Thought this place needed a 'general thread'

So! Here y'all can boast about talk about your computers, your androids 'n' iPhones, latest technological developments, basically anything that has a CPU brain. You can come here for help on tricky technological issues or to simply say that you own the "x,y and z" of technology.

Though, if you want to talk about gaming and/or le Steam, might I suggest that you take your conversations over yonder

Let's start off with an easy topic; what are your computer's specs?

I have a HP G62 Laptop that I've been rocking for about 4-5 years now. It's nothing too special, as it has a i3 quad-core CPU, Windows 7 OS, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, a busted CD/DVD drive and pretty much bog standard everything else. I may be forced to upgrade it to something a bit more 'beastrial', a laptop that has something like 8-12 GB of ram, Windows 8.1, and either an i5 or i7 processor simply because my current computer struggles to run Visual Studio '13. And, with me being something of an in-training dev'er, this is quite the problem.
