I personally haven't been into Mystery Dungeon games for a long time now, but I admit SMD looks kinda interesting. I need some help deciding whether to get it or not though, since I'm kinda iffy about this.

Is it a game worth buying? How much better is it than previous Mystery Dungeon games? How difficult is the game?

It's certainly a good buy. A bit disappointed that NEARLY ALL of the character choices are starters, with the exception of Riolu and Pikachu. Would have liked an Eevee, Meowth, Togepi or something else in there.

The game itself is pretty fun. It's definitely a good game, but I can't play it for more than a few hours each time, as it gets sort of repetitive. :P

For me, after watching some playthroughs, I'm a bit iffy about some part of story lines, even though it also had interesting parts as well (don't take it into total account, it's my opinion, after all), but I'm pretty sure Super Mystery Dungeon have many good things like being able to befriend a whooping total of 720 Pokémon. However, I think the game will be quite difficult at some point of the game, which might leave bad impression if you prefer easier games. But still, if you like challenge and wanted to befriend any Pokémon, this game is for you, and it's best to have some Oran Berries and Tiny Reviver Seeds ready as well, just in case.

This game isn't like most Mystery Dungeon games. the play is very similar, but the story is quite different. It can be a little off putting to some but I like it. The game also comes with a free 3DS theme I think, mine did at least, and some of my favorite gameplay features are there, such as multi mission dungeon quests (which was absent from Gates sadly) If your looking for a new game, it's probably worth the buy.

The theme is a limited time offer. If you buy it on the eShop, I think you have to do it before December 6th. If you buy a physical copy, I guess you need to find one printed before then :P
You need to use the code before October 31st, 2016, but that shouldn't be a problem xD

I'm disappointed Volcanion isn't in (jk)

    That's a bummer. T_T

I actually prefer more challenging games. So it's a good thing if it's difficult. :D

I haven't played many Mystery Dungeon titles so that's fine. :D

So far, I think I'll buy it since you guys said that the story was interesting haha. I haven't played Mystery Dungeon since Red Rescue Team so I guess I'll be getting tons of new features. Thanks for the replies!

It may just be that I've grown out of it, but I don't think SMD will be as memorable as the other ones.

My game spiked in difficulty a few hours in, facing a mini boss 5 times my level. It's been fine after that though

I don't remember if this goes for other MDs but there's a bit too much dialogue imo
