Comp / Tech HELP! - Digital Audio Workshops

Hey folks! I've got myself a little midi keyboard. It's not much, but I plan on getting cables for it and using it with some SNES, NES, and GBA soundfonts to start making some music. The trouble is... well, I need a program for that.

I know there are a few DAWs that are decent out there, but I'm not really sure where to go. For reference, I've never really mixed music before, and I'm looking for something user friendly. If anyone's got a suggestion for good DAWs or other related programs, I'd be super thankful!
