Have you ever played an addicting game? That kind of game that is so awesome, it slaps the controller right out of your hand. The game you buy, play and finish. After you finish it, you want to finish it 100 percent. Then you do, and it was so much fun, you want to play it over and over.

    The best kind of game.

I've had many games do that to me, but the two I most remember are Fire Emblem Awaking for 3DS and Pokémon LeafGreen for Gameboy Advance.

I got Fire Emblem Awaking a week or two after it came out and I still play it today! I just LOVE unlocking all the characters and seeing all the support convos.

I was given Pokémon LeafGreen at a young age and fell in love with it. I didn't know what to do after the 3rd gym, but I do now so it doesn't matter. ;3

To be honest, I have to go with Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2. Those games keep you busy for hours upon hours, and you have to play each game like 10 times to get the whole experience.

Pokémon Gold was like that for me back in the day. Also Final Fantasy VI (was known as III back then) and Super Mario RPG, more than once as a kid I tried to fake sick just so I can keep playing that one. As for modern games, Final Fantasy XII, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

Gonna move to Other Consoles because this can include non-Nintendo games as well.

Well... Still, I find myself playing Zelda Ocarina of Time. I've completed all tasks, got all hearts, and everything. But I still go back to it, restart it and run through it all over again. xD I know the game like the back of my hand now haha.

I could list a few others that I continue to replay through, even though I have beaten them a million times. Starfox 64, Mario 64, Pokémon Silver and Sapphire, Death Jr (on the wii), Spectrobes Wii, and uh... Halo 3 mad 4 :D

I used to be addicted to Call of Duty, Pokémon, and now I've got an addiction to a game called Bloons Tower Defense Battles on my smartphone. I guess I'm addicted to it because I'm extremely good at it, and enjoy being good at stuff.

Minecraft and Luigis Mansion are 2 very addicting games to me. When i first got Luigis Mansion as a kid i was playing the game for hours and hours without stopping. Catching every boo getting every secret and all the treasure and money.
Minecraft is one of those games when you are with friends there is no end. I can play minecraft with friends on my server for hours without stopping. Just a ery enjoyable game

RTS games like the Command and Conquer series, COH, Rise of Nations, Starcraft 2 keep me addicted. It's like they never get old even I play it over and over again. Also, FPSs like COD, MOH and CS also are addicting. And oh, the first time I played Pokémon black, yeah, I finished it. But after that, well, I got tired of it. I'm not saying that it's boring but, I already done what needs to be done... Black 2? Haven't started. =P Why? Personal issues...

I've never been addicted to a game as OP describes. The closest I've gotten to it is Fire Emblem (the one with Eliwood and Lyn) and Pokémon Snap. Was never good enough to beat Fire Emblem though (as I am with 99.99% of my games, I'm just a bad gamer). I beat Pokémon Snap for the second time yesterday (lost my N64 cartridge so I played it on the Wii).

It's no secret that I am absolutely addicted, to Borderlands.

I never just go out and buy a game. Never. But when I first saw the commercial for Borderlands, something in me just said "You need that game, RIGHT NOW." So the day it came out, I grabbed it. And I did not stop playing it. I played the hell out of it, until Borderlands 2 came out. I've played BL2 at least a dozen or more times at this point, and my friends and I have decided that we want to cap out at least one of every character.

Sure, the game itself is fun, and we're on a never ending quest to find all sorts of loot. The humor is great, I love the dark, dramatic turns it can take, it's just an overall insane game that never gets old. But what makes it so addicting? Friends. Playing it with friends, and with different classes, talking about who your favorite character is and trading loot and going on raid boss fights and discovering the best glitches. That's what makes Borderlands so addicting, for me.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. All of them. I've never really felt addicted to the main series Pokémon games, as much as I really loved some of them. I was always able to put them down no problem. But the Mystery Dungeon games are another story... maybe it's because they always have a really good story, but I always wanted to see what would happen next. I remember beating Explorers of Time in two days. I played it almost constantly. I couldn't fall asleep because I wanted to play it so bad, and I gladly got up early so I could play it.

By the way, Explorers of Sky is my favorite game of all time :)

Unfortunately, Gates to Infinity wasn't nearly as addicting for me as the older ones. *shrugs* Maybe I'm just getting older.

When I was younger, I felt quite addicted to Diablo II. I played that game nonstop on and off for like 5 years, lol. I'd stop playing for like a month and then go back, and think "WHY DID I STOP?" We had the Expansion pack, and I beat the whole game with a Sorceress, which my dad said couldn't be done easily at all, so that made me feel pretty good xD

Totally agree that the most addicting games are phone games for me. But they come and go in phases. Most recent addiction is Pokémon. But it might fade over time. The only constant game that I've continuously picked up and restarted time and time again is The World Ends With You (DS) and it hasn't died out on me yet.

I probably have, but I usually don't get addicted to games, so I haven't noticed it being addicting.

There are a few games that have found a special place in my heart.

    Jak and Daxter
    Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Sky
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
    Shining Force

Just ask anyone who knows me well. When asked about these games, I can give multiple hour long lectures (with powerpoints and charts and graphs oh my) on why these games are far superior to any others.
