1x1 Guardian Rangers (Link x Might)

"Lighting Fist is ready to go sir" Taz called back on the radio at the military base in Sicily. He was nervous about his first official combat deployment he spent a lot of the morning checking on 'Lighting Fist' making sure that everything was working the way it was meant to, but now he was in the cockpit with Alert Unit 2 waiting to be called. He breathed slowly trying to calm his nerves then the call came.

 

"Jeré jeré, I'm lost now," Nate muttered as he walked the streets of Sicily aimlessly, hands behind his back as his opened trenchcoat flapped in the breeze. His strange attire, hair colour and tattoos captured the attention of many in the city, however he ignored it in favour of thinking what to do next. "I have the Ruigg, but it's probably gonna run outta battery on my next teleport," he grimaced, seeing he empty battery symbol blinking on his weapon. "Ahh vaste!" he declared, deciding to just run around until he finds something worthwhile. He continued this until he accidentally bumped into a large burly man. "Oh! Pazénsja, old man," he quickly apologised, taking off, when the giant person suddenly grabbed him by the collar of his coat.
"Where do you think you're goin'?" the man inquired, his metal hand gripping the boy tightly.
"Well away from here," Nate declared, ripping himself from the man's iron-clad grip (fortunately his trenchcoat wasn't affected; thank the Kami for the advances in science that created stronger clothing) and breaking off to a sprint.
"Oi! Come back 'ere!" the man shouted, but Nate was long gone.

After a few more minutes of sprinting to ensure he wasn't being tailed, Nate stopped by a small bench, panting as he sat down. "That was excitin'," he grinned to himself as he once more looked around. He then caught sight of a large building, one with five spires and lots and lots of metal. "Ké aste!" He exclaimed, now determined to reach that building.

Spoiler: Translations

Since this is 1000 years in the future, I'd say most languages would evolve and change (if they hopefully aren't completely wiped out), so Nate's expressions come from the language in his home country (which I think is kinda obvious)~

"Alert Unit 2 you are cleared for launch," The flight controller said over the radio the plane moved with a sudden jerk as the catapult sent the plane into the air. As we went underway the commander turned to the rest of us now clear with the situation and said "Out of 12 planes that went out to the Plane only 10 returned. Our job is to find the remains of the 2 and any survivors among the wreckage and bring them home, Understood?"
"Loud and clear sir" one of the grunts responded.
The commander approached Taz knowing that this is the first time Taz has ever been deployed and said: "Remember your training and follow my orders, you will get back home alive."
Taz looks back at him and said "Sir Yes Sir" though his word did little to settle his nerves. The pilot called out on the radio "Contact 12 O'clock low: it is Plane 5."
The pilots chattered for a bit then continued on the original course with Plane 5 out of known danger Plane 7 is still unaccounted for.

 

Nate gawked at the large complex that stood before him. It was huge! The gate itself was at least ten times bigger than him. "Vaste, here goes nothin'," he muttered as he went through the wide entrance, surprised that nobody was guarding the area. "Endé (no), there are cameras watchin' this place for sure," he said to himself as he continued walking casually. Eventually he arrived at a launching area of sorts, as he can see many planes and other aerial vehicles scattered throughout the field. Catching his interest, however was a group of around ten planes where several people were quickly alighting. "Refugees," he deduced, noticing that their clothes belonged not to the local region and their clothes and bodies were covered in dust.
"Oi, what are you doing, little runt?" someone said from behind him, making the whitehead jump in surprise. "You're not from around here, are you?" the person, revealling herself to be a scarlet-haired woman, declared strictly as she narrowed her eyes at the stranger.
"Uhh," Nate responded nervously, sweat forming on his face as the woman inched closer to him. Potjé, varse regeppam desjte, ké jéam...

 

"Sir, Plane 7 is on radar and something is following it." Said the pilot.
"Can you give me any more information than just something."
The pilot just pointed at the creature.
" 'Censored' bring us on the 6 of Plane 7 give them as much cover fire as we can." The commander turns to us "Bob, Jim, Taz our target is the big guy fire at will" He turns back to the pilot "Open the back door and power up the door guns."
The plane turns and puts itself between the creature and plane 7 with the 2 side doors open with Bob and Jim manning the guns and Taz looking out the back directly at the creature, Taz notices the Sandstone and rubble that made the body of the creature and can make out that there is something in the middle of the head it's unclear what though.
With a creature that size, it is impossible to miss and the door gunners and Taz unload on the creature.

 

As the creature slams into the ground, the commander calls its position to command and he observes it trying to determine if it is actually dead. Both the gunners and Taz continue to fire upon the creature until they were out of effective range. As they returned to base with Plane 7 in formation the men in the Alert Unit just wondered why the heck they were there or if they were even needed. Taz though just relieved that the mission was accomplished and they were heading home.

 

-Taz-

The plane of Alert Unit 2 lands safely back at base. The commander stopped the men to tell them they were going to be debriefed in 30 minutes and to report back to Briefing Room 2. The men all went to their barracks to cool off and collect their thoughts on what they were just witnessed. Taz did not go to the barracks with the rest of the men he went down to the mech hangar. "Ok Vulcan run a diagnostic on all systems on Lighting Fist"
"Yes sir" the A.I. responded. After a moment. "All systems functional normally sir, maintain the current maintenance schedule and... to try to get a life outside the hangar sir"
"Ha Ha funny now I have to be debriefed in a little bit, can you analyze the gun camera footage to see where we need to improve the energy rifle."
"Yes sir... I will go ahead and tell you that based on the amount of footage available I might not be able to tell you anything, you were only gone from the base only 1.167 hours."
"I will be back after later just have the report ready." Taz starts to hurry off to the briefing room.
"Yes sir."

 

~ Nate ~

"Oi let me go!" Nate shouted, flailing helplessly in the grip of the amazonian redhead. "C'mon, I just wanted to look around for a while, I swear! Siguena pléze!" he added, squirming as he tried to escape. Seeing a soldier pass by he suddenly grabbed that man's uniform, looking at the man with pleading eyes. "Help meeee!" he cried as he began to shed anime tears, before the other woman pulled on the whitehead, causing him to lose his grip and release the soldier, who lost his balance from the sudden action and fell down.
The scarlet-haired soldier looked back at him and the other man, a tick mark appearing on her forehead. "Insolent brat, you need to behave," she declared, whacking Nate on the head and rendering him unconscious. Turning her attention the soldier who fell she grabbed him and propped him up. "Are you okay, soldier?" the redhead asked, not recognising the person.

(it's Taz)​

 

"I am fine thank you, what happened?" Said Taz as he was being helped up by the scarlet-haired soldier.
"This brat was caught within the perimeter." Said the scarlet-haired soldier.
"Is knocking him out apart of the procedure?"
"He was resisting us as you saw."
"Well, follow procedure and take him to the Perimeter Captian to be identified and questioned, but seeing that he is just a kid he just might let him off with a warning and discharge him from the base quickly" Taz takes a moment to think.
"We know the procedure you do not have to lecture us."
"IF the procedure is followed then there should be at least one guard for every entrance and if that is the case how did he get in here?" the other soldiers notice that Taz is starting to lose his cool. The scarlet-haired soldier turned pale and on her radio called out to every guard post and found that the guard post at entrance 5 was not manned.
"Now if yall will excuse me I am needed at Briefing Room 2." Taz resumes his way to the briefing room thinking about how did the kid get into the base and who was not at their post.

 

-Taz-

As Taz just enters the briefing room the base alarm goes off: Lockdown. The men of Alert Unit 2 jumped at the sound of the alarm but the commander and the debriefing officer just followed procedure and locked down the building. The debriefing officer got on the landline phone and called the command tower after a brief discussion he turned to the men. "On Plane 7 apparently there is a bad apple on the plane and he started resisting arrest the first warning we got was someone yelling as they got off the plane."
The commander spoke up: "Don't worry guys the security guys will have this handled in a few minutes."

-The base-
As soon as the alarm was heard the entrances to the base were closed and the soldiers ran out from the barracks to secure the planes and the perimeter of the base. One group of soldiers ran to Plane 7 where the center of the commotion was and surrounded the plane rifles in hand.

A pair of MPs that originally saw the person yelling, told him to "Get down on the ground, arms spread."

 

"How foolish of me," the woman guard muttered to herself, walking at a sedate pace with the knocked-out Nate in the air. "The child could've only entered here if there was someone not at their post... How could I have been so careless?"
Continuing her walk, a sudden realisation came to her. "Wait, who was not at their post?" A dark aura began to surround her, making even the dormant whitehead shiver in his sleep. "I shall investigate this immediately!" she declared, momentarily forgetting the boy on her shoulder.

At the barracks...
In the T.E.A.L. Army, there are several divisions of soldiers, each accomodated for certain tasks. The Alert Unit, for example, is composed of people who respond to emergency disasters. There is, however, one special Unit, where a group of... 'talented' soldiers have banded together, accomplishing different duties, usually small ones. This is Accessory Unit 6, also known as the Pixies, due to their apparent lack of members.
The redhead sighed as she entered the quiet base; being one of the few members of the Unit the area was small and empty. She narrowed her eyes at a piece of clothing that was definitely not in here when she left...
"Officer Blacke, I see you've come back early," the crimson-haired amazon stated darkly, an even more murderous aura appearing around her as a raven-haired teen appeared from under a small bed, frantically waving his arms around naked(?!).
"L-lieutenant Esdras, it's not what you think!" the man exclaimed, trying to preserve his dignity by staying under the bed.
The redhead, now known as Esdras, however, wouldn't have any of that; instead she hurled the soldier from under the bed, revealling his nude body to the world (thank whatever god was above that he was wearing boxers). "I... wore the wrong uniform..." Blacke muttered sheepishly.
"And leave your post!?" Esdras growled, making the soldier pale and wince, awaiting the expected hit from his superior.
Instead however, the redhead sighed, for the first time paying notice to her cargo. "I will allow this to pass for now, since we now have a problem in our hands," she said, gesturing to the unconscious Nate as she placed him on the bed.
"A kid?" a third voice asked as a large man with several metal piercings came out of a small shower. "What's he doing 'ere?"
"Apparently, he was able to enter because Blacke here decided to shirk his work," Esdras replied, her voice lowering at her cohort's name, making him flinch.
Unbeknownst to them the whitehead began to stir, still quite oblivious to his surroundings. "Jeré jeré, where am I?" he muttered, before snapping his eyes open as he finally awoke, looking at the three equally surprised people with wide eyes. "Oi, who are you guys?"

 

-Taz-

After the lockdown was lifted the debriefing officer, a Captain Brock, resumed his questioning but most of the information that he gathered was from the two gunners and Taz. When he finally saw the gun camera footage from Taz's energy rifle which told most of the same story that everyone else did but the captain requested that Taz give him a copy of the footage so that the 'lab boys' can have a look at it AND the footage is deemed CLASSIFIED material.
"Sir, may I ask why the footage is classified?" Taz spoke up never in his life anything he did ever was deemed classified like this.
"Sergent Dominatus, the people will panic if they see anything this big, for right now it is classified until further notice."
Taz at that point had an apple in his throat. Afterward, everyone was dismissed and they resumed their duties and Taz went on his way back to the hangar to hear what Vulcan's report was.

 

"Please, I ask you to not be distressed," Esdras pleaded as Nate looked around with a panicked look on his face.
"Distressed? Distressed!? How can I not be distressed! You hit me in the head!" the whitehead retorted pointing an accusing finger to the redhead, who to her companions' surprise kept a straight face. "You look like a gangster," Nate continued, pointing to the large man, "and you, I just don't like 'ya."
Blacke gained a tick mark from hearing that. "What are you trying to say, albino?" the black-haired teen growled, butting heads with the kid who was surprisingly the same height as him.
"I'm saying 'ya look stupid!" Nate replied, the two now pushing each other as sparks flew between their eyes.
"I could say the same thing to you!"
"Then why don't 'ya have any clothes on, 'ya stripper!"
"I am not a stripper, I just put the wrong clothes on dammit!"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Esdras shouted, gaining Nate and Blacke's attention and making the two tremble in fear, hugging each other in dread of what the redhead would do to them. "Blacke, I expected more of you," she declared sternly, facing the still-naked teen. "And put some clothes on!"
As the black-haired boy scrambled to find his correct uniform, she then turned to the the large man. "Gale, I know it's your day off, but can you please take over Blacke's shift while I take care of the boy?"
The man with metal piercings simply snickered at the comment. "Gihihi, it's been boring here anyway," he grinned, walking out the room at a steady pace, hands behind his back.
"Ké aste..." Nate muttered as he watched the large man exit the room, then began to sweat as the amazonian woman turned her gaze to him.
"As for you," Esdras said, "I'll be taking you to the Perimeter Captain, and he'll decide what to do with you," she concluded, filling the whitehead with slight worry.
