If there's one thing a lot of games have nowadays, it's emotional scenes.
Whether it's just a single scene, a multitude of scenes, or a whole game, has a game ever made you feel emotional? Why?

Shovel Knight is one for me. Wait, that game? Yes: at several stages of the game, you dream that Shield Knight (the girl you're saving) is falling. You are left with one dire objective: Catch Her. With the music that's playing, and your objective, a gamer quickly changes to a very focused mindset. They must catch her. There are no consequences if you don't, except for the guilt.

I needed to put this in one of these:
you have to catch her at the end of the game. And this time, you cannot allow yourself to fail.

So, any games where you were induced with "the feels", or any games where it was spoiled like FF7 at one point for me?

    Oooooh yeah.

Through Sadness, rage, happiness and worry. All the emotions have been manifested is video games.

The most intense feeling was when i played The Shadow of colossus. The 16th Colossus. Final boss. In the journey i lost everything. My love. My horse. All for to kill that one towering colossus. I climb that thing. Die OVER AND OVER AGAIN! AND WHEN I FINALLY STAB THE BASTARDS HEAD THE FINAL TIME...IT FELT SO GOOD! And It died... Hahaha... I killed them all... She will live... I can see my love now... I just let these tendrils take me to her...

Im at the temple, but something is off? What black stuff... I have been deceived. I awoke a dead devil god... All for.... nothing?

When you realize it and hang on before you meet with death... I was depressed and mad...

Its a great game. Play it.

It's fairly easy for game to make me feel heartfelt or angry (especially angry), but it takes a lot to make me cry. It's gotta take a lot of character development and realistic interactions between two or more characters to make me so much as shed a tear. (By realistic I mean you can relate to it, and it's not just nonsense.)
A game that made me cry when I was a kid was Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: explorers of sky, during the ending.
Now that I've grown up though one game that has made me cry several times is the Last of Us. The dynamic between Joel and Ellie is just so bittersweet, and there are so many moments in that game that just makes you wish that things were better for them.
Honourable mention goes to The Walking Dead (NOT Survival Instinct, that one made me cry for an entirely different reason), but that one only made me cry in the season 1 & 2 finale, whereas The Last of Us made me consistently cry.
I think a lot of people who've played the game will agree with me.

Several years ago, I cried at the end of the main story of PMD: Explorers of Sky. Why can't every Pokémon game have stories as good as that one? xD

Final Fantasy VI (Or III if you're American)

I had so many feels throughout this entire game, even in all of its pixelated SNES glory. The Story is absolutely amazing and the Soundtrack tops it off perfectly - It's unmatched even by games today.

Mainly the part where Cid dies (If you're bad at catching fish. >.<). Firstly, her reaction, and the fact you can literally see the small twinkles of her tears, and a song begins playing, where there was only the sound of waves earlier, before you watch as she enters the Map screen, not obeying any of your control input, and walks to the top of the island. Then, you watch her hesitate (As anyone would), before leaping from the cliff face. The soundtrack during this bit is actually a slowed-down music-box-sounding version of a song she sung earlier in the story for a play.

Both the cutscene itself, and especially the fantastic soundtrack reduced me to a crying mess. Best game I've ever played to this day, in my opinion.

There were some instances where I felt some emotion during a game cut scene. I keep to myself a lot, and I never express my emotions externally. I'd say one of the saddest gaming moments were the "death scenes" in Zelda, Majora's Mask. Those choked me up pretty good. You know how you hold back your tears and it feels like there's a big ball in your throat? Yeah.

Also, I get somewhat emotional when I've played through a nostalgic game and get to the end credits.
Other than that, I don't really do emotions.

It's also FFVI in America thanks to the GBA and iOS ports XD

PMD aside (I got teary every first playthrough), Rune Factory 4 has left me in a pile of feels, particularly at the end of the second part and during Leon's marriage subquest ;; I haven't done all the marriage subquests but from what I read some of the others may have the same effect on me, haha.

Halo Reach. Don't read this spoiler if you are playing or plan on playing it anytime soon.

At every death scene, I had to resist crying. They just got you so used to the characters personalities, then they kill them. All of Noble team, killed. Jorge's was the one that got me the most (aside from Emile's, he went down, taking the Elite with 'em.) He was my favorite, so when they kill him, I did cry. The 6's, yours, just made me feel honored to serve as him. Then I remembered it was a game, and I cried again.

I am the most emotional person I know (well not really obviously, but that was a hyperbole of sorts). Last game I played that brought me in tears was To The Moon. SO MUCH FEELS GAHH. And I've also cried watching the cutscenes of the Kingdom Hearts games (Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts II, 358/2 Days, Dream Drop Distance OMG).

I can't hold all these feels. Too much awesome. Such sad. IDK even.

I hate to be a bit boring (Since pretty much every sad game topic every made will mention it), but PMD: Explorers is my first mention... Grovyle's 'sacrifice' of sorts was the first time I cried in a video game. Especially the music. Then there was the ending, Manaphy leaving, etc...
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door had the part where you take a letter to Admiral Bobbery, a retired Bob-omb sailor who refuses to help you even though you need him to sail to an island (He later joins you as a party member). Said letter is what his dead wife wrote for him on her deathbed while he was at sea (She had some really bad illness that she got while he was away at sea), and she gave it to a bartender to give to him, but said bartender didn't have the heart to give it to him when he seen how distraught he was over it. Then Bobbery never set sail again because he blamed himself for it, and then when you receive the letter from said bartender and take it to Bobbery (In short, his wife says how it's not his fault that she passed away and he brought joy to her life), there's a really emotional scene with emotional music... it made me tear up. Then he finally agrees to help you. Super Paper Mario had some very emotional bits too, but none that made me cry... but they did bring me very close. (That game's ending has made a LOT of people cry, and I don't blame them.)
And MOTHER 3... I don't even know where to begin, but if you're unaware of how sad this game is, then I'll just say it's possibly one of the saddest games you'll ever play.

Only two games have ever managed to make me emotional: Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Oh, yeah. Pokémon Black and White. (Note: Spoilers ahead!) After your character and N battle, N begins to realize both heroes can be right. That was a big emotional cue, I felt really relieved he realized it then. But when Ghetsis came in and started saying all those things (ex.' you still think you're worthy of sharing the name 'Harmonia,' you good-for-nothing boy?!' Oh my god, I got so mad at Ghetsis. Then, at the build-up of N leaving, I'm just thinking, 'what the hell is he doing? What the hell is he doing?' I thought he'd try to jump the first time I saw it, so I'm just panicking and like 'don't do it!' As he tells you to persue your dreams, I felt like I was about to cry. The background music didn't help much, either. It already put me in a dark mood.
Yep, Black and White are the only games that almost made me cry......almost.

Definitely PMD: EoS. I cried after beating Dusknoir in the Hidden Land, and then I cried again at the ending... And then again with the special episodes...

    The first Paper Mario game - mainly a couple of the interactions between Peach and Twink. Super Mario Galaxy is also in there because of Rosalina's story, the music that plays during it, and the end of the game itself. The feels cannot be contained. ;;

The game Valiant Hearts sent me through a feels trip for a good time. It was about WWI and it had such a great story. I recommend anyone to try it out! It's even educational :D

    Persona 3 Portable.
    The FeMC's storyline.
The Full Moon mission in October.
    Just.
    WHY.
It was the first time I cried (not full out sobbing, but weeping, I guess) over a game.

Oh, and FFXIII-2, final cutscene from the original storyline (not any of the paradox endings).

With most who commented here; I had to agree with them (PMD: EOS & EOD) had to be the most emotional storyline ever.

    Enough said. ;)
