    For you code-savvy users--what is your opinion of GitHub?

    GitHub is a site where you may store your code publicly (or privately for a fee) for others to read, build upon, and edit/debug. This also means you can collaboratively code with friends and other programmers online entirely.

    Personally, I find GitHub useful for coding large-scale projects as well as for posting my progress in a language. If you use GitHub, what do you use it for? Have you heard of it before now?

    I made a GitHub account after a friend showed me how to sync files to it from within Visual Studio itself. I do however dislike that all code repositories are there are public by default. I like that this works for open source projects, but for your own lil' things, it's a bit of a no-sell.

    I still like looking at stuff put on there though.

    Whilst I don't actually post or submit to Github, it is incredibly useful and a great site. Wish I had found it years ago, honestly! It's really good.

    I think it's a great resource for programmers of all levels--you can learn so much from other people there. It's actually how I picked up programming and started working towards a career in computer science!

    @[member="Reckless"] yeah, the private/public difference is slightly upsetting, but I prefer the current settings to the alternative (ads on the site).
