Do any of you use glasses? How long have you had them? I've been using glasses ever since I was in year 2. :'D I've never really used them until I was in year 5 and ever since then, my glasses have never been out of my sight (pun intended). Or perhaps you use contact lenses? I was told that I'd be better off with them but I'm far too scared to even try and put them in my eyeballs.
I've been wearing glasses for a few years now. I was supposed to get them when I was five, but for some reason I didn't get them till I was in high school. Contact lenses sound too confusing to me and I don't want to touch my eye.
I've been wearing glasses since third grade. I've been told I should get contact lenses, especially when I'm playing a sport, but I was terrified of the optometrist putting his hand in my eye, and I'm certainly not going to do that myself.
I wore glasses starting in fourth grade and continued until senior year in high school, when I decided to try contacts. Although they are now my primary means of having corrective vision, I always have a pair of eyeglasses to my current prescription as backup just in case Normally I'll have weekly lens changes, but if I'm traveling (which I do a lot) I will instead bring daily disposables.
I don't wear glasses or contact lenses, but my parents do. I wouldn't mind wearing glasses in the future.
I've had glasses since I was 24 iirc, I always forget to wear them tho even if I kinda need them for more than just reading. I just never seem to have gotten use to wearing them and I don't wanna use contacts as poking myself in the eye daily don't sound that tempting.
I think I've had glasses since grade 9 when I became near-sighted. I can't imagine myself ever using contacts. The idea of having to stick my finger right up against my eye to put one of them in scares me.
I've worn reading glasses since I was in year 2, though they're to stop my eyes from getting sore rather than making things less blurry.
I have absolutely awful vision. I literally cannot read things half an inch away from my face. I've worn glasses since I was in first grade or so, and it's almost necessary for me to function now. I once had contact lenses. On the first day wearing them, the right one ripped and nearly blinded me. I have never worn them since. #MissingNo
I've had glasses since middle school. After the fifth grade, one of my teachers notified my mom that I was squinting a lot in class. My teacher thought I was glaring at her! Since then, I've been going from frame to frame trying to find the right style. I started with this ridiculous pair. They were this opalescent blue. Now I have square frames. I may try contacts one day, but I'm scared to put stuff in my eye.
Unnecessarily long story for the question, "Do you where Glasses?" Short answer: yes. I started wearing glasses just before high school. It used to be that I couldn't see anything in focus that was more than 2 feet away from my face, so I was always wearing them. In the last few years though, something weird has been happening. I went to my eye doctor for the usual check up when my glasses started giving me a headache. I thought at first that they were just too tight, but the doctor said that they were actually a little too strong. I just assumed that I had said something wrong on my last eye exam and ended up with stronger than necessary glasses. At one point, I think slightly later in the same year I got those new glasses, I looked to my alarm clock when I woke up one night and saw that I could read the numbers on the clock without my glasses. When I got up and walked out into the hallway, I noticed the corners where the walls met the floor and ceiling weren't as fuzzy as normal. I still couldn't see at far distances though, so I assumed I was just imagining it, though I was sure I hadn't been able to read the numbers on the clock from my bed before. I ended up not being able to go back to the eye doctor for a few years because of scheduling difficulties and ended up once again with horrible headaches a little over a year ago. I was stuck at school until the weekend, so I went without wearing them for a week and noticed as I walked around outside without them that I could see the leaves on the trees without my glasses, which was something I knew I couldn't do when I first got my glasses. My eyes were definitely getting better. When I finally got to my eye doctor and I told him that, he got really excited and after the exam confirmed that my eyesight had somehow improved drastically. Apparently its not unheard of, but it's uncommon for anyone younger than 40. My new glasses even had a drastic price reduction because the lenses didn't need to be as strong, which was nice. At this point I don't usually wear them all that much, especially not when at the computer because the eyestrain is terrible, but I still do when outside or in open areas for long times or when driving. Unfortunately my left eye, while also improving, isn't improving as fast as my right eye, so I still have to wear them or my depth perception is terrible. I don't know what's up with my left eye, it seems to adjust to the dark faster and be overly sensitive to light, so I don't know what that's about.
I started wearing glasses in 2nd grade and wore them up into my third year of college when I got corrective surgery. I am really glad I got the surgery. It went well and I can see perfectly now. Dunno if anyone else here plans on getting LASIK done, but if you do I suggest getting your eyes used to being touched (Like putting in and taking out contacts for example). It would have helped me a lot.
Oh boi, I think I started wearing glasses when I was in... about 7th or 8th grade? I only worn them in class and at home because I was self conscious of them at the time. I eventually started to wear contacts around my Freshman year in High School, but not full time. I think it wasn't until my Junior Year that I worn them pretty much everyday and would only wear my glasses if I need to see after I take them off before I sleep. Sometimes if my eyes get too dry (luckily this rarely happens) I'll take them out and wear my glasses or just not wear anything because my up close vision is fine. It's just that if it's crucial for me to see far away (like for driving) I'll have my contacts in or my glasses if I have issues with my contacts. Also instead of using the same pair and having to clean them, I have daily lenses that I have to replace. It costs a bit more but imo they are much more hydrating for my eyes and I have a lot fewer issues with them compared to when I would use ones that were supposed to last me months.
I've worn glasses since 4th or 5th grade, and started wearing contacts when I got to high school for sports. When I first had to wear them, I was really self-conscious because I got them in the middle of the year. And I used to only have to wear them when I had to look at things that were far away. My eyesight's gotten worse, and now I have to wear them basically all the time because of an astigmatism in my right eye. When I wore contacts, it was for sports in high school, but I prefer regular glasses now because the contacts for an astigmatism is thicker than other contacts, and it feels really weird. I know that as of now I don't want to get LASIK or whatever -- I kind of like the look of glasses on my face
