A pretty straight forward question, which do you prefer to use within battle/gameplay? Do you use programs like PokeGen or Action Replay or do you raise your Pokémon? Let us know here!

I used to use PokeGenned Pokémon ALL the time for battling. It was impossible to use raised Pokémon due to a lot of people on WiFi hacking their Pokémon. You'd lose most battles if you didn't spend days and days EV training and such. But recently, I've gotten a new outlook and with sites like Join Avenue, I've been raising all of my Pokémon properly. It's pretty fun to level them up using Join Avenue, though money is pretty annoying to get once you're done with the Ruins and other places. You'll have to battle a lot of trainers.

I always use "hacked" Pokémon for competitive, when I wasn't using PO. It's at a point where raising your Pokémon is too much work for me, because I just simply don't have the time to do it. I don't battle anymore, but I haven't raised a competitive Pokémon since the 4th generation.

I think if people want to get into Competitive Battling, they need to raise their own Pokémon and take responsibility. Hacked Pokémon are for weenies >:(

I don't really mind either one. Though I'd rather have a legit Pokémon that I get from the game. However, if It's a Pokémon that I cannot obtain through trade or whatever, then hacking would do just fine.

Solely raised ones. I hate hacked Pokémon, part of the game is to obtain them, if you are just going to cheat then what's the point? I avoid Wifi battles because I just know it's always a hack fest (besides not being able to use wifi of course, I still would avoid it if I had it). I'm hoping that with X and Y coming out, hacked Pokémon will be very hard to use if able to be used at all, and people will be forced to legititmately train and put hard work in if they want a top-tier team. That's what it's supposed to be about as far as I'm concerned.

I have always trained my Pokémon legitimately. Also, I heard you can't trade hacked Pokémon to X/Y, which is why I'm glad my 34 lv.100s are legit. :D

Only raised ones, I feel more accomplished.

Always raised, I don't even know how to make hacked Pokémon. But if I did I think I would still use the ones I raised myself. You get that feeling of when you beat someone of "Yeah, I raised that powerhouse, what now?" Plus my vaporeon and flygon duo beat hacked Pokémon on a pretty good basis, so I'm happy using them.

    I'm a master breeder! Woo!

If there's no way to hack or transfer hacked Pokémon into the new gen, and nobody bypasses it, then I'm going to sell bred Pokémon for real money, because I'm sure somebody would buy them. Go me.

So, yeah, I like breeding them and raising them myself, pretty much perfectly. As perfect as you can be without external devices, anyway.

I don't enjoy hacked Pokémon and I try to steer clear of them. Sometimes while trading with a dishonest person, I come across a hacked Pokémon or two, which I later discard. I prefer breeding my Pokémon and I get a greater satisfaction out of seeing my Pokémon grow from an egg to a fully evolved Pokémon.

I was unaware that most competitive battlers use hacked Pokémon and it disappoints me that they do. There's no use in calling yourself a true Pokémon battler if the Pokémon you're using were made via an illegitimate program. To me it's just conning the system so that you can gain an unfair advantage over those who do put in the hours training their Pokémon.

Pokesav'd chappies without fail. I don't have the time these days to do it 'legitly.' In fact, I barely play Pokémon any more as it is. So yeah, the hacked way for me.

I definitely prefer to raise the Pokémon. The hacked Pokémon are what turned competitive battling into some kind of intense sport, and the hacked Pokémon are like Pokémon on steroids. Whenever I see a Wi Fi battle where a Pokémon is clearly hacked all I can really think is, "Oh! That's interesting how you're shiny Salamence has perfect EVs and IVs that round out it's type disadvantages flawlessly! You sir, are a damn good breeder."

Seriously. It's annoying to see, and in my opinion raising the Pokémon is fun. When I get a bred Pokémon up to level 100 there's a sort of pride that comes with it to me. Yeah, it really just shows that I have no friends, but I don't really care... I like to look at a level 100 Pokémon's summery and see, "met at level 1" there.

I too used to have hacked Pokémon (because I am lazy :P) but now I prefer to get them legitimately and level them up in a regular manner. Though it's a tricky case getting the right IVs, right natured legendary and right Hidden Power type. I really wish I knew how to RNG but it's so long and complicated x.x
I don't mind people using legal hacks in battles however~
