A Q&A starring me! Seeing as I'm more or less a new member around the lake, I figured I would make a Q&A thread to get to know the community better and let you all know a bit more about who I am. I'm open to most questions, but I'll tell you if there's something I don't really feel comfortable talking about. Without further ado, ask away!
First! Saw you mention Xenoblade X in your RPG thread.. If you've played the other Xenoblade games, how would you rank them and why? (Ignore this question if you haven't.) Favorite song in Xenoblade Chronicles X?
Are you much of a reader? (Typical question for a writer to ask I know ) If so, what do you like to read?
I've only actually played Xenoblade 1 and X, haven't had the chance to play Xenoblade 2 yet. In light of that, I suppose my ranking is Xenoblade X at #1 and Xenoblade 1 at #2. And I'm so happy you brought up the music in Xenoblade X! It's easily my favourite game soundtrack: there's so much about it that I love! It's nearly impossible for me to pick a favourite song because there's just so many I adore. A few of the ones I find myself listening to the most in my spare time are No. EX 01, Wir Fliegen, In The Forest, The Key We've Lost, and Your Voice. I also sometimes listen to the nighttime Sylvalum theme when I go to bed, it's so calming and beautiful. Unfortunately, I don't get to read as much as I used to because of school (because I read other stuff specifically for school kek). When I did have a lot of free time for reading, I usually stuck to fantasy, spy novels, or novels that had roots in real-life historical events. One of my favourite books is Stowaway by Karen Hesse. It's a wonderful read and I highly recommend it. EDIT: My username was actually based on another username that had a similar sound that I saw on DeviantArt once. I decided that GlaceonSilver would sound nice and could easily be converted to a shorter nickname like GS or Silver. Glaceon also happens to be a Pokémon I really like.
To be honest, I'm mostly just expecting to interact online with others again. It's been awhile since I've been on forums, and with my interest in Pokémon starting to come back, I decided now was as good a time as any to get back online and chat with others!
If you became a gym leader, which type would you specialize in? What team would you use? What traps/puzzles would challengers need to complete to get to you?
If I were to run a Pokémon gym, I'd probably pick fire-types as my specialty. I haven't played all the Pokémon games, but there usually seems to be a lack of fire gym leaders, which is unfortunate because the fire type has a lot of really fun Pokémon. I'd probably want to be a late game gym so I could use a lot of fully evolved fire types. I'd imagine using some of my favorites such as Ninetales, Magmortar, and Magcargo. I think it could be interesting to have gym puzzles centered around controlling fire or burning through obstacles. My avatar was actually something I drew a couple days ago. I recently got the shiny charm in Pokémon ultra moon, and I started breeding for shiny Porygon. I managed to hatch one after only 102 eggs with Masuda Method! I thought it would be nice to draw my new friend. As for what the color "glaceon silver" would look like, I'd imagine some sort of metallic white colour, with a hint of very light blue thrown in to give an icy, blizzard-like look.
I use the Lake Valor theme for its nice blue aesthetic. I find the other themes are a bit too harsh with their colours, and they bother my eyes after looking at them for too long. The Lake Valor theme is calm, not too flashy, and has plenty of beautiful visuals to go with it. I'm a sucker for Generation 5. Pokémon Black and White 2 are my favourite Pokémon games in the series, and the original Black and White take the number 3 spot, right after Pokémon Heartgold. Pokémon Black 2 really struck the right vibes with me; it's much more developed than Black and White, has a fantastic post-game, and remains to this day the only Pokémon game where I feel as though grinding is a non-issue.
I've never really been one for either, or even hot drinks in general. I only drink tea when I'm sick and need a pick-me-up, and I never drink coffee.
Not even hot chocolate? :O (Chocolate milk is still good I guess XD) Which evil team do you think had the coolest grunt battle theme? Boss battle theme?
Nope, I don't even like hot chocolate all that much! It is nice to have some after a long day out in the cold though ~ My favourite grunt battle theme from Pokémon is a toss-up between Team Rocket's from HG/SS or Team Plasma's from B2/W2. Both have a real sense of energy to them and are just really memorable for me. As for a boss theme in Pokémon, the award for my favourite goes for Ghetsis' remix in US/UM. It takes the chilling tones of the original and sets them to an orchestral sound that's less unsettling and much more grand, a welcome change given Ghetsis' power-hungry character.
Do you like dressing up for events like dinners/dances, or do you find the whole process of shopping and dressing to be a hassle?
