So this is a thread where after you have beaten a game you tell us your thoughts on it. Please tell us the name of the game and the console you played it on so I can track it down if you convince me to :P. I personally don't believe in assigning an arbitrary number to a game as a fair indicator of my thoughts but if you think it helps convey your experience with the game then go ahead.

I'll start off with Luigi's Mansion 2 on the 3DS which I just beat today.

As the standard for a Nintendo game the premise is pretty simple. Ghosts have gone out of control and it is up to Luigi to set things straight ghost buster style! Utilizing a Vacuum Cleaner and a Torchlight, Luigi must trek through numerous haunted mansions to get to the bottom of it all.

The game is broken up into a lot of missions each taking between 10-30 minutes each to complete and the objectives of each mission vary greatly, mixing things up and keeping the experience fresh for the entire playthough. Beating the missions are relatively simple but based on how long you took, how much treasure you found and how much damage you incurred will affect your rank at the end of a mission.

The missions themselves are relatively easy to beat, even the latter ones. The focus of the gameplay leans towards that of puzzle solving and exploration. If you are looking for a challenge though the game provides you a number of ways. In each Mansion there are approximately 10 hidden gems that only the most keen eyed and sharp minded individuals can find then all. I pride myself in my exhaustive searching styled play through of games and I can only churn up about half of them. The Multiplayer dungeon is challenging and can be tackled by a single individual. If you were looking for a challenge beating Twisted Tower by yourself is a sure fire way to give you this.

All in all this game is a vast improvement over the first game which I also enjoyed. A very charming game I would recommend to those who like the Puzzle/Exploration/Combat hybrid that are Zelda games. If you want an adrenaline packed action game or a compelling narrative you might want to look elsewhere though.

    Overall enjoyed the game immensely.

*Thinks long and hard* I haven't been gaming much lately, even though I realllly want to, but I did complete two games in the past few months.

    Beyond Two Souls for PS3
I didn't know what to expect going into this game. If anything, Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation review got me invested in it. Well, boy was I enlightened! Without giving much away, the fact that you could play two characters was fun, especially since there wasn't much that needed to be done in the game. It was largely quick time events and the odd moving forward with the left stick. Nothing that necessitated combos or learning off loads of commands which really puts me off some games. The story itself had a few unique twists which I thought were interesting. The game's narrative is all jumbled up though, and whilst there are multiple endings, the ending I got felt a bit meh to me.

    Hotline Miami for PS Vita
Boy was this one heck of an insane game. You basically go around clocking enemies with 'lethal' doors, baseball bats, guns, whatever you can pick up at the time. It's a game that tries to emulate something from the 8-bit/16-bit era in terms of graphics, and the funky soundtrack gives it an eerie vibe. It's strangely addicting in that whenever I got beat, I at least got more determined to finish the level/chapter. I also have it for PS3 thanks to PS+ and the cross-buy thing, but I felt that it was a game better equipped for the Vita's touch screen. (You could flick the screen to look ahead or around on, whilst on the PS3 you had to use other buttons). Again, there was only like 3-4 buttons that you needed to use so that was good. I love it for the simple fact that I can carry around a slice of beat-'em-up insanity in my pocket. Can't wait for the sequel.

Tales of Xillia 2 for PS3

Now for once a sequel that is better than the first one, at least story wise. As most game in the Tales of series the battle systems are superb, but I felt it was a little to easy to win battles, maybe this will change once I raise the difficulty. all the characters from the previous game is back and two new characters have take the role as main characters. I really came to like the two new protagonist, though I would have liked that Ludger had a voice from start and it weren't something you need to unlock, his moaning and yells was just plain awkward. the choice system was a nice touch but it had little consequences or other than the sort other than you don't get to raise affinities with certain characters depending on your choice, unless you get to the end of the game where your choice can change the outcome of the game. I find that a shame that they don't set up something a situation mid game or start game that can change the entire outcome of the game, but then again it wouldn't be a Tales of game if they did. it's biggest flaw is it massive amount of reused monsters they just gave a new color scheme and the boring world map that is a road that has been put out for you and the 'open' areas are kinda closed, but I survive.
it could use some proper dungeons too with the puzzles as they has in the older entries of the series, now the closes thing for a puzzle was a super annoying final dungeon.
    (final dungeon layout spoilers belooow)
The Land of Caanan and it's stupid vanishing roads and massive amount of bridges that leaves into blind ends and the narrow roads that makes it hard to avoid contact with monsters. fuck it was annoying.

all in all, I really like the game despite some if it's flaws. the characters are what keeps this game together at most, but the story ain't bad either.
