I am just curious if anyone has owned an exotic pet. If you have not owned an exotic pet, you can also talk about your regular pet or a strange one you have owned. I have owned a sugar glider before, her name was Luna and she was a baby when I got her. I took her outside and she would jump off my shoulder and run up trees, and then when I called her she would jump from the tree and land on my shoulder she was so cuuute!! If you do not know what a sugar glider is I would recommend you look them up if you want to have a cuteness overload.. hahaha!
I used to own a dog once, a female German Shepherd/Red Healer cross. She was so precious~ I would've loved to own a sugar glider though. I've seen them. They are the cutest things I have ever witnessed. <3
I know several people who own budgerigars (I don't know how they manage to pull it off, honestly), though I myself have never owned any 'exotic' pets. A large part of that is I'm definitely not an animal person at all (there are a fair amount of reasons for this, but they are not for this thread); I've only ever had one pet (a Pomeranian) and I couldn't stand the experience at all. Those were an annoying ten years. I'm rather boring in that regard.
I owned a snail.. Does that count as exotic? Or what about a budgie? I'm a non-exotic person with non-exotic tastes apparently ._.
Well, I know a few people who own chinchillas. I don't think I'll ever touch anything softer in my life...
I took care of my friend's lovebirds once, if that counts. And I currently have two giant hermit crabs and a leopard gecko in my living room. #MissingNo
I dont own an exotic pet. My parents own a dog, but when i get my own place, I always wanted to own a python snake. they are just addorable in my oppinion.
I freaking love snakes, my uncle just got one I think it is a ball python, he lives right next to me and I play with the snake all the time! Snakes are great and fun to be around, but my mom will never let me have one because she hates them... she would literally die of a heart attack if I brought one into the house... hmm now that I think about it... A fake snake would make a great prank...
OMG, my mother HATES snakes. Ive told her that i would get one, and she told me that if i ever dare to bring that thing to her house, she would flip.
I've never had any exotic pets, I've had cats, dogs and guinea pigs. I do wanna get a snake at some point but I kinda need to have room for it first and a safe place to put it which I currently don't have.
I don't think I've ever had an exotic pet... the most "exotic" like pet I had was probably a fish when I was little. It only lived for about 3 days... rip I named it Nemo (like any other kid who saw the movie) but it wasn't even a clown fish. xD I think it was a goby or something like that.
Okay I swear that was a Dragon Ball Z reference or perhaps I just spend to much time around my anime friends... I watched an article of this person yelling on Youtube about letting hermit crabs go because apparently they are not meant to be pets.. Or something like they are neglected too much. That is why I said what I said, not saying I believe her or anything, just wanted to hear it from an actual hermit crab owner. Nemo is a freaking awesome name hahaha! I heard that once Nemo came out thousands of kids adopted clown fish and flushed them down the toilet to free them.... Turns out not all drains lead to the ocean... I wonder what happened to all the fish when Finding Dory came out hahahaha!
Oooh I also have a sugar glider! She's 5 years old now and I've had her since she was a 3-month old joey. Tries to climb my arm every time I open her cage. Crabs really loudly at strangers, though. Where I live, they're not exactly "exotic" per say, just uncommon. I would normally see around three or two sugar glider fairs in malls in a year. I see tons of people gathering with their sugar gliders, haha
I love sugar gliders, but yeah they can be loud if they are around strangers. I took Luna to a movie theater once, because she needed to be with me everywhere I went so she could bond with me, and I had her in a little sugar glider pouch you could hang around your neck. She started crabbing when she heard all the loud noises, and heard people talking, it was so embarrassing, everyone was looking at me wondering why I was making that sound hahahaha!
It does take a while for suggies to bond. Mine took about three months to get used to her new home. And yeah, crabbing noises can be very startling to people who aren't used to hearing it. I was never brave enough to take her outside with me because I was afraid that she might jump at innocent bystanders. She jumped at my sister's face once so I'm definitely not gonna risk it
That was a reference. *ha ha* Too much time on Tumblr. They're not actually mine, they're a friend's who's away for the whole summer, so I offered to take them in. I am pretty sure they were imported directly or bred from imported pairs, and I would like to put a stop to that, mostly because a lot of people don't know anything about the animals and then they end up suffering because of it. However, this person actually knows a lot about how to take care of them, and that's good. #MissingNo
