I'm doing a side chapter for Pokémon Resonance starring Jackson Powers and his Shinx Atlas. They encounter a Wild Growlithe on Johto Route 36, but I'm having trouble writing the battle. I need Growlithe's moves written out (it's Level 15), and I also need help naming it.
Moves up to level 15 are Bite, Roar, Ember, Leer, Odor Sleuth, and Helping Hand. As for a name, I gave good ol' google a glance and, assuming its a male growlithe, found two cool ones: Ra and Argos.
Well going by the level, normal behavior for a growlithe is typical just to end the battle quickly with Roar. But for a more exciting encounter it'll most likely depending on the scenario is encountered act like a dog, it is the puppy pokémon after all. Is it cornered? Did it get surprised? What is the pokémon's general view and experience with other pokémon? If you play with natures in your story, what nature is it? If you play with nature that'll somewhat determined how it'll act.
It's Nature would probably be the same as Atlas's: something that boosts Atk and lowers Sp Atk. I wouldn't know what that would be, because I never keep track over what's what. I also play around with Egg Moves due partially to ORAS. Right now I wouldn't say it's cornered, more like it's just growling at Jack and Atlas right now. It is territorial after all.
Up Atk and lower Sp. Atk will make it Adamant aka stubborn, so you got a stubborn fire puppy on your hands.
Yeah, and since it's territorial it's not gonna back down until you high-tail it out of there. It'll probably only use Roar if it feels like it's backed up into a corner, but otherwise expect lots of Bites and Embers. At least, that's how I would interpret an Adamant-nature for something like Growlithe, especially since it's a pup.
Hm...Having both with Adamant would probably cause a fight especially if I were to give Atlas Rivalry, though I don't see myself giving Atlas Rivalry. Guts is more likely. Either way, stubborn fire puppy, meet stubborn electric kitty.
