I am supposed to be doing homework right now, but tacos are on my mind. Go figure. Which one do you prefer, hard or soft shell tacos? Why? Do you still dislike the other, or just prefer one? I definitely prefer soft shell tacos, hard shell tacos usually fall apart too easily and I have yet to taste any that are that good, especially compared to some of the soft shell that I've had.
I prefer to just put corn tortilla on a skillet. I usually like them when they’re soft but have a little bit of crunch from a couple areas where the heat spread weird.
Having been to authentic Mexican restaurants, I can say that I love both. The soft ones are so soft and fluffy, while the hard ones are have a deep crunch while still having that deep corn flavor (and are solid enough that they don't fall apart at the first bite).
I mostly prefer soft-shell since I find that it is easier to keep everything in the taco and it is easier to chew.
If i have to choose between the two, I usually stick with soft shell, it's cleaner and holds the insides better. Preferably though, I like both. If you place the hard shell inside the soft, you get the benefit of a nice crunch, but all the perks of a soft shell. If you are really adventurous, you can use doritos instead of a taco shell to make even more flavorful tacos.
Soft shell. It’s less messy, and to me, it tastes slightly better. Still wouldn’t deny an offer for a hard shell though.
I really don’t mind either, but I like hard shell a bit more. Yes, it’s much messier, but it’s like eating loaded nachos. Welp now I want tacos and it’s almost 11 pm here.
I like both, but the crunchy shell barely edges the tortilla. If I'm making them at home, I just use crunchy shells as a base for nachos (this prevents the falling apart problem), but if I'm ordering out, I will likly get the crunchy shell if I want tacos or nachos, and the tortilla if I want burritos or enchiladas.
I prefer soft shell tacos. I like the crunch of hard shell tacos, but the shells keep on breaking, and it's really hard to get a single bite with all of the ingredients in it. Soft shell tacos don't have these problems, and they're just really good.
If I'm making them at home, I'm actually a 100% soft shell girl. It's so much easier with a soft shell to pile in as many toppings as you like, with no restrictions except the judgment of God. Eating out, though, I'll go for either, but lbr. With Taco Bell, it's hard shell or nothin'.
I like hard shell tacos if I want to make a taco salad, or to have a snack of nachos with cheese, banana peppers, jalapenos, all smothered in sour cream and salsa. Soft wraps are for making over-stuffed burritos, and for taking small bites out of, while I prepare a meal. They're good for pretty much any sandwich, whenever we run out of taco ingredients. Thanks to the taco box meals that come with both hard and soft, I don't have to choose anymore. Also thanks to Taco Bell for making a soft outer shell, and sticking a hard inner shell within it. I don't always like hard shells, just because I'm quite adequate at stabbing my gums with the tiny chips off the hard shells. Though when I wasn't able to see the entire title of this thread, I thought it was going to be about eating soft-shell turtles.
I like them both together, crunchy and soft. But I usually stick to soft food anyway bc my gums gave gingivitis :c
I like hard shelled tacos myself; but you have to eat them right when they're made or (just like you said) they'll fall apart. But also, a taco is a taco and a taco is good, ya know?
I CANNOT stand hard shelled tacos! I think they're way too crunchy and can get stuck in your teeth way too easily. Soft shell tacos are the best!
To be perfectly honest, I don't like tacos. They are always way too messy and I prefer just to have a burrito instead. To that end, I would prefer soft shell tacos so I can actually make a burrito out of my taco.
My preference is to slap liquid cheese on the inside of a soft shell, then put a hard shell inside of that to make a taco. If taco bell can do it, then so can I!
Soft shell is best for me, I have pretty beat up gums that don't appreciate anything that breaks into shards like hardshells do. Plus they are just easier to stuff with delicious things.
