Let's say you published a work of fiction. How would you react upon learning that there's an established fanfiction hub about your work on a site like fanfiction.net? Would you be tempted to read any of them, or would you just avoid it at all costs?

Oh, I would be thrilled! I'd want to interact with my fans and the community they've built to see what sort of fan theories they've made, which characters they like, what they wanted to see happen, and stuff like that. Even if it isn't high-quality stuff, I'd be ecstatic just to know that people liked what I made enough to make fan-based content off it.

I would love that! When I write I do my best to include hidden secrets which are solvable but only if you have knowledge. People fanficcing about the secrets would be fun and if I can inspire new people to pick up a p-p-p-p-penguin pen and write, well, I would die happy

I would be trilled to bits. Fanfiction means people like my stories to create their own ideas and stories based off my canon. I'd also want to see how many shippings the fan create.

I'd have a thorough scan of it and be really proud of myself. I would then talk to the people and see wwhat they think about my stories and what-not.

I'd be flattered, but I would avoid reading it at all costs. Part of it is, for instance, what if I'm in the middle of a sequel and someone's fanfic is almost exactly what I'm already writing officially? Things would get pretty sticky in the legal department though. Even if my work did come first, the publishing dates would cause legal issues.
