Gen I & Gen II: Old School Music?

    Gonna make this a collaboration thread of Gens I and II! Now, how did you generally like the music within the Gen I and Gen II Pokémon games? Compared to the later gens of Pokémon, how did you enjoy them? If we had to compare Gen I music with Gen II music, which one would you say you liked better?

    Those are just general questions for this thread; you're free to discuss the music in general! In addition, what are your favourite types of music that were played in both these games? You're free to make a list of them, as well as an explanation of why!

    The Azalea and Blackthorn City music from Gen II. Just because I love how vibrant and lively this theme is, and y'know, I can definitely listen to this for quite a long time; it's very peaceful, yet, a song set for adventure, if that makes sense. :3

    I personally loved the vs Red, and Tin Tower music themes. They were both so good!

    I really loved the first 2 generation's music. Most of it seemed so upbeat and positive. Sure, it's a little simple, but that's what made it great!

    I personally loved Pallet Town's music since it's so peaceful and really gives that happy sort of feeling.

    Ah, 8-bit music and Pokémon go together like bread and butter. I adore all the music, especially the battle music! I do like Gen I's music slightly better than Gen II's, though.

    Sure, the music in those games were very simple, but to me that really fit the atmosphere of the game. It usually had a happy and uplifting tone to it, which really made the games very enjoyable. Especially Lavender Town, I absolutely love that one :)

    Ecruteak and Cianwood have the absolute best theme song. It's very calming and refreshing, perfect for the nature and history of Ecruteak especially. Take a listen if you don't remember:

    Gives me slight goosebumps just listening to it and I remember sitting around in the area just listening to the track for a few minutes before proceeding on. It's one of the several reasons why Ecruteak is my favorite area in Pokémon. :) Not many songs in Pokémon give off this same level of relaxation for me. <3

    I enjoy the soundtracks to both Gen 1 and Gen 2, because they're so nostalgic. Sometimes when I listen to the songs, I picture a guy rocking out on a piano in front of Game Freak executives, and they all slowly nod in approval.

    My favorite song would be Veridian/Pewter/Saffron City theme. It's just so beautifully written! I can't help but lose myself when I listen to it, and reminisce about when I was a young trainer.
