character designs are interesting enough imo. More of a childish tone overall but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. Animal Crossing is great if they aren't concerned by talking animals ehehe~ A very relaxed series focused on interactions, collecting (bugs, fish, furiture etc). There's also the Happy Home Designer game that came out not too long ago with a focus on designing rooms if you're interested! I have more recommendations if you're interested, don't want to overload you though!
I have. New leaf I have seen happy home designer played( it looked strange) not big on football possibly ace attourny is that one physical. Very much appreciate y'all. And um how could I possibly convince them monster hunter isn't demonic?
Most of the Ace Attorney games are physical but they're original DS games rather than 3DS games (at least in the UK, i'm not sure if the 3DS games got physical releases in the US). As for Monster Hunter, you could mention that the point of the game is to kill the monsters? Even if they keep thinking they're demons surely they can't argue against you hunting them..? (You should totally check out Samurai Warriors Chronicles too I love Samurai Warriors so muuuchhh~)
Um I feel like saying kill the monster killing might be worse? I don't know I convinced them to let me buy stories but you rode them in that one. And I'll look into samurai chronicles[/QUOTE]
Almost anything can (mostly inaccurately) be described as non-Christian. When I was younger (this was probably around 2000 or so) my parents were temporarily convinced that Pokémon was evil because it included "evolution", which really is an inaccurate word because Pokémon evolution is so much more like the metamorphosis of caterpillars into butterflies or tadpoles into frogs than anything involving Darwinian evolution (the only reason they didn't throw out my cards is because my Dad's into eBay, and is still waiting for their auction price to go up). Unless your parents are absolutely 100% unshakably fingers-in-their-ears set in their own uninformed convictions, you should be able to accurately and truthfully convince them that almost anything (except a few like Bayonetta and Darksiders) is not anti-Christian, but is merely non-affiliated. Heck, even Binding of Isaac (which I can 110% state your parents will disapprove of, and in this case it mostly would be justified) you spend most of the game fighting demons, the deadly sins, and the horsemen of the apocalypse. That sounds to me like a good crusade to get on (at least until you invade Heaven and face off against God, I think). Pony Island is full of Satanic imagery, but it's all about escaping Limbo, destroying high-ranking Daemons, and freeing souls that were imprisoned by Satan, which is probably all good. All you have to do is be able to convince your parents that just because these things don't have holy crosses everywhere doesn't make them evil, and just because they might include inverted crosses doesn't mean you're on that side. Anyway. The biggest thing I can suggest you try to avoid is the breaking of Thou Shalt Not Kill, which most puzzlers and many platformers abide by, and even some action games if the opponents are robots, non-living, or are non-lethally fought (like Pokémon). As far as games that mostly/entirely avoid violence (or it's totally rated-E-level violence) I suggest Talos Principle (difficult puzzler which includes a nice bit of talking to and resisting a metaphor of the Serpent who climbs the tree of knowledge), Yooka-Laylee (a sugary-nice throwback to Rare's early-2000s 3D N64 platformers), Undertale might be good (I've only played 10 minutes of it, and your parents won't like some villainous characters, but they're villains so who cares?), Valley (a super-fun open world explorer about bringing life back to a dying valley and preventing a superweapon from being made), and Battle Block Theater is fun if you have the ability to play it with friends. Those are all for PC through Steam, but most are probably on other platforms too.
